- Michele S00Allan and his Coach are the way to see the Wild Atlantic Way!Great full day tour with good value and we experienced important highlights of the Galway area. The coach was very comfortable and the coach driver and tour guide Allan was the best. Allan was funny with Irish jokes, knowledgable history and tips, plus he even showed us a great pub on the Aran Islands. The ferry ride was a little bumpy but the sun was shining on the Cliffs of Moher! The drive through the burren was fascinating and enjoyed not needing to drive those narrow roads!
- GlobetrottinTrudy00Amazing trip to the Cliffs of MoherI loved this tour with Wild Atlantic Way and Alan was our guide/driver. Alan is so funny, I loved his humor. He also provided a lot of information about the land and the history of Ireland. I learned so much from him. Just three of us on the bus were doing the cliff walk while the rest were doing a ferry to the Aran Islands then back to the Cliffs. I had more than enough time to walk from Doolin to the Visitors center at a nice slow pace on a beautiful sunny and warm day. I even got a chance to walk further along the cliffs and had a nice lunch at the Visitor center. We saw the unique landscape of the Burren on our way back to Galway.
- GlobetrottinTrudy00Fantastic hike and beautiful sceneryWonderful trip with 3 hours to hike Diamond Hill in Connemara National Park. This was plenty of time and I got some great pictures of the beautiful scenery. We saw tons of sheep on our way back to Galway. Mike was an excellent tour guide and driver. I learned so much about the land and history of Ireland from him.
- urbanguy00TWO Great Trips With Them! The first was to the Cliffs of Moher (a 2-hour stop there). Chris, our driver, was great. A born stand-up comedian, if there ever was one. And, he was incredibly informative. Lots of other stops, pictures, etc. Mike, the driver for our second trip was also great. We went to Connemara National Park for 3 hours. There was an option for that or for Kylemore Abbey. Again, lots of stops. Both trips were well organized. You leave from Kinlay Hostel, which is centrally located just "below" Eyre Square.
- Anna T00Beautiful dayJerry was a great driver and guide, although traffic was bad leaving Galway, Jerry made stops on the way back for us to be able to see the sights and take pictures. The rain came when we were on the bus and the sun came out when we stopped! Perfect day!
- sarahpN4581CW00Great Day TripAn excellent tour. The scenery was breathtaking and I'm really glad we added the Aran Islands and made a full day of it. The top of the cliffs can be pretty crowded on the walkway, so having a quiet portion on the island was great. Also, seeing the cliffs from the sea really added so much to the experience. Our guide, Alan, was great and provided a lot of useful and interesting history and information.
- Tsal M00Cliffs of Moher trail without a carWe are used to organise our trips ourselves and move by foot a lot, but as the public transport in Ireland is rather nonexistent, we had to choose organised trips for once. And this one was great! We took a bus from Galway alongside the coast through few villages and Burrens to Doolin. The views were amazing and the guide's information about history and culture of the area very interesting. In Doolin, we left the rest of the group (they paid for Arrans version of the trip) and went by foot from there to the Visitor Center on Mohers Cliffs along the cliffs. We had 5 hours for 8 km, so there was a plenty of time to get a coffee, enjoy educational material of the Center, and go further along the cliffs. If you spend less time in the Visitor Center, it's possible to get to the Moher Tower at Hag's Head and back in time. Then we left with a bus from the Visitor Center (the guide checked on us if we arrived alright) through Lindoosvarna and Burrens (where we missed a beautiful sightseeing because of heavy rain) and got back to Galway. Our guide was Alan and he was a great person for the job! The trail along the cliffs was somewhere between a muddy single stop to wider gravel path, not closer than 0.5 m to the edge and always bounded by fence of near pastures on one side. There was railing on cliff side only in some worst parts and around the Visitor Center. You cannot get lost, all the other ways are locked. But there were some kind of 0.5 - 1 m high gates (?) in the path which you had to overstep to get further. We had 30 km/h wind from the sea and it was unpleasant sometimes, but safe. I would be more careful with stronger rain although.
