About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Maggie D0 contributionsWarm, knowledgeable guideLucy is a wonderful lady who gave us an engaging tour of Tara Hill, the village of Kells, Bective Abby, Trim Castle and the countryside of the Boyne Valley. We enjoyed Lucy's warmth and witty stories on a wet and windy day.Written September 30, 2017
- Ace6of6Clubs0 contributionsGood Tour, but DisorganizedThe tour itself was very good, and Lucy certainly knows a lot about Irish history. She hasn't memorized a script like a number of tour guides do - she really knows her stuff. We enjoyed everything she had to say very much. The churchyard was a beautiful, peaceful place to explore. The downside was a lack of organization, though it all worked out in the end. Lucy responded to my initial e-mail, but I couldn't get hold of her to confirm that she was available for the day we were coming. I found a number of other e-mail addresses, webpages, and physical addresses for her. After multiple e-mails to different addresses, she finally confirmed, saying that she had moved, and was now at No. 1 Church Street, which is just outside the churchyard's entrance. Hopefully she gets her multiple webpages sorted out to just one with the current information, as her tour is very good. The other negative was that we didn't get to go inside the church, the round tower, or Colmcille's House, though Lucy had told me we would be going in the house, possibly the church, and neglected to answer regarding the round tower. At the end of the tour, possibly to make up for this, she did give me a monograph on the stone crosses in Kells, which was nice of her.Written November 10, 2016
- Wilma L0 contributionsGreat and informative Day Out!!!This was a trip arranged by our sons for us and we had a great time. Lucy was a great guide and definitely knows her history of Ireland. Patrick also was very good and took us round the further away places. It is a busy tour, but still with time to relax and enjoy the area and the people. Would highly recommend it, wear good walking shoes and make sure you have rainwear.Written May 4, 2016

They are knowledgeable, informative and friendly guides, who can also arrange lunch. Highlight of the day was climbing Loughcrew and witnessing the inside of the 5000 year-old passage grave. - Kathleen M0 contributionsLoughcrew and KellsNot to be missed, a visit to the Loughcrew Cairn with the Hags Chair was an incredible experience. Lucy brought the history and lore of the land to life. Personalized service, thorough knowledge, and a chance to get to know the people of Kells. Lucy escorted us to a Halloween party in town where the bonfire was spectacular, the storyteller mesmerizing and the folk singer delighted us with song.
