- jaywO3840DT0 contributionsTake the plunge!Annie is incredible! Our 3-generation travel group (including two kids under 10) was thrilled with everything. We booked a private multi-day tour based out of Kilarney with Annie, knowing very little about the area and also (if I'm honest) having a little hesitation about wiring money in advance of meeting IRL. But fear not! Annie made recommendations each morning for optimal itineraries based on weather, our interests, and timing. We avoided the large buses like the plague and enjoyed the sights with her expert local guidance. She's a fundamentally good, kind person and an excellent guide and companion. Very highly recommended!Written August 30, 2024
- Culture420054443620 contributionsIreland trip 2023We were lucky enough to get Annie as our guide on a last minute trip to visit some of the sights in SW Ireland. She was so personable and welcoming that we instantly were at ease. She knew all the ins and outs, history, and was eager to share her knowledge. She customized the two days we shared with activities we were interested in as well as shared suggestions of things we hadn’t considered. If we ever return to Ireland, we will definitely give her a call.Written November 26, 2023
- 290feliciab0 contributionsA Tour with Kingdom Guided Tours is a great way to see Ireland!!!What a fabulous tour around the Ring of Kerry/Skellig we had with Kingdom Guided Tours. You will not go wrong choosing to spend the day with Annie. She is so knowledgable and eager to share the beauty of the area with you. She grew up there and knows everything about it. We were mesmerized by the spectacular view from the Kerry Cliffs to the Skellig Rocks and beyond. Annie was also helpful recommending the best places to eat and other places to visit. She even helped arrange our boat tour the next day!! We can't say enough good things about this tour, and we hope to return in the future for another one!Written September 26, 2023
- donnamariag20210 contributionsKingdom Guided Tours should be your go to for a wonderful Ireland experience!Annie was an awesome guide. She took the 5 of us on a five day tour from Kilkenny up the west coast. We toured the Rock of Cashal, Ring of Kerry, Wild Atlantic Way stopping to see different churches, houses and castles. She was able to book a last minute Skellig Michael tour for two members of our group. And she was able to rearrange things when one person was feeling under the weather. We were so very fortunate to have glorious sunny weather the entire time that we toured . Annie made last minute reservations for us and made sure that we found the best places to stop for lunch and dinner. I would definitely recommend using her as a guide!Written September 16, 2023
- Coastal540141819600 contributionsGreat guide and fantastic tour experienceAnnie has been a very nice guide, where we toured Ring of Kerry and Skellig Ring. She told us about the history of the places we went by and the significance of the same. She tailored the tour to our needs and we were able to enjoy it so much. We talked a lot, and we feel that Kerry is the place to be for vacation at any point of time in summer or winter or any other month. She is a local person so she is pretty familiar with the culture here, she told us about things other people may not know- for eg, the school where still they speak Irish very fluently. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone who would like to spend quality time with family or friends and have a feel for the amazing place. My first reaction to it was- why is the world not coming here more often? And with Kingdom guided tours, it would be such an amazing personalised experience. Thank you so much Annie 👍👍Written December 23, 2022
- G2978MCmikec0 contributionsProfessional Tour GuideAnn is a professional at the trade of guiding and all that accompanies it. I lost something very important to me on the trip. She spent every free moment making calls and thinking of where it could be. All while keeping the tour going. It was fantastic to have her as our guide with her care for you and intimate knowledge of the area. I would love to have the opportunity to take a drive with Ann and continue to see the sites of Ireland.Written November 25, 2022
- maggmccarr0 contributionsThird tour with Ann - each better than the lastThis was my third trip with Ann, and let me just say every day with Ann is a delight. As a local, she knows all the ins and outs of seemingly every part of Ireland which really added a personal touch to the whole experience. Ann carries conversation as if she’s known you her whole life which just makes the day fly by. She’s excellent at catering to her specific clients interests, whether that’s working in more stops for food/drink vs more short, view-filled hikes. Whenever I go to Ireland, Ann will always be the first person I contact. 110% recommend!Written November 23, 2022
