Day tour Connemara and Kylemore abbey
I recently took a tour with the wild Atlantic way tours from Galway. It was a very enjoyable and informative tour and I learnt plenty of the history of Galway city. We got to experience the rugged beauty of Connemara and also kylemore abbey. Kylemore Abbey is the most beautiful place I have ever been too and also the most peaceful. We had a three hour stop and believe me you need it to take it all in. If I was to go to Galway again I would go on tour with the wild Atlantic way tour company.

Gerry is the Man
Jun 2019 • Couples
My wife and I spent a delightful day learning more about the people and history of the Connemara coast. After 9 days of heavy driving , it was a treat to turn the wheel over to Gerry. He was an exceptional driver: telling jokes, singing songs and most importantly sharing his love for this wild country . We learned about the peat, went to Padrig Pierce's summer cottage, and explored the beauty of Kylemore Abby. We spent a full day together with never a dull moment. Gerry's love of Ireland is both deep and real.

A tour of unimaginable beauty
May 2019 • Family
I didn’t know what to expect, but this tour was phenomenal! Our guide was Gerry and he used his obvious love for the area to bring it to life for everyone on the trip!

The day was rainy and the mist obscured the scenery in certain parts of the trip. Gerry made up for that fact with his vivid descriptions of the countryside that were interspersed with his wealth of knowledge in historical facts and anecdotes - not to mention the occasional song or joke!

There is a part of this particular tour where you will have to choose to walk in the Connemara National Forest or visit the Kylemore Abbey. While I was torn on which to choose - I can’t recommend the Abbey enough! In case you haven’t looked it up - this is actually a castle! Set in a fairytale landscape of breathtaking beauty - walking the grounds and the walled-in garden will be well worth your while!

Everything about the rugged beauty of Connemara is mesmerizing and a true feast to the senses. Stunning.

Slightly misleadign
It should be noted that this tour is a 4.5 hour drive along the coastal Atlantic highway, with multiple stops for pics along the way. THEN you arrive at the park or the abbey. Our guide was lovely and super friendly and knowledgeable, I liked him a lot; however I don’t think the description really conveys this type of itinerary. Had we known it was such a long scenic drive we would not have done it. It’s a VERY long time in the bus. The description should be more straightforward, this trip finds you spending the entire day in the bus and only about 2 hours at the park Or the abbey.