- maryblyek00Don't Miss ThisI've taken some outstanding tours during our month in Ireland but this was at the top, or at least at the top with a couple of other tours. SO unique!! We got to see the cliffs during the drive, during the cruise (with commentary) & then were driven to to the top where we could walk to the "peaks" and walk around the visitor center. The cliffs are beyond stunning. Then the trip to the middle island of the Arans. WOW. I had no idea what to expect - I figured it was just an island with a pub and castle, but our guide called the residents (only 280 people live on the island) & we were given a tour around the island in a horse & buggy. And what a stunning island. We drove a tiny road through endless stone walls overlooking the ocean. Joe, our buggy driver, was so friendly and so much fun. The information & the beauty of the Burren - again, stunning. And last but not least, Alan, our guide and driver, was beyond outstanding. Funny, informative, friendly, helpful. I loved how much time we were given at each stop. Alan told us stories about villages & Ireland in general & the terrain we passed through. Fabulous, fabulous. LOVED this tour!
- 289hanaa00AmazingAmazing landscape it was even more beautiful than I imagined, though we were very lucky with the weather☀️. Our driver and guide Alan taught us some very interesting things about the villages we drove through and of course about the cliffs and the islands. He also made some nice jokes that lit up the mood on the bus. Would 100% recommend this tour❤️
- 264alainar00Fun Tour with Beautiful ViewsThis was a great day trip if you’re looking to get to the Doolin area from Galway but don’t want to drive. The pickup in Galway was convenient and timely and the drive was full of Ireland’s history and a few jokes too. The ferry to the aran islands was about 15 minutes. We spent 2 hours on the island and could grab lunch, take a tour, explore, etc. Then you get back onto a ferry and boat around the Cliffs of Moher. It was great seeing the cliffs so up close, but I did feel like one side of the boat got much better views than the other. After the ferry around the cliffs we got back on the bus and drove up to the cliffs area to see the Cliffs of Moher from above. I wish we had more time here, an hour was simply not enough. There are two stops made on the way back to Galway that I think could be removed in favor of more time on the cliffs. Overall a super fun day exploring the western coast of Ireland!
- Travelingbushbys00What a great day!!Allen was our driver & he was great!! Gave us a lot of history of Ireland on the drive. This was well worth it. Going to the Aran Islands & taking the horse-drawn carriage was well worth it. Seeing the cliffs from the water was stunning, then to go to the top & see them was amazing!! We would definitely recommend this tour!!
- mkosater100Highly Recommend for a Beautiful Day OutMy partner and I booked this a week before going, and we're so glad we did. Having everything planned for us was wonderful, and we loved our tour guide, Jeffrey. The pickup and dropoff locations were great, and all the sites were gorgeous.
- W5538QEmaryb00Petra House B&BWonderful place to stay to explore Galway and the Aran Islands! Amy and Paul run a beautiful B&B with delicious breakfasts and charming, super clean bedrooms. Perfect location to walk everywhere - we never took a taxi anywhere, just the ferry to the island. We highly recommend Petra House!
- normp74000Just enough of a lot of things to see.Just enough of a lot of things to see. You can easily spend more time at each of the spots this tour takes you, and if your interests and time allow, you might choose that, but for those like us who wanted to see a lot in only a day, this was perfect! The bus left promptly at 9:00 am. Pro note, if you get there early, you’ve a better choice of seats. We were there at 8:30 and had pretty much the pick of the bus. Once on the trip, our guide, Alan, was delightfully fun, very friendly, informative and easy to understand. He provided clear information and detailed instructions on what was expected. There were a few transfers: bus to boat, boat to island, island to boat, boat to bus. He was very clear where and when we were expected, and that made it very helpful. As a result, no one was late and no one had any issues. That was very welcome! The island was quite fun! We took advantage of the horse cart (15 euros each) and got to see sights we might not have otherwise. The cliffs were incredible from the water. Very impressive, then seeing them again from the top was worth doing this tour. Wow! Thank you Alan!
- TheresaParker6800Boats, island, and cliffs (oh my!)We had a wonderful time on our tour! Alan was a fantastic guide...he set expectations kindly (but very clearly) so we could stay on schedule and so no one was left behind (particularly on Inisheer). On the island, he helped us book a horse/carriage ride, which allowed us to see more of the island, obtain a of history from our driver, and enjoy lunch after the ride - all without feeling rushed. He shared short stories and bits of history as well. We had beautiful weather for the tour. The bus ride to Doolin was lovely, the boat ride to the islands was great fun (we got to stand in the front on the lower level and had great views), the scenery everywhere was stunning, and seeing the Cliffs from above and below was quite a treat. Though it was a long day (9:00 to 18:30), it didn't feel that long. We'd highly recommend this tour!

