About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- V2WRharrya0 contributionsDublin, Killarney, Galway and more in 2024Back in the USA fondly recalling our recent trip, I must let you know that our tour with Lorraine remains a highlight. She was fabulous! In addition to being the greatest guide, she engaged on any topic that came up, Ireland related or not. We all said over and over how lucky we were to have such a talented person to show us the ropes.Written October 2, 2024
- frankcN3772LLe0 contributionsWe had a multi day tour with Gerard and it is the only way I would ever see Ireland and County Kerry again!!!Gerard goes well above and beyond anything you could expect from a tour operator. They say that you get what you pay for. With Gerard you get much more than you pay for! His knowledge of Irish history combined with his local knowledge and obvious love of his country, make for a wonderful experience! He went well out of his way to go to the spot where my Grandmother was raised, did it with at best , sketchy directions and did it all with a smile. I cannot recommend him highly enough! When I do go back for a golf tour, I know exactly who I will call!!Written September 21, 2024
- Sunshine273616118550 contributionsWonderful three day tourThe private three day tour with Gerard was terrific. Highly recommend taking a private tour. Gerald and his colleague Paddy were very knowledgable and took us to places we would never have gone to on our own. It was also great that we did not have to drive, particularly on the narrow roads. We made our own schedule so we did not feel rushed and were able to take in all of the beauty at our leisure. Overall a great experience and the best way to see the Ring of Kerry, Dingle and the Cliffs of Moher.Written September 16, 2024
- Relax254913204320 contributionsBrilliant day tour of the Dingle Peninsula! My husband, son and I did a day tour around the Dingle Peninsula with Gerard Scott, and it was the highlight of our time in Ireland! Gerard met us in the morning at our hotel in Killarney. He’s cheerful and easy going, and we felt comfortable with him immediately. We began with a stop at Inch Beach, and then continued our drive throughout the peninsula with many more brilliant stops and sites. He kept us entertained with stories about the area and its history, and the coastal views were breathtaking. We had a lovely lunch on the coast and a chance to do a bit of shopping too. We capped off the day with stops at Ross Castle and the Killarney House and Gardens. We were fortunate to have a beautiful, sunny day but I think we would have had a wonderful time even if it had been raining. Thank you, Gerard, for the fantastic day and memories!Written July 23, 2024
- Sherri M0 contributionsCan’t wait to return!!!Gerard Scott was an awesome tour guide. He was very familiar with The Killarney area. We spent 2 full days visiting lots of very special and scenic spots in and around The Ring of Kerry and beyond. I highly recommend Gerard for anyone interested in seeing and learning about this beautiful country.Written June 27, 2024
- K4498OCgregm0 contributions11-Day Epic Tour of the Emerald Isle with "40 Shades of Green"My husband and I were very fortunate to experience a luxury tour in Ireland with Gerard Scott, the best guide and driver one could hope for! He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the country: its history, music, culture, and has a wonderfully fun and cheerful personality!! Gerard first met us in Kilkenny, drove us to the Waterford Crystal Showroom, then to the start of the Wild Atlantic Way, the picturesque town of Kinsale, where we enjoyed some amazingly fresh seafood. He drove us then to his hometown of Killarney and secured tickets for us to see the "Celtic Steps" show which we enjoyed immensely! During our stay at the fabulous Lake Hotel, we toured the Muckross House, Ross Castle, the Torc Waterfalls and walked stunningly scenic trails in Killarney National Park. Following lunch and shopping in Kenmare in the Beara region, a memorable stop on the way to Dingle the sandy Inch Beach. Our overnight stay at Heaton's Guest House was great with it's lovely views of Dingle Bay. Jaw dropping views were also experienced at the panoramic scenes of Slea Head as we continued our journey which culminated that day with an opulent afternoon tea at the most elegant Adare Manor in Limerick. Our stay at Sheedy's B&B was excellent example of true Irish hospitality in Doolin where we enjoyed traditional music and great meals at local pubs. The visit to the Perfumery and the Hazel Mountain Chocolate were delightful stops at the Burren, County Clare. Ballynahinch Castle Hotel in the Connemara region was a most impressive setting! Visited the stunning Kylemore Abbey, and the Killary Fjord where we witnessed a demonstration of sheep herding, held baby lambs and actually helped with the shearing! On the way up to Donegal, stopped at Glencar Alpaca Farm, walked with animals as we took in the amazing lake views. Lough Eske Castle Hotel in Donegal was lovely. 30 minutes south of Donegal, Gerard brought us to the Belleek Pottery showroom, the edge of Northern Ireland, where we did some shopping! Our last accommodation was the most impressive and luxurious Ashford Castle in Cong, county Mayo! Had a fun morning walk with the Irish wolfhounds and their trainer, and enjoyed the scenic boat cruise on Lake Corrib. "The Quiet Man" movie sites and memorabilia in the Cong Village was fun to see!! Epic tour! Brilliant itinerary!! All went well smoothly and the weather cooperated beautifully. Thank you Gerard for the wonderful journey and memories of Ireland! We will cherish it all!Written June 24, 2024
- sallyo3100 contributionsBest of the Best!We have been touring exclusively with Killarney Guided Tours for more than a decade and no matter how many times we come to Ireland, we will never choose to tour with anyone else. First class itineraries, vehicles and guides each and every time without fail. We toured a bit of the West coast this trip, choosing to cover less miles but locations more in depth. Great recommendation by Gerard! We are already planning our next visit.Written June 8, 2024
- I7907QBcaitlind0 contributionsThe Perfect Guided Tour of the Ring of Kerry - family heritage and gorgeous viewsIf we could have made a "wish list of qualities" to conjure up the perfect tour guide for our day around the Ring of Kerry, with a focus on family heritage sites, we would have fallen short of what we actually found in Gerard. He superceded all of our expectations! He is kind, professional, knowledgeable, amiable, and he has a great singing voice on top of it all! He really listened, and tailored the drive to our interests. (To think that I might have missed Kerry Woolen Mills without his guidance makes me want to cry; it was heaven for a knitter!) Instead of a pre-scripted, strictly-scheduled excursion, we had the freedom of wander joyfully, stop for photos of a foal in the blooming flowers, skip ahead where needed. It felt like we were all working together to craft a perfect family history + sites of Kerry day. He left us just the right amount of privacy to wander a meaningful cemetary, and pointed us enthusiastically to places that held emotional value to us, as well as to the standard tourism sites we shouldn't miss, taking photos, and just in general being easy company. The music fit the emotional tenor of the drive and he gave a wealth of information in casual conversation. In planning our trip we chose to allocate a larger piece of the travel budget to hiring a private driver in Kerry, and Stephanie at "Infinite Ireland" recommended Gerard. In looking back at the trip, our time with him was a true highlight and absolutely worth it. We will be back someday for the full "Wild Atlantic Way" - a tour with him is worth its own trip to Ireland!Written June 8, 2024
- J4556KOdavidw0 contributionsA day on the ring like no otherOur day trip with Girard was unexpectedly and wonderfully filled with gorgeous views, special little experiences, laughs and wows! that we're still integrating. Girard more than knows his territory, gave us terrific travel advice and made the investment of time and money completely worthwhile. We're still integrating all we took in with him. Thank you, Girard, for your remarkable flexibility and experience -- not to mention the comfort!Written May 18, 2024

