About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 294staceyk0 contributionsGreat Castle experienceBeing able to climb up in the castle is amazing. Little tricky with the steps and having a rope to hold onto, but well worth it. I didn't kiss the Blarney stone, but I already have the gift of gab. The grounds around the caste make for a nice walk with the poison garden; very interesting. Worth it to see and do!Written December 3, 2024
- saaamanthalynn0 contributionsPerfect non touristy tourist thing to doWe enjoyed this tour as it was the perfect non touristy tourist thing to do. I really liked the fact that you’re just driven where you need to go, and you do the exploring on your own without being paraded around by someone holding a flag that clearly indicates you’re tourists. The Marina Market was the perfect ending activity as well after viewing the castle. The bus was comfortable and modern, and the only big tourist stand out but I can look past that.Written December 2, 2024
- JackBurton3000 contributionsUnsafe driver, unresponsive company. The first day of our tour went as expected and as advertised. Our driver Dave was pleasant and professional and we had a nice time. However, day two was the worst tour we have ever experienced. It felt unsafe and was not as advertised. It started at 7:10am when we checked into the warm Cork office 10 minutes before scheduled pickup time. We were directed outside to stand near the empty shuttle bus. We waited for over 25 minutes standing in cold 38 degree Fahrenheit/ 3 degrees Celsius weather. We then got into the cold shuttle bus where we needed to wear gloves and hats on the bus to stay warm. We stopped in Limerick only for paid restrooms and there was no chance to see the City (only 19 minutes total time including walking across street and up stairs). We barely had time to use the restroom or get water or coffee/tea. Based on the posted itinerary, we expected some brief time to see the city. We then drove past St. John’s castle. We had no chance to stop or take pictures and were unable to really see castle from the bus. Based on the posted itinerary, this seems very misleading as we did not really get to see the site. All this time and through the trip, the driver, Brian did not seem to know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle. He stalled out on our journey. However, that did not stop him from driving over the posted speed limit and driving very aggressively throughout our journey. He even joked that he was going to “drive the shuttle like he stole it”. This was our biggest concern- safety. He was actually pulled over by the police for speeding on the way to the Cliffs of Moher and I could hear the police officer said that multiple cars complained of the tour bus illegally overtaking them as he was speeding, which I can confirm happened. Brian also ran over speed bumps at full speed through multiple towns and created a very uncomfortable / bumpy drive. My sister and I both felt sick driving with Brian and neither of us is prone to motion sickness. Needless to say, this was awful as we traveled multiple hours with him. The Police Officer continued to follow the tour bus for 10 minutes as I believe he was concerned for the passengers safety. We did not stop at Doolin for lunch, as was advertised on the posted itinerary. We went straight to the Cliffs of Moher for one hour and 30 minutes. After the Cliffs, we went to a Cafeteria style restaurant for lunch with limited options. The staff there was friendly, which was good because for the next two hours and 25 minutes we waited there and back at the Cliffs of Moher visitor center ( almost four hours in total). We did not go to Bunratty castle as advertised. Instead another Driver, Shay, took us to another Driver, Richard, for our return trip. Shay was very nice and apologetic. Richard was also very nice and a good driver. The rest of our trip was uneventful, as we made our way back to Dublin. Needless to say, this was a very negative experience and not what we expected from such a reputable and well reviewed company. I contacted PaddyWagon multiple times with my concerns, but they did not even respond. Would not recommend.Written December 2, 2024
- Ever8130 contributionsPaddywagon Tours is the way to travel in Ireland! We took a trip to the Giant's Causeway from Belfast. (this one it’s not listed in the dropdown menu). The experience matched the quality of our Dublin trip: a modern, clean, and comfortable bus. Our driver was attentive and kind, ensuring a safe journey while sharing engaging stories and local history along the way. We highly recommend Paddywagon Tours!Written December 1, 2024
- Ever8130 contributionsGiant's Causeway: A Must-See Destination! The Giant's Causeway is an extraordinary place that shouldn't be missed. And at this time of year, it's pleasantly uncrowded, allowing you to fully appreciate its stunning landscape. The unique rock formations are truly remarkable and offer an unforgettable experience. We loved the sunny day trip to Giants Causeway. I bet you will like it too!Written December 1, 2024
- Q6646UTmarianar0 contributionsGreat day trip!Great tour with beautiful views! Paul, the tour guide, was amazing. Really nice, with great knowledge of places and history. We also suggested loads of restaurants and pubs in Dublin! Wonderful day.Written December 1, 2024
- Katie_Horn20 contributionsDon't Book for a SundayWe loved Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle (and kissing the Blarney Stone!), and getting a bit of time in Cork. However, don't book on a Sunday because the English Market is closed. Without it, there wasn't much to do other than shop and get a quick bite to eat. If you want to kiss the Blarney Stone, you can actually do it for free, have someone film you doing it, then go to the bottom to see if you want to purchase one of their pictures of you kissing the stone for €10. That way, if you don't like their pics, you still have the video on your phone. Don't pay any money unless you want their photo that you see before purchasing, and if so, pay at the bottom. I will say, the staircase to the stone is very windy and small. People with mobility issues may struggle.Written December 1, 2024
- Jessica V0 contributionsBus tripOur driver was great. Shay knew a lot of fun facts. He kept the tour on schedule for the itinerary. The bus was clean and comfortable After talking with family. We think it would have been better without the stop in cork. More time at Blarney. Rock do Cashel was beautiful and just the right amount of time (30mins)Written November 30, 2024

