    Fantastic tour
I pass the rock museum almost every day and have always wanted to do a tour. Brian was really engaging, upbeat, and knowledgeable and made the tour fun as well as informative. I was amazed at the amount of famous artistes, Irish and international, who have recorded, rehearsed, and performed here. Would recommend this tour to music lovers of all ages.

    Fabulous tour with Emily
I did this tour on Dec 27th. It was amazing. Our tour guide was Emily and she was amazing too. She was very knowledgeable in regard to the music and the artists, but most of all it was her personality. She interacted with the people on the tour in a way which made them and their contributions appreciated. She went out of her way to engage with the only child on the tour and had her playing the drums which earned her a clap from all present. Good value and a very enjoyable tour

    Unique experience
The tour was an amazing experience. To, actually, taste the feel of some of the r'n'r greats first-hand by walking around the original studio and taking a peak at some of the equipment they used back in the day was unique. Our tour guide Marisa was everything you could ask from a guide- profesional, fun and informative, 10 out of 10. Thank you for this great experience

    Don’t miss!
Amazing tour! Amazing tour guide: Alan! We did not want the tour to end and stories to stop being told. Alan was mixing personal stories, anecdotes and facts about the bands and musicians in a spellbinding way. When it was over you were left feeling all emotions: happy, inspired, melancholy and hungry for even more. Recommending this tour to anyone, whether you’re already a music fan or not (you’ll become one) //Greetings from Malmö!

Great museum for Rock and Roll fans
This is a must visit for Rock N Roll lovers. Our tour guide, Scott, was excellent and provided good history of some of Ireland's best bands. I learned a lot about U2, Thin Lizzy, Enya, The Cranberries, Rory Gallagher and others. One thing I wish they would do is get a jukebox that has a list of all the great songs from Irish artists. They have this at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. This would be a nice touch and would be appreciated by people who visit.

    We are all Irish
I went on 24th of August with my family and all of us was amazed by the museum. Alan took us around the history of Irish Rock & Roll and we clearly felt his passion and his incredible knowledge for music. In our group there was also a Spanish guitarist, so we had also a small private concert which was really funny. It's a beautiful experience also for younger people.

As a lifelong fan of Irish acts such as U2, Hozier, Two Door Cinema Club and more, I knew I wanted to do something during our time in Dublin to immerse myself in the Irish music scene. My group came across this place, and we didn't know what to expect upon entry but are so happy we took a chance. We showed up two minutes before the next tour was set to depart and the kind attendant at the front desk was happy to get us on that tour. Shortly thereafter, we were greeted by Alan, our ecstatic tour guide, rocking a thin lizzy football kit, eager to meet us and educate us on all things irish music. The exhibits were awesome, and it was even cooler to be walking through a functioning practice space and performance venue. Alan had a fun fact or story for each item in the exhibit, and specifically his stories of Sinead O'Connor were some of the most amazing. I'd highly recommend this experience to casual and die hard music fans alike, and I hope they add in some more artists like Two Door Cinema Club and Niall Horan into their collection someday.

Visited Dublin from the Midlands in the UK, booked on a 10.30 tour on the 14th September. We we greeted by Alan, a bubbly friendly Irish tour guide. I think he says he does acting part time, but he had a love and a passion for his job and rock 'n' roll music and his love for his home city of Dublin.
Alan kept our tour engaged to the point where my partner joked and said ''I don't like him, he's funnier than me!''
The information was easy and conversational with humour and Irish charm, this meant we learnt a lot from our tour.
The Irish museum, we would return again just to see Alan! He was amazing and really made the tour!
The music videos and playlist as party of the tour was quite mixed and eclectic variety of Irish born music, including boybands, folk, rock 'n' roll, pop, soul, this was very well made and also given a spotify gift card to enjoy and take the music experience home.
The displays and recording studio were well laid out and had an authentic homely feel with a lot of history explained behind why each artefact came to be restored there.
I highly recommend the combo deal with the National Wax Museum when purchasing your ticket, also a very good attraction, but I saved £10 off per person.
Would return again, thankyou Alan and the team!

If you’re into rock and roll music of any era I would highly recommend a trip to this museum if you have a couple hours in Dublin. I forget how many people and bands I knew until i went on the tour. It covers a lot and is still collecting. It’s also a working studio and venue it was great to hear music. Our tour guide Alan was amazing try to get him as he has so much knowledge and insight into the Irish music scene. I’m going to bring my husband back next time.

We booked our tour in advance of our trip - bought the combo ticket with the waxworks museum in the price. It wasn't too clear that the waxworks were in a separate building, and not of just rock and roll figures, but that's my fault for not checking first!