- fallstarfarseer490 contributionsSecond Time as good as the First!I traveled with Gerard in 2018 and it was the Highlight of a 2 Week trip over 4 European countries. It was one of the main reasons I decided to return to Ireland this year and the second time was JUST as great! If I can make it back to Ireland again I'll be back to Killarney again! Everything was so easy and he really made the days flexible to accommodate Family history searches, sightseeing, and moving my base from Limerick to Killarney and finally to Galway. Also provided excellent recommendations for food, music, and activities along the way! I CANNOT Recommend highly enough!Written April 18, 2024
- ChrisBuckeye10 contributionsRing of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, and CliffsAn amazing tour for the family! Bertie and Gerard were the best guides imaginable with local knowledge of all areas. - TwoRoamers0 contributionsA wonderful experienceThis was a fantastic tour around the Ring of Kerry and Skellig peninsula. It was obvious that our guide Gerard not only loved his native Killarney region and was extremely knowledgeable but was also a delight to ride with. He quickly communicated with us in the States as we planned our trip and promptly collected us from our hotel at the prerearranged time. It was leisurely but covered the beautiful region completely and gave us an historical and cultural experience at a pace that adapted to our needs and interests. He knew many of the folks in the towns and villages that we stopped at. It was a great experience and affordable compared to similar tours. Don't miss the opportunity to have this experience.Written March 8, 2024
- travelhownd0 contributionsRemarkable private tour of the Wild AtlanticGerard from Killarney Guided Tours is an amazing driver/guide. We gave him the dates and length of time we’d be on Ireland’s West Coast, and he tailored a tour for us. Included were private tours of the Ring of Kerry, Dingle and Slea Head, the Cliff’s of Moher as well as Kylemore and Connemara National Park. We took a train from Dublin to Killarney – easy and fast, but I’m sure you can hire someone to drive you there and Gerard may be able to help. He met us at our hotel and together we traveled over 4 days, staying in 2 different cities. Gerard is a trained guide who knew all about the history and contemporary life of every corner we visited. His knowledge is amazing and he has a personality to match. We left him knowing we hadn’t missed a thing, and we didn’t have to navigate some difficult drives! We booked directly with Killarney Guided Tours through emails and PayPal, but he also can be found through Viatour and Tours by Locals. We’ve already passed his information on to others. Hire him if you can, you won’t be disappointed!Written February 27, 2024