- DLM15510 contributionsWonderful Experience Touring the West and South of IrelandAnnie helped to make our trip memorable and took the stress off of driving and planning! We were so lucky to come across Annie's bio online and luckily she had an opening! My husband and I toured with Annie for 4 days - we took the train from Dublin to Galway and Annie picked us up there. We toured the Cliffs of Mohar and drove to Dingle, then Slea Head and Skellig Michael, Ring of Kerry, and to Waterford! What we appreciated from Annie was her knowledge and recommendations she had for us. While we came with ideas for the trip, we replied on her advice and knowledge to plan what to see and how best to see it. For example, she knew in foggy weather, we would not be able to see Cliffs of Mohar from the top and was able to pivot and get us on a ferry boat to see them from below. This would not be possible if we planned this trip on our own! Annie also gave advice on accommodations when we were choosing between them. From jet lag, worried about driving without GPS as the cell phone reception wasn't great, Annie took all that stress away and instead, provided an incredible 4 days that were memorable! Anyone would be lucky to travel with you! Deborah and StevenWritten August 4, 2022
- Tourist2883630 contributionsGreat day with Annie!Annie was so wonderful and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time in Cork. She took us to the Blarney castle, the Mills, showed us the countryside, and then into town for some live pub music. Go see Annie if you are visiting the area!Written July 16, 2022
- misbrs0 contributionsAnnie O’DowdWe absolutely loved Annie she is our Irish daughter! She took such good care of us and saw to it that we saw just what we wanted to see and more. We spent 4 days with her and hated to say goodbye. Ireland was beautiful and we want to go back and will definitely see Annie again. You can’t go wrong with Annie.Written July 8, 2020
- TeresaGreer0 contributionsA Personal Guided Tour by the Best Guide in the World! In planning our tour of Southwest Ireland, I'm thrilled to have come across Annie's tour guide profile and scores of positive reviews. I personally chose Annie based on wonderful reviews and each one of those reviews proved to be "spot on". Annie, having grown up in the area we chose to tour constantly inserted hidden gems & spots to see along the way. Visiting Ireland was the dream of a lifetime for myself, husband and sister-in-law. Ireland is beautiful and what made it even more lovely was Annie. She is a delight to be around: personable, professional and attentive to each of our individual needs. Annie literally bent over backwards to help my husband (a coin collector) find a complete set of pre-Euro coins & currencies which involved calling and visiting friends along the way. She even dropped us off for lunch one day & returned after having shopped at a nearby antique store with the rest of coin collection! In a world of total complacency when it comes to delivering good client/customer service, Annie stands out and simply shines as an example of delivering results above and beyond. It's something many people long for these days. I felt so appreciative & connected with Annie, not just a guide, but a friend that I cried a little that we had to part at the train station. You will not go wrong with a tour with Annie. Ireland is beautiful- Go with Annie for the full amazing experience vs. some robotic impersonal tour guide that seems burned out on the job. Thanks Annie!Written September 24, 2019
- RichRuthG0 contributionsAnn O Dowd - Personal Guide in Ireland - Totally Worth It!Normally my wife and I organize our own travel activities and implement them. We have done it for years in more than a dozen countries and across the US and Canada. Why did we jump to using a personal guide when we went to Ireland for a week? 1) Our heavy schedule at home in the months before our trip meant we had far less time than we would have liked to plan in advance and read up on places. 2) While my wife has driven around the narrow rural roads in the UK before, it made me nervous. Having someone else do the driving means less stress and more time to look. No big bus on some narrow, road like the Ring of Kerry. Rather our guide, Annie, drove us around in a small but roomy van. 3) We communicated in advance by email, and of course during our first day with Annie, and she absorbed what Ruth likes and what I like and developed a string of ideas that suited our interests, time, and personalities -- and of course the changing weather. She then developed a daily custom plan for us. It's flexible. We can get out of the car and stop any where, or edit the plan with Annie as we go. So those are the three things that led to our engaging Annie for four days last year, and three and a half days this year. (Yes, we went back, and used her services for a second time!) What we discovered as we spent time with Annie the first trip, is that we became good friends in the process - she cared about us, wanted us to enjoy our vacation days, and not only drove and narrated geographical, historical, and cultural information but set up