Great over view of city with history included. 6 stops. We have been on food tours other areas and found the food samples small.. why not a whole scone rather than a half???

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you found the tastings small, I am often told by my guests that they are getting full after a few stops and I prefer to focus on quality rather than quantity. I have been on food tours myself in other countries where I found that quantity over quality was prioritised and chose a different approach with my own tour. I appreciate your feedback and hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip! Kind regards, Ketty

Amazing food tour
Ketty was so great, filled with so much food knowledge she only made the food adventure better. Was only a small group of 4 as we made our way around 6 stops with a full history lesson at each stop, you can really tell that food is Kettys passion as she lives and breathes it. Everywhere we went was amazing and will be sure to go back and revisit all these places again as well as well as checking out all the recommendations.

Wonderful Food Tour! Highly Recommend!
Oct 2019
We had a wonderful time on this tour with Ketty. I would highly recommend doing this tour and would suggest doing it on the first or second day of your trip because you're going to want to go back to the place that Ketty takes you. Ketty herself was fabulous, so knowledgeable not only about food but Dublin itself and Dublin's fascinating food history. All of the food was fantastic - we had the best scones in the world. It was great!! Please take this tour. You will love it.

Amazing food and fascinating history
Oct 2019
Had the best food tour I've ever had! Highly recommend if you love food and are interested in learning more about Ireland and its food history, as well as its current food scene. We had the most fun group with another couple from the US and loved the stops on the tour. You get to walk around and see different areas of City Centre and taste the best of local producers from coffee to whiskey to oysters. Yum!!!!!

Great way to understand the Dublin Food Scene
Oct 2019
Date of tour: 10/13/2019. Ketty’s Tour is outstanding; so glad we found her. She is knowledgeable about the Dublin food scene and history of the food. She takes you to places you most likely wouldn’t find on your own. In addition, she gives you written suggestions for your use during your stay in Dublin.
The tour was worth the cost and we would definitely do it again.
Thank you Ketty!,

Informative and fun
Sep 2019
We enjoyed Ketty's enthusiastic and informative style, leading to an infectious happy vibe in the group. Her local knowledge took us to less obvious quality places often with interesting food histories. Really enjoyable. Only slight issue was that my wife is a non-drinker and a number of the stops were alcohol-based (Irish coffee, whiskey etc). Though of course a given in Ireland we did wonder if slightly more food and less alcohol might be better.

Off The Grid Kinda Tour!
Sep 2019
Date of tour - 09/18/2019

My wife and I love food tours and have discovered that it is a unique way to get information about an area. We stayed over an extra day in Dublin after a long tour across Ireland and we decided to give Delicious Dublin Food Tours a try.

We met up with our guide, Ketty Quigley, at 10:45 AM at the Spire in Dublin. It was a perfect place to meet since it was visible from almost anywhere in the city. After a quick introduction and briefing, we headed to our first location.

We arrived at a pub called the Wigwam and went inside but instead of pub food we were lead up to a coffee bar that was inside the pub. Vice Coffee Inc. operates inside the WIgwam which is much different than places in the US. Vice has been crafting some of Dublin's finest coffees since Jan 2013 and is a multi roaster coffee bar. We were seated at the bar and given a brief lesson in how they prepare traditional Irish Coffee and even some history of where the drink was developed. I have to be honest and say that they prepared the BEST Irish coffee that I have ever tasted. It was extremely tasty and so good that we returned later that evening and was served their iced Irish Coffee and it was just as good as the hot version. By far, this was my favorite stop on this tour and I would recommend that everyone come and enjoy the BEST Irish Coffee in Dublin. It was hard to leave Vice but we gathered the group and headed out to our next location.

Along the way, Ketty would stop and gave us some history of Dublin. It was all very interesting and the weather was perfect for a stroll in Dublin. We then headed over to the Camerino Bakery where we were served an extremely delicious Irish scone. It was covered in tasty Irish butter and topped with raspberry jam. If they had been at the same place as the coffee it would have been perfect! They serve the highest quality cakes, cookies and squares and has been awarded Best in Ireland by McKenna’s Guides/Bridgestone Award in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012. Very impressive! I would recommend it as a stop if you are in the area.

We then were directed over to Sheridans Cheesemongers where we were given a true treat. This place is owned and operated by brothers, Kevin Sheridan and Seamus Sheridan and founded in 1995. The brothers started selling Irish farmhouse cheeses at the Galway market and later opened a shop in Galway with Irish farmhouse cheeses filling the shelves. The Dublin store and the South Anne Street shop in the city center were soon opened as well now they have shops and markets in numerous cities across Ireland. They soon had Irish cheeses along with other European cousins as well as a huge range of other artisan foods including olive oils, cured meats, condiments and pasta sourced during travels in Europe. This place was filled with cheesed and was chilled to make sure freshness was preserved. You could actually use a coat in this place. The staff were all friendly and they had a place for us in the back room where some cheese was cut and placed on a board for us to try. Ketty provided some information on cheese production in Ireland as we enjoyed our tasty treat. This place would be great to stop by and order cheese for family or guests...great place!

Our next stop was a quick walk street to Murphy's Ice Cream shop. Murphy's has been making it naturally, locally and truthfully in Dingle since 2000. They pride themselves in the fact that they don’t use colorings, flavorings, or powdered milk. They prefer fresh from the farm milk, lots of local cream, free range eggs, and organic sugar. They toast, simmer, bake, and extract real ingredients. They temper chocolate and infuse alcohol and even make their own Sea Salt from Dingle sea water. We had the 'Arán Donn' or Irish Brown Bread ice cream as our sample. Now you may think that would be a bit strange but I am here to tell ya that this ice cream was outstanding. The creaminess and textures from the bread were a perfect match. We came back later and I had the Dingle Gin ice cream which is infused with real Dingle Gin and it was, by far, the best ice cream I have ever tasted. Stop by and see for yourself!

After being energized with that sweet treat, we headed down the street to The Boxty House Restaurant. So you may want to know what a 'boxty' is..it is a traditional Irish potato pancake. The dish is mostly associated with the north midlands, north Connacht and southern Ulster. Now that that has been cleared up we can talk about the restaurant. Boxty has been a part of the Dublin community for over 25 years and is a place where customers can experience a genuine taste of modern Ireland. It is a place with strong connections with the land, culture and history, as well as a place where people come to embrace the origins of the Boxty Pancake and home grown produce. This restaurant provided the tour with three servings of stews (Beef, Lamb & Pork) that makes you want to return and try more. These were very well prepared dishes and it was served with a cold beer of your choice. Enough said....come try this place....Awesome!

The last stop was at the Celtic Whiskey Shop & Wines on the Green This is Ireland's premier whiskey shop based in the heart of Dublin city center opened in June 2003. It is the place where whiskey lovers shop both in Ireland and abroad. Over the past 14 years, they have built strong ties with all the producers of Irish whiskey and regularly offer launches, tastings and distillery trips. The shop was well prepared for our visit. We were taken to the side room where a gentleman had set up a whiskey tasting just for the tour group. We tried 'Writer's Tears, Knappogue Castle and Coole Swan. I enjoyed the Castle and my wife preferred the Coole Swan which was like an Irish Cream. This place went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and gave us loads of info on the sprits sold there. Well done and we recommend highly!

Ketty also so wonderfully generous in giving us tips for places to eat, shops to explore, and activities for our us to try. We actually ended up returning to two of the places that evening. Thanks to her for the tips, she truly had us feeling like true Dublin insiders.

This tour is something good for visitors and even people who have lived in the area for years and you just want to check out a few of the newer places in Dublin. Try this...you will not regret you decision!