Killarney Guided Tours is a must-do when visiting Ireland! Gerard Scott is the driver you want: Guide, Historian, Storyteller, Personable, Photographer, Musician, etc. He picked us up in Dublin, and off we went for 6 days on our chosen itinerary to see most of Ireland. The beauty of it was Gerard filled in many gaps with his knowledge of " Off the beaten path " places. He knows everyone, especially in Killarney, and helped us secure bookings for spontaneous sites, if needed.
When we return, Gerard's our guy...No doubt about it!

Annie was a fabulous guide for my son and I! She was so thoughtful in determining what we’d like to see and making sure we had the experiences we’d hoped for! She was so knowledgeable about the history of Ireland, its traditions and past times and was so personable (extremely important for this type of trip). She went above and beyond (brought me gloves for the chilly days) and had excellent dining and shopping recommendations. I feel I’ll be disappointed by other tours going forward!!

Our small group had a grand 4-day experience touring southern and western Ireland with Gerard as our driver and guide. Very knowledgeable about the country and its history. A kind, good-humored man. The vehicle was new and clean and comfortable. I believe we saw more of the real Ireland than most visitors. Strongly recommend this service for a true Ireland experience.

After a long and unexpected travel hiatus due to Covid, we were thrilled to be back in Ireland and on tour with Killarney Guided Tours. We will never travel with any other company no matter how many times we return. Always relaxing to let someone else do the driving for us. Just when we think we've seen it all, Killarney Guided Tours takes us to places we've never been before. Felt they were going above and beyond to ensure our health and safety each day. We can't wait for our next adventure, hopefully minus Covid. Thank you Killarney Guided Tours.

Gerard was a wonderful guide. He is very knowledgeable about the sites, roads and history. He was professional- on time, with the car spotless. We never had to stop for gas or delay in any way. He was always ready to go when we were. Our trip was customized efficiently for a golf detour. Gerard was ready with a smile and with a hand for the luggage. We lucked out getting Gerard for our trip. Definitely would recommend him!

This was one of the most exciting and fun field trip that I’ve been on. I’ve traveled all over the world but this experience was very unique. The quality of the experience was excellent and well worth find whatever the cost. Gerard has a knowledge because he grew up in the area and his former occupation as a policeman gave insights in the sites that could not be duplicated by any other tour service.
The color and in-depth descriptions of archaeology combined with history was fascinating.
Taking the time to be patient and see things through the eyes of historians was very valuable.
I would recommend anyone considering seeing Ireland don’t try to rent a car, navigate the roads, and try to see the sites at the same time. Spend a little more money and have a professional Drive and Navigate the gorgeous landscape.

We hired Gerard on the advice of the BallyGarry house staff; it was an excellent call. Gerard was always punctual, a great deal of fun, and a great source of information about the local culture, area and people. Great storyteller and a good student of Irish History. He as very flexible, as well, as our itinerary underwent several changes. I highly recommend using him for any trips in the area. I plan on using him for a golf trip in the near future. Definitely worth every penny. thx again