- KD94381570 contributionsChange in itinerary disappointingThe experience was good, but not perfect. Michael and Liam were very good guide and driver. We had just the right amount of time to explore the Rock of Cashel. It was pretty cool place but would have liked more information once we actually got to the site. Next we went to Blarney which was a change to the itinerary. Exploring the castle and gardens was really amazing. However, because we were there through lunchtime (to 2:30), it wasn’t enough time to also explore the wool shop and eat. I took 15 minutes to grab a sandwich but that left no time for the shop which I was greatly disappointed with. Had we stopped in Cork first, that would have easily taken care of getting lunch and I would have had full time for both the castle and the shop. Cork was a waste of time. The English Market had all fresh foods, mostly unprepared, so you couldn’t really purchase anything. I had to kill time in a department store. I was pretty mad about that actually. I am contemplating how I can get back to Blarney on my last day in Dublin so I can do the shop (according to my daughter is wonderful).Written November 28, 2024
- MooneyMV0 contributionsGlendalough and water fallsSean was informative and fun. Great info on contemporary Irish history and politics. If you want to do the trails all around the lakes at Glendalough you need 3.5 hours. Seeing the waterfalls was awesome.Written November 25, 2024
- Ever8130 contributionsDon’t miss this opportunity and just go there!About Paddywagon Tours: well organized tour agents, comfy and clean bus and attentive and kind driver/guide. I recommend this agency. Glendalough is breathtakingly beautiful. You'll be captivated by the ancient stone houses and ruins, the historic cemetery, and the scenic walking paths. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring your camera. You’ll find food trucks near the trail to the lake, perfect for a quick bite. Don’t miss this visit; it’s an experience you won’t want to lose out on!Written November 25, 2024
- W4046RAaliciar0 contributionsBeautiful half dayIt was amazing!!! Alex, our driver, gave us some history on the way there and we loved it since we could understand more of the place we were visiting. He also walked a bit with us to show us the way to the lakes and waterfalls. It was the perfect half day tour, since we saw a bit of the outside of the city but without loosing a whole day. Even though it rained, the walk was still absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed it so much!!!!!!! We’ll definitely recommend it to anyone we know if they come to Dublin for a few days. Thank you Alex!Written November 20, 2024
- Trevor L0 contributionsTotally worth the trip!Ok this is a must tour! It was a great experience and we totally enjoyed it. The couch was comfortable and the driver nice. Only reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the address where we were told to meet didn’t exist. We were told to meet at the Paddy’s Palace only to find out the place no longer exists. Fortunately most of the tour was on the right street wandering up and down trying to find the place. The bus showed up on the other side of the road from where we were told. It started the tour with most of us nervous we were in the wrong place, which we were, But aside from that certainly GO! Its was worth the trip.Written November 19, 2024
- DayTrip3821730 contributionsGiant's Causeway and Glendalough with Sean were perfect! We did two tours (Giant's Causeway and Glendalough), both with the same driver Sean and both were absolutely lovely. Everything logistical from booking to the pickup was perfect. The tours were great and our driver Sean was fantastic. He gave lots of great information without it being too much. He was also very accomodating.Written November 18, 2024

We took 3 different day tours with Paddywagon and this was the most disappointing one. It was a long journey and tiring one. In the end the most anticipated tour of all was a big disappointment. The cliff of Moher was filled with fog and we couldn't set our eyes on the magnificent cliff and its view. The driver told us it's the 2nd time he has seen it. I am just appalled that this wasn't mentioned to the driver before heading off. This trip should have been refunded back to the travellers who booked their tour for that day. I don't usually give negative reviews but I feel this is something that put a dampner on my entire trip. I hope Paddywagon tour organizers can be more transparent with their tour bookers about this sort of things and offer refund or offer another type of tour.

Pickup was efficient on a comfortable bus but no WIFI or charging ports as advertised when booking. Destinations were all stunning and worth a visit but driver provided little commentary or information throughout (no separate guide on coaches). One of the stops on the booked itinerary was not visited as advertised (Burren Smokehouse) - driver informed us this was due to it being closed, but a quick Google check showed it was open. Based on the above very average experience particularly compared to another tour we took with a competitor.

Richard was our driver and tour guide . Had a great time with him as well as at Cliffs of Moher. Two things I would request to take care are, few tourists are of middle age and hence it will be advisable to halt the bus for nature`s call after one hr rather than two hrs. We had terrible time. Second, please indicate the tourist which are carrying there own food stuff that there are benches outside the restaurant where they can have there own meal, well in advance.

