Fantastic Free Tour of Dublin with Leti
We just finished a fantastic 2.5 hours tour of Dublin with Leti — an amazing tour guide. The tour was both entertaining and interesting spanning 9000 years of history including pivotal events, people and sites. Leti’s storytelling performance was so fun and engaging throughout. You will not want to miss this one.

    Good craic
Great fun and interesting tour with John. Even if the Dublin dew was... a little heavier than ideal. Dublin's past has a lot to cover, and this was a grand introduction.

I did the 2 hour general Dublin tour. Kevin was great! Very engaging and knew a lot about Dublin. He even showed us about the licenses plates and how those have changed. I would highly recommend this tour!! Thank you.

LETI is a terrific tour guide!
I went on the regular Dublin walking tour and our tour guide was LETI. She is an amazing story teller, and with her background in the theater, made the history and the sites come to life. There were over 30 of us from many different countries and she engaged with all of us and made us feel welcomed.

    Great experience
Have gone on SANDEMANs tours throughout Europe probably a dozen times or so and each one is as superb as the next! Siomha was my tour guide in Dublin and she did an amazing job. She’s kind, sweet, and funny, and has so much knowledge about the past and present of Ireland. I would recommend a tour with Siomha for everyone any day of the week! You will have a joy of a time, learn a lot, and see some of the great sites of Dublin.

    Fantastic family tour with Leti
We did the Free Walking Tour and had Leti as our guide. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining! We challenged our 9 and 13 year old to a competition of who could tell us the most facts after the tour and they remembered so much! - thanks to Leti's engaging tour guide skills! We would definitely recommend!

    Outstanding free walking tour
We did our walking tour with Carl who was incredibly engaging. We learned so much about Ireland's and Dublin's history, language, and Culture in the space of three hours, through storytelling and his clever pneumonics. We're really pleased we got Carl as he is extremely knowledgeable and gave out excellent recommendations and was able to answer many of our questions. Top tier tour guide!

Went to Dublin with my couple for three days and getting a tour on the first day was definately the tight thing to do. Kevin was very helpful, informative and fun. We had a great time. 10/10 would recommend.

While doing Dublin tour, we were marketed to buy other tours/tickets for better prices. We fell for that, bought whisky museum tickets (after we learned we saved only €1!), which we could not redeem as the museum was full during the WE (no warning was given ab that, they just wanted to sell tickets).we bought howth tour as we were told we would see things we wouldn't discover ourselves- total bu***. If you go to howth by yourself, you save money, time and energy. We were not even told that we need hiking boots (or smth that can be fully covered in mud). We wasted 1.5 hrs in the beginning for gathering, toilet&shop stops, after we spent 1/2 of the tour in a usual forest walking in mud and only 1/4 walking on cliffs when it was already dark, cold and everybody was tired. A total flop as for organisation and marketing...

Hi Julia R, Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for joining the tour in Dublin. We love to hear back from engaged travellers such as yourself, as your feedback helps us to continue making improvements and ensure that tours and experiences promoted by SANDEMANs NEW Europe meet the high standards that travellers expect of us. We are sorry to hear that your expectations were not met on this occasion. Whilst the tour’s route, inclusions and content are listed on our website, the independent guides we work with may alter the tour in order to suit their own style and each group’s dynamic. We feel this adds a personal touch that makes tours promoted by SANDEMANs fresh and unforgettable, but it may also mean that the tour’s stories and sites are not in line with every guests’ preferences which, unfortunately, can be a difficult situation to avoid. While on the whole, the vast majority of guests are extremely satisfied, we do state on our promotional material that all the tours do differentiate from one another due to the individual nature of the guides we work with. However, for this activity in particular, we also state the following: - The tour covers approximately 6 miles of walking over a 3-5 hour period, occasionally off path and ascending/descending steep gradients. Please ensure that you are wearing suitable footwear (ie. no heels or flip flops) and that you have a suitable level of fitness for this type of activity. - Unfortunately this tour is not recommended for pushchairs, for those in wheelchairs or for those less able to walk unassisted. -The tour ends in Howth Village around 3pm, very close to the train station. Guests have open return train tickets and can return to Dublin city center with the guide or stay in Howth at their leisure. We are sorry for the misunderstanding and thank you once again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We hope this experience will not prevent you from joining us again in the future. All the best, The SANDEMANs Team

Walk to train was long! train ride was nice. hike was not just a walk it was, for me, an ordeal! I quit the hike about half way thru and got a cab back to train station, had lunch, after recovering. Then walked around fishing village restraunts and saw a nice lite house. Trip, or should I say ordeal guide, was nice but had no idea of distance or difficulty of hike. Overall if you are not in exultant shape and can’t hike about 7 miles, much of it up hill and in the rain, don't go.

