About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- U4576SVkeving0 contributionsNice, but could be better. On first impressions a clean well looked after campsite. We stayed for one night and despite signs telling people to be quiet after 23:00, there was a party going on until 02:00 in the morning opposite our pitch. Also, the electric hook up is a waste of time, only rated at 6 amp. However, we have been to numerous campsites in Ireland with a 6 amp supply with no problems running our camper fridge and low wattage kettle. Having said that, there was a fully equipped campers kitchen at the top of the site for all to use. We were not the only ones unhappy with the stay that night as we spoke to other campers before leaving and they were unhappy with the situation alsoWritten August 2, 2024
- _martinafins0 contributionsExcellent stayWe stayed here for 2 nights last week. It is a really well kept site. So clean and has everything you would need. Campers kitchen, lovely cafe, and spotlessly clean showers and toilet block. A walk up to the Cairns with fantastic views of up to 18 counties is a few minutes walk away The owners are really friendly and welcoming. We will certainly return.Written July 31, 2024
- ri0naw0 contributionsWe will be back again 😀We recently spent approx 2weeks in our caravan here 2 adults and 3 kids aged 6 and under. We enjoyed it the kids had a ball and didn't wanted to leave it was great having the playground in view and we walked up to carins T most evenings. It was really clean all round and the camp kitchen is fully equipped for cooking we used it sometimes and cooked on camp otherwise. The showers and toilets were spotless. There is also plenty to do with in driving distance. Sarah and Niall were great and helped out with any queries. They were always around onsite or nearby. The Cafe staff were also great. We will make our way back there someday. It was nice and peaceful 😀Written August 15, 2023
- TheBennys0 contributionsPeaceful stayStayed recently with our two children. We really enjoyed staying in the yurts. The area is so peaceful. The facilities were good. We didn't use the campers kitchen but other campers did. The kitchen was kept clean and saw staff in cleaning it aswell. Fridges in the kitchen for glampers to use aswell as a freezer for ice blocks. Extra power points available in the kitchen for charging which was really convenient. The courtyard area is really nice aswell as the coffee shop. Staff and owners were all lovely. We are looking forward to staying again.Written August 2, 2023
- siobhanrosslare0 contributionsUgly campsiteWe stayed in our caravan fot.three nights. Very disappointed. The photographs show nice grassy areas but this down to clever photography .It felt that we were parked in a pub car park..If you had nice weather you would have to sit looking out on a sea of gravel. The most ugly campsite I have ever stayed in The showers were nice and hot and the showers and toilets were very clean .However, the pitches for your caravan were uneven very close together . The electric supply.was only.6amp.. I want electricity and sites have always provided 12.amps..I have just come back from camping in the Vale of Aherlow the campsite was lush and beautifully landscaped . I think this campsite should have a look on line at other campsites and put in some lands caping for aesthetic reasons and privacyWritten July 6, 2023

- Hollie S0 contributionsLuxury CampingHighly recommend this camp site. Clean and lovely facilities. You can camp, caravan or stay in the luxurious yurts. Owners Sarah and Niall are charming. We stayed the night before and after Tayto park. Local town old castle is lovely and has all the amenities you need.Written August 29, 2022
- uaimh300 contributionsLoughcrew Camping - a gem in Irelands Ancient EastOur second visit to Loughcrew camping this season and it never disappoints. The site has everything for a weekend of camping. Shower/bathroom facilities are excellent and are spotless. The coffee shop provides a great selection of coffees and some very tasty homemade cheesecakes. The owners are very friendly. A great way to spend a bank holiday weekend .Written August 2, 2022
- Ken C0 contributionsHappy GlampersWe stayed here in a Yurt for 2 nights. Very happy with everything. The staff were friendly and helpful. The yurts were lovely and cosy, beds and duvets were perfect. Everything was provided for a campfire. The nearby toilets and showers were clean and adequate although there was an issue with low water supply to the shower. That said we were in a heat wave. The campers kitchen was very well equipped and clean. Very happy with our stay here.Written July 17, 2022
- 825sdr0 contributions😕Popped in for tea and cake after trekking the cairns. Lemon cake was awful and so dried out and the tea was terrible..cheap teabags with no taste all for 9 euro! Wont be in againWritten March 19, 2022
- jennp6030 contributionsLoughcrew glamping......Fantastic tripWe did a weekend glamping in the yurts with a visit to Tayto Park for the kids. It was absolutely brilliant craic, the yurts are magnificent and we had the best night's sleep ever in the big double bed....would love to know what mattress they use! Sitting around the campfire every night, telling stories and making s'mores, then into the yurts with stoves lit to keep us warm...it was just heaven. The day at Tayto Park was a blast, and we walked up to the megalithic tombs on Sunday morning which were unspoiled and had a real sense of history. Highly recommended.Written September 13, 2021
- 929fionaw0 contributionsGreat weekend glamping with familyJust back from a 2 night stay in Loughcrew’s yurts with 3 adults and 6 children aged 10 - 18. We went to tayto park on Saturday which was only 40 mins away. Everyone had a fantastic time sitting around the fire pit at night roasting marshmallows while the stove kept the yurts cosy inside. The main bed was like sleeping in a marshmallow. Nearby town of Oldcastle had plenty of lovely pubs and takeaways. Place was spotless and had a very relaxed atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back to see more of the local beauty spots as we only had time to take a walk up to local passage tombs which were stunning.Written September 5, 2021
- saraBelfast0 contributionsQuiet, rural, basic - we loved it!Situated down a very narrow lane - with grass growing down the middle. This is a small site for campervans / caravans - very peaceful. Good campers kitchen area. Toilets basic but clean. Lovely shower. This will not suit everyone but if you want peace and quiet, and be able to see the stars at night due to no light pollution then this is for you.Written September 2, 2021
- AidanRyan2470 contributionsLoughcrew caravan parkJust back from 2 nights in Caravan. The approach road is not fit for caravans or motorhomes, it is the width of a car.The caravanpark is no more than a rough car park .There is one shower and one toilet for men. And a wash hand basin.which was overflowing when I visited, There is one shower and two toilets and a wash hand basin in the ladies ,the hand drier wasn't working and the toilet cubicle door catch didn't work no way to lock door while using the toilet. Restaurant closes at 5oc. No sign on the recommend road to the site, very low power wattage trips very easy. The WiFi doesn't work in the caravan park, only in the courtyard which was full of day trippers.Would have stayed only 1 night but booked for 2 so stayed 2. Won't be back. Inclosed some photos of gents toilet and caravan park/carpark.Written August 24, 2021