This was, unfortunately, not the tour that I'd originally booked. I wanted to go to the Aran Islands and see the Cliffs from the boat, but I was there at the end of the season and their ferry partners quit early, so they offered me this tour instead. I'm still sad to have missed the islands, but I'm so glad I decided to take them up on their offer! My tour guide/driver was excellent, knowledgeable, and funny. We had a good amount of time at the individual locations (~2 hours at the Cliffs), and we stopped at a lot of places to see different sites on the west coast of Ireland. The only caveat I would add is that this is NOT a small group tour. Based on previous experiences I was expecting there to be 12-16 people (like a large van); this wasa full-sized bus (we had 35, but there were definitely empty seats). So if you're looking for something more intimate, this might not be the one for you. (A second caveat that I'm not sure other companies will offer smaller tours; my experiences were with tours in other places.) They did require masking on the bus, so even though there were a lot of us it felt mostly okay, COVID-wise (as okay as you can be with 35 other people).

Thank you for your review. We've just completed our second summer season in Covid times and it's still very difficult to predict passenger numbers with any certainty. To be fair our ferry partners operated everyday during the summer that the weather permitted. Unfortunately, come the end of the season, passenger numbers fell dramatically and it was decided to curtail their season early, about 2 weeks in all. Anyways, I'm delighted to learn you enjoyed our Cliffs of Moher and The Burren Day Tour. We use smaller, more intimate, vehicles on our Connemara Day Tours as they enable us to access areas no other tour operator can. All our staff have completed the Failte Ireland Covid Safety Charter and it's great when someone notices the efforts we're making to keep everyone safe.

My son and I did a one say sightseeing tour with Cliffs of Moher last week and Gerry was our driver. It was a brilliant day that went on perfectly. As we drove to the Cliffs Gerry told us some history facts, song songs, told jokes, and made sure we were entertained and tuned to the passing scenery. He was fantastic and very attentive to our needs, checking if we were ok, if we understood his accent, if we needed anything, giving hints what to do on our stops and what else to see around Galway. We have stopped to visit a Dunguaire castle, then had 2,5 hours to walk around on Cliffs of Moher, stopped at Doolin for lunch and drove back by Galway by the sea. Perfect day with great weather- the day started cloudy but by the time we reached the Cliffs the sun came out and it was quite warm and absolutely gorgeous to see the blue sky and the bleu see on the walk on the Cliffs.

The trip was fantastic and the cliffs were absolutely breathtaking! Our driver Gerry was so nice and lovely. He told us many interesting facts about the area and its history - but also jokes and sang a little! That was so lovely. We can highly recommend taking this trip with Wild Atlantic Way Day Tours.

This was a great tour led by Alan. He provided some good Irish music during the journey and some interesting facts about the cities we passed through on the coach. He allowed us a good amount of time at each destination and was mindful of other passengers' time. Highly recommend this tour if you're in Galway - the Burren was beautiful and the Cliffs of Moher did not disappoint! What a great day!