Our guide Bryan was very funny and shared a lot of in-depth stories about the studios, his own journey, as well as his connections with U2 and other Irish artists. There is a working studio room where U2 rehearsed back in the day, with some memorabilia on the walls, very interesting. There is a separate room showing a video history of Irish musicians and their importance on the music scene. Lots of archive footage to enjoy.

The second part of the tour is a recording studio where many important acts have made their albums, with iconic memorabilia to check out (mainly Thin Lizzy!).

Some of it is not too accessible as there are quite a few stairs in the historic building (they may have an elevator, so could be corrected!). The studios are quite small, maybe just a few rooms to check out on the tour, but everything is steeped in history and the tour guide certainly brought everything to life!

This was a tour to remember. Our tour guide was very friendly, humoristic and knew how to give us a lot of nice information. The price is definitely worth it as we really got a full tour of the studios and rehearsal rooms. I personally even got to jam on the guitar with someone who happened to be practicing there. Something that was very special for me to do. In short, just a fantastic tour of a rock n roll museum with a very nice guide!

Okay, I had no idea what to expect from this tour because I was not that familiar with Irish music beyond the classics, but oh boy, did that change at the end of the tour...

The museum itself is really cool because it's more than that: it's a recording studio, a rehearsal studio, a music venue, and a museum itself with all sorts of cool memorabilia. But you can probably find something similar in other cities around the world, but what you won't find is the person who was the highlight of the tour, our guide, Alan.

Alan was warm, funny, interactive enough to engage without putting anyone on the spot, and extremely knowledgeable of Irish music (and Irish heritage around the world... you won't believe how many Irish people are out there, and you wouldn't even know...) You can tell that he cares deeply about his work and the space that he is tasked to present, and you really feel like you got what you paid for with him. I don't think I can do justice to his knowledge or to his comments on Irish life and culture in general. Just a genuine, warm guide who will leave you better than you were when you walked in.

The tour involves a walk around the museum, a film, and stops at key rooms (the U2 and the Phil Lynnot rooms are amazing). It goes by faster than expected. Highly recommend it.

My husband and I stopped in Dublin on our honeymoon. Of course, being a music lover, I convinced my husband if we could go to the Irish Rock N'Roll Experience while we were in Dublin.

We arrived at about Noon that day. We were told by someone at the front desk we would have to wait until the 1:45 tour as the 12:15 tour was booked; however, Alan told us he would make room for us on the 12:15 tour.

Alan was very attentive to his audience and clearly has a lot of knowledge about Irish musicians. I was especially intrigued to see the recording studios and stages that acts such as U2, Sinead O'Connor, and The Cranberries have performed on. Being a 90's Kid, being in the very places that 90's artists recorded and performed was fascinating! Alan also told us about his encounter with Sinead O'Connor in the past, and gave the people on tour an excellent picture of what kind of person she was.

If I had to change one thing on the tour, I would say I wish that there was a better selection of items in the Gift Shop. However, I highly recommend this place to any music fans who happen to be in Dublin!

As music fans in general, this was always going to be a tour my daughter and I did. We love rock music and this tour taught us a thing or two about some very famous bands.

Our tour guide was a young French student called Aymeric and it was only his second tour in English, for which he apologised in advance. He had no need! I get that the guides will have been given a good grounding on the content they had to deliver but Aymeric has only been doing this for 2 months and impressed us with his knowledge and love of his subject. His enthusiasm was infectious and he had a lovely sense of humour.

The tour itself was very informative and we were blown away by the amount of famous names who had recorded and played live here. It reminded me of a venue in Glasgow called The Barrowlands - a brilliant place to see love music and the stars of the future. I can imagine a gif in this place. would have the same wonderful atmosphere and excellent sound. It is quite incredible that such a small country has produced the phenomenal amount of musical talent that it has - and what a group of people!

We were highly entertained in the 80 minutes we were there, and would highly recommend it if you are a music fan.

Highly recommended, especially for music lovers! It's a guided tour which lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Your guide will share many interesting facts and anecdotes about famous local musicians, the music scene, the building, and Irish history and culture all with a great sense of humor. Lots of smiles and laughter on the tour as well as fun audience participation moments. The experience will be extra special for those who are big fans of Thin Lizzy and/or U2, but even casual fans of music who are unfamiliar with Irish artists will have a great time.

There are options for tours in both English and French.

Even if you are only in Dublin for one day, I highly recommend finding time to fit this into your schedule. This was one of my favorite museum experiences in all of Europe!