This was a highlight of our trip! We happened to go on the tour during hurricane Lorenzo and our tour guide did everything to make sure this was still the best tour! He got us there with enough time to see everything at the cliffs and took us to a castle to make up for the cliffs closing early. It was honestly such an incredible adventure! I truly could not recommend this tour company any more! Next time we go back to Ireland we will absolutely be using this company again! The ease of booking and the instructions for the whole day were absolutely seamless. Thank you paddy wagon tours, you really gave us a memory to last a lifetime!!

I had a very poor experience with Paddywagon Tours. Not only did they change our itinerary without any prior notification, but they are unresponsive to the complaint emails. The other local tour companies are more accommodative, fun and less expensive. Please do checkout Finn Mc Cool Tours. I also did a guided tour with them this month and the experience was much better.

Paddy wagon Tours is very good at collecting money…they demand in advance, but very poor at communication and planning. I booked a “private tour”, was billed and collection DEMANDED in advance and when I contacted them on the SAME day as I paid, they did not respond and arrived at my hotel at the wrong hour, did not get me tickets, and responded to my email AFTER my scheduled pickup time. If you want poor service at a high price, use Paddywagon Tours.

Super fun, scenic visit to this gorgeous part of the Irish west coast. Paddywagon picked us up in central Dublin and bussed us over to Galway then to the Cliffs with a couple of stops on the way. Our guide, Josh was great, friendly and knowledgeable, enough information without being constantly on the microphone. The driver was excellent and squeezed through some toughI learned some new legends: e.g. the origin of the term Lynching among them.
We spent a good amount of time at each stop off point; I didn't feel rushed at any of them (though I'm not a big shopper!). We were at the cliffs in a Yellow Level storm but it was totally worth it and Josh's guidance on waiting 20 min for the main showers to pass helped somewhat (though still got pretty soaked even with waterproof jackets. Still had great views and we saw the cliffs in their usual state (i.e. rain).
We took a different route back, stopping off at Barack Obama's cousin's motorway pit-stop.
Highly recommended.

The best part of the tour was the Cliffs of Moher. We got very lucky and had a very clear view on the day we were there. However, there were other aspects of the tour that were frustrating.
Every stop felt rushed. If I'd had more time, I would've done an overnight trip to the west coast. I would also have reversed the route we took. We got to Galway around 10am and had to leave by 11:30am. Most of the shops were closed, and the Christmas Market that the tour guide told us about did not open until 12:00pm. If we'd gone to the Cliffs first, we could've enjoyed Galway more in the afternoon when more of the shops and restaurants were open.
Also, we didn't stop to eat until nearly 3:30pm, and we only had 40 minutes, which felt very rushed. Luckily, I had packed some snacks and gotten a coffee in Galway. I would recommend bringing snacks, and/or purchasing food in the morning that you can eat on the bus.
The bus was freezing! It was a very cold day, and the driver did not turn on the heat. We asked him to, and it seemed like he did for a few minutes, but then turned it off again. There were 6 of us on the mini-bus, and we were all shivering even with our coats, etc.
It was nice to meet and chat with fellow travelers. The Cliffs of Moher are definitely worth a visit, but it may also be worth looking at other tour companies.

Richard was our tour guide and driver to Clifts of Moher Experience departing from Dublin (Molley Malone Statue) He was very punctual taking us to the bus so consider not to take this tour if your expecting to be few minutes late. He was so funny, cosy and easygoing with all of us, showing interesting places during the trip even funny facts like mortgages prices in Ireland, housing prices and random facts about history and personal life which it's good ... I would say he really enjoy what he does. Stops were on time, the bus was complete clean, not speeding at the time we were listening music played directly from the bus. After visiting all places offered we went to city center for the final drop off. I strongly disagree in the fact when we were close to Dublin or approaching last stop he started asking for tips ( jokes and directly request) I really think tips are not mandatory and it's up to yourself. By the way, he closed the back door and only way you have to get out of the bus it's by the frontal door were he was waiting for you expecting tips. Probably that's why he initially ask how many Americans are on board. Despite of the tips request, the overall experience was amazing. (10/10) and we would like to repeat soon maybe on Belfast with Paddy wagon tours

The tour was amazing! You can tell that Ciaran and the company love to share the history of Ireland. We laughed all the way to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. I would highly recommend this tour company, especially if you’re interested in learning about Ireland and the Irish people. Bonus they have a restaurant that plans for you to stop for lunch so you’re not wasting 45 minutes at the Cliffs of Moher gift shop. When I come back to Ireland I will definitely travel with them.

If taking this tour in the winter months (we are considering coming the first week of Feb) will we be able to make it to the Cliffs of Moher before sunset and have enough time to see everything before it gets dark? In the winter around Feb I believe sunset is around 5:20pm, so arriving at 4:30pm seems like it would be rather tight, not to mention there is a possibility we could run late on the arrival time. Can someone help me to confirm?