activities so that there was never a wait-time... everything was seamless. Her scores of local contacts meant that she could arrange a jaunting car ride, boat ride, and dinner plan so that all of the connecting hassle was eliminated and and the pleasures maximized. She is well experienced and skillful in organizing in such a way that we are participants together in an adventure. Normally when traveling, you can pick up little things about the culture and views of a country by talking with cab drivers, wait persons, and the random local one might meet. What we found with Annie, is how much you can learn from spending several days with a person, just casually. Annie is a thoughtful, intelligent, kind person and easy to talk with. Annie grew up in a village on the coast, is well educated, has been a teacher for over 20 years. Short of becoming a resident, having a local guide with you like Ann O Dowd is the next best way to get to know Ireland. We learned so much, had an awesome time with her on both trips, and cannot recommend her highly enough... if you are lucky enough that she can fit you into her busy life.Written September 1, 2019
- Suellen M0 contributionsAnnie’s Amazing All-AroundAnn O’Dowd is the perfect guide for the Ring of Kerry, Skellig Ring, or anywhere she goes! Traveling with Annie was like being with another sister. We spent three fun filled days with her on a very personalized tour with lots of attention to our interests and wonderful suggestions for additional things. I’d recommend Ann O’dowd to anyone and everyone! My next trip to Ireland will definitely be guided by Ann.Written August 30, 2019
- Mary M0 contributionsTours with the Incomparable Ann O’DowdMy sister and I spent three days with Ann O’Dowd touring Dingle, the Skellig Ring, the Ring of Kerry and the Kenmare area and every moment was a delight. As a native, she knows County Kerry like no other. I can only repeat what other reviewers have stated about Ann’s warm personality and knowledge. She is an exceptional person and guide, as well as a skillful driver. Ann listened carefully to our expressed wishes and interests and created 3 perfect tours for us. This was my third visit to Ireland and I have booked tours with Ann each time. If you need a guide in Ireland, please don’t hesitate to contact Ann O’Dowd at Kingdom Guided Tours (Annie’s Tours). You won’t find a more delightful person or a better guide.Written August 30, 2019

Her local knowledge and warm and welcoming manner were second to none. Annie even went out of her way to give us tips to maximize the rest of our trip to Ireland. The tour with Annie was a highlight of our trip and will provide many lasting memories.Written July 11, 2019

Annie truly has a gift. She developed the perfect 2-day itinerary for my family of 6, which includes 2 young children (infant and age 3) and my parents in their 60s, one of whom has mobility limitations. We were able to see so many beautiful parts of County Kerry in a short 2-day trip. We saw Blarney Castle, Killarney Town, part of the park, Dingle Peninsula, Slea Head, and Dingle Town. She picked us up amd dropped us at the train station, in her spacious, immaculate, and comfortable van. She went above and beyond the call of duty, minding the baby while he slept so the rest of us could do an activity together. She is knowledgeable, kind hearted, patient, and just a really good soul. Book your trip with Annie today, she'll help you make memories to last a lifetime.

My 4 friends and I booked a private tour with Annie, and let me just say she is an incredible tour guide. First, she was extremely accommodating and flexible. My friends and I were only in Killarney for a very short stay, so when I initially emailed to book a tour I was so relieved to hear that annie would make sure we saw all we could and that she’d get us to the train station in time to catch our train.
We went into the tour pretty blind, so we let Annie lead us with what she thought would be best to see in our timeframe and she did not disappoint.
She had so much knowledge to share with us, kept us on a great a schedule, had good recommendations, and overall made the tour so enjoyable. I’m so glad we squeezed this in and spent our half day with annie. We never would’ve seen so much of what we saw and we would’ve really been missing out. Can’t recommend Annie’s services enough!

We took a family trip last week and planned a 2 day private driving tour! We were lucky enough to have Annie as our tour guide! She was AMAZING! So personable and informative - she MADE our trip! We felt like she became part of our family. She knew so much about every area we visited, the history of each spot, the Irish culture and traditions. We learned so much from her while experiencing the beauty of Ireland. Annie listened to our thoughts and plans for each day, and made sure we checked each box while the sun was still out! We cannot recommend her highly enough. If we are ever able to go back to Ireland we will most definitely contact Annie! I cried when we left her!