First off I need to say Jason our Tour Guide was excellent. The tour was great however the weather the day we went was rainy and foggy so we missed out on seeing a lot. Sandeman's needs to improve how they advertise and sell the tour. First off the pickup location is stupid. Yo meet at City Hall and walk across the city and it is not a short walk. all this to catch a train. They could have you meet at Connely Rail Station. Next, the tour write up said to plan on 6 miles of walking. We walked12.5. It would have been nice to know this in advance.

Such an amazing time on this tour! Our guide Adam was extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and also very funny which made the 2.5 hours feel like less. He covered lots of topics, and also gave us some great local recommendations for what to do/where to eat in the city. Thanks for an awesome experience Adam, you're truly great at your (very real and legitimate) job!

We happened to do this tour on a day of uncharacteristically heavy rain and cold (it was Oct after all). There were also participants in a race racing up the same narrow path that we were ascending for the first 1/4 of the journey (a rare event our guide had never seen before). Despite this, the tour was more than worth it! The visibility was great and the views were incredible. Our guide, Patrick, was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable with great stories. The first part of the trek is steep and would be difficult for someone with any sort of difficulty walking but it was also very short (10 min tops). Would recommend highly.

I only gave this 4/5 because we were so wet at the end because of the weather. No helping it, it was great overall.

Howth is a great daytrip from Dublin! Our guide Carl was great! He managed to remember the names of the people in the group although it was a big one (25 people). He told us stories about the lepricons, a wonderful Irish story about Tír na nÓg and one about a female pirate. Carl is a great storyteller and the tales stay with you long after you go home (believe me, I checked all of them so that I can retell the stories to my friends and family).

Howth is a beautiful village, located very close to Dublin and easy to access by train with departures every 30 minutes or so. Offers magnificent views and a great long walk!

The trip to Howth was nice as it is a beautiful place. We rode the train from Dublin to Howth and that was an easy short ride. There was though a one mile walk from the meeting spot to the train station which seemed unnecessary as there was so much walking on the trip. The time in Howth was spent walking through and looking at beautiful scenery. There is a huge amount of fast, up hill walking so be prepared. It wouldn't be a good trip for small children or for anyone that isn't in good shape. I am 59 and walk 3 miles every day and I was almost always far behind from the main group, missing quite a bit of commentary. Our guide's name was I believe John, a big, tall man that walked very quickly. My main suggestion would be to somehow add a bit of time - maybe shorten the walk to the train station and skip the restaurant time. Unless you are in really great shape don't plan on taking many pictures as you will be moving so quickly there isn't a lot of time to look at things or really take pictures.

We loved our hiking tour with our guide, Jason. He showed us a lot of very interesting spots, breath taking views and even read a couple famous poems. We ended up with over 24,000 steps on this tour. Would have rather met at the train station rather than walking to the meeting point and backtracking to the train station. Jason did a great job with our diverse group. Lot of fun!

Having already done numerous Sandemans tours through Europe this summer, we had confidence we wouldn't be let down on our trip to Dublin.

As usual, we started with a free walking tour with our guide, Stephen, and were welcomed by a charming, entertaining and informative guide on a great tour, combinging enough information to give you a great overview but not being too long or boring (sometimes we've found walking tours can lose their way if the guide doesn't keep the customers entertained) so i'd definitely say he was up their with the best we've experienced!)

So much so that we booked this Howth tour on Wednesday and again, had a great day trip i'd highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the city life of Dublin whilst seeing some great landscapes (definitely preferred doing this over a longwinded 13hr trip to the Cliffs of Moher where you're stuck in a bus for 7-8hrs!).

Thanks for making the trip so memorable and best of luck with your endeavours mate! From Ben & Nofar (if you're ever in the holy land do get in touch!).