The best part of the tour was our driver/guide Peadar. You can always find a bus to take you around but a driver/guide as willing and enthusiastic to provide an excellent experience is not easy. Peadar went above and beyond what we could expect from a driver guide in many ways.
The tour is well designed and time management was never an issue. While the highlight of the tour was Cliffs of Moher, stops around the Burren and lunch break at Doolin was well worth it.
The tour involves driving relatively long stretches of country roads. Thus, a careful and experienced driver is a must. A big bus can get a bit bumpy and rocky on these roads. Our driver was well aware of this and was never too fast or abrupt in his driving.
Peadar was also very generous with sharing his knowledge and wisdom about Irish history and culture throughout the day. He also provided pro-tips at each of our stops. These little nudges made the tour considerably better. In my previous three visits to the cliffs I never knew I could borrow a pair of binoculars from the information desk, thanks Peadar.
All in all, this is a well designed day tour executed by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide.

We went to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren with Mike, the driver. He made the trip really interesting during the whole drive telling us facts and stories about Ireland, Galway and any other thing that he thought would interest us. We also made many stops for doing some photos and walk a bit during the 2:30 hours driving.
When we arrived to the Cliffs of Moher we had 2 hours of free time, walking around the cliffs and taking some photos. Finally, Mike took us to a great pub to enjoy a nice meal and we returned to Galway on a different route and with new stories.
The only part that I missed was having a little more time to enjoy the food at the pub. Other that that, highly recommended!!

Incredible! Gerry was a great guide! Despite the crazy weather, he still managed to make the trip fun and educational. I recommend to anyone who wants to see the coast through a comprehensive guided tour, but also on a budget. It was more difficult in some ways because I went in off season and many places were closed, but even so it was a great experience.

This was a terrific tour. The Cliffs did not disappoint. The weather was good and while there were a lot of people there, it's also quite spread out so we didn't feel crowded. The tour allowed 2 hours at the Cliffs, which was sufficient, but we could have stayed longer. Our driver Alan was fantastic -- funny and knowledgeable and knew not to talk to much. He pointed out and provided background on points of interest along the way, which helped us appreciate the trip more. There were some technical glitches with the microphone, but otherwise things went smoothly. We stopped at the Dungaire Castle, which was like an Irish castle out of central casting. However, the restrooms were only available if you went on a tour. A true restroom stop wasn't available until lunch in Doolin so you might want to skip that second cup of coffee in the morning. All in all, a great experience.

We really enjoyed our tour from Galway to the Cliffs of Moher. Our tour guide Mike was very friendly and knowledgeable, providing a wide range of details and information about the various places we visited throughout the course of journey.
We would definitely recommend this to anyone who is spending a few nights in Galway and is interested in learning about the Cliffs of Moher and the surrounding areas.

I'm glad we went with this tour as a way to see the cliffs. It gave us a few extra sights along the route that we wouldn't have seen otherwise and our tour guide Peadar had a lot of background info on the history of Ireland and the area that was very interesting. When we got to the cliffs we had a couple hours to explore which felt like a good amount of time to be able to see multiple areas of it. Overall I think this was a good deal and I'd recommend people who are looking to see the cliffs check it out.

You can purchase tickets at the castle. On our tour we didn't really have enough time during the castle stop to see more than the outside. Could depend on the driver and length of stop though.

There are several stops along the way. We were able to leave the bus and wander around at a certain point in the burren as well as a few other places along the way. It may depend on the driver how many stops you make and where but our driver was absolutely fantastic!

The Cliffs of Moher & Burren Day Tour from Galway was the tour that I took and that also stopped for a wonderful lunch in Doolin. You get about 2 hours in Doolin, and the pub they chose to have lunch is spectacular. I love Doolin and have spent a few days there on a previous tour of Ireland. If possible go back and stay a night or two.
