1st night in Dublin and we went on the bar crawl, what a great experience it was.
You got a wrist band that got you some free shots and drink specials at cheaper prices.
There was over 100 people, we got split into 3 groups it was a nice way to meet new people.
The pubs and bars you go to have live music but my favourite one was the old storehouse as it had live music and some drunken Irish dancing. But all the pubs had fantastic live music.
You finish up in a club where you get free entry.

I would recommend the bar crawl just for the discount drinks as it is expensive and you get good tour guides as well.

It was very funny to discover some different pubs, the guide was funny as well and very friendly.
Just a bad point, at the meeting to go on the last pub (club) we didn’t find the guide and the group so we went to the club by our own, but even with the bracelet the security guys didn’t let us enter. We were like 20 persons waiting, we paid to cut the file and free shot and security guys said they were already inside so it’s was too late and they were agressive

Thanks for joining us and for the review. Every time we visit a venue, you are clearly told what time to meet outside to depart to the next venue as a group. You did not come out on time, we went back inside and searched for you twice. We can't keep the rest of the group waiting indefinitely so had to depart. One guide then even went back again to the last bar to search once more, but I guess you ahd already realised you missed the time and made your own way to the club. Yes, you can only skip the line and get free entry to the club when you come with the pub crawl, so it's normal that you had to join the queue with 20 others of the public when you arrived there alone. It's unfortunate you didn't come out on time with the rest of the pub crawl group, and we did all we resonably could, and more, to try to find you and catch you up. I'm glad you enjoyed the experience overall though, and hope you'll join us again when next in Dublin.

Ciaran led us on a bar crawl and it was phenomenal. his enthusiasm and decorum was second to none to any tour guide I’ve ever been on. It’s a really good idea for tourists and locals to meet new people and have a good time. His punctuality on moving us from bar to bar was key to the experience. He made sure to look out for every single person at all times Everyone’s really friendly and it’s an easy cheap way to get lots of alcohol in, really good idea for anyone visiting Dublin. We had multiple free and discounted drinks, and visited 3 bars and 2 clubs in one evening. Top craic from ciaran, he’s a legend.

It is a good idea to check what else is going on in Dublin before booking pub crawl. We booked on a Saturday evening and there were Rugby fans in town making the bars extremely crowded. I had envisioned a pub crawl with a group of people and guide where we would sit, drink, chat, and even learn a bit about Dublin pub culture. We were qued with about 100 other people and then divided up into smaller groups. I had no idea who was part of my group since first bar was packed. The thought of going from packed bar to packed bar was not what I wanted so that is where my experience ended. I write this review only as a precaution if you are not into large crowds and standing room only. Know ahead of time how crowded Dublin is. The price was cheap enough we did not fret about leaving the crawl. If you decide not to do a crawl, there are over 700 pubs in Ireland and you will meet people if you like to talk. We met a very nice local Irishman in McDaid's pub and really enjoyed just talking to him. People are friendly so be advised you can meet fascinating people with or without a pub crawl.

Hi LouLou, thanks for the feedback. Yes, it sounds like the pub crawl wasn't really what you were after. It's a pity you bailed on the experience at the first pub though; while your estimate of 100 people is a bit of an exaggeration, as you mentioned, we do split into smaller groups once we start the crawl so there would have actually been about 20-25 in your particular group had you stayed. I'm not sure why you expected a pub crawl "where we would sit, drink, chat, and even learn a bit about Dublin pub culture".....in fairness, there's nothing in the description you booked that suggests this - this is a party, nightlife experience....free welcome Guinness, free shots, exclusive drink specials, live music, and skip the line free entry to late bar, and free VIP nightclub entrance, as per the description. Yes, pubs were busy that particular weekend due to the rugby game in town, but Dublin's nightlife is a bustling one most weekends. Again, it's a pity you skipped out before we even really got going, I think had you stayed you'd have easily interacted with your lovely fellow Crawlers and locals and had a really great night out with us, but I'm glad you did find a quiet and subdued pub to sit and have a chat in, LouLou, as it sounds like that's what you wanted....but that's not us, I'm afraid. I'm happy you had a good night though and enjoyed meeting people in your own way, LouLou. We'd love to have you with us next time you're in Dublin if you feel like letting loose and partying a bit, now that you know what we're about ✌️🍻

Dont waste your money like I did! False advertising! A total scam! They say you get a free pint and then they give you a mini guiness and the bar discounts around the area are insanely expensive! Also they dont reserve tables for you or anything so that bar is so packed you cant even hardly breath. Just do it on your own and save your money!

Manager T
We're sorry you didn't enjoy the activity, however we must refute your accusation of false advertising and being a scam - it's simply not right. Nowhere do we claim that you get a free pint. You get a free welcome glass Guinness (half pint). As for the drinks discounts, there are 21 exclusive pub crawl drinks discounts and specials across a wide range of drinks throughout the night. The average discount per drink is almost €3.30. Drinks have increased in price all across Ireland in recent months, so it may seem that the discounted prices are not so cheap, but you'd certainly be paying a hell of a lot more at the public price. No we don't reserve tables, Irish pub culture is not one of table service, its a free for all, and the pubs we work with are popular venues with plenty to see and explore across different floors and areas...Irish people don't book tables in pubs on nights out. Yes, you could do it on your own, but you certainly would not save any money: for €14 you get a free welcome Guinness, free shots in each pub, exclusive drink specials through the night, free entry to all venues including VIP skip the line entry to the most popular club in the city (saving up to €20 on entrance fees alone), and you have a hassle free night out with a ready made crew of fellow party people and lovely local guides. As you suggest to do it on your own, I think you're missing the point of the pub crawl, but It's not for everyone, and you might have preferred a more subdued kind of 'pub tour' with a small group and reserved tables to sit at all night in quiet pubs, but that's not us I'm afraid - it's a party pub crawl, we deliver a fun, proper Dublin night out and offer unbeatable value.

Excellent bar crawl with a shot in each bar and reduced drinks deals. Everyone was so lovely and the guide, Keith was fantastic....even if it was his day off! We went to some great bars and saw one of the most amazing musicians we have ever seen (Jake Suleman in The Old Storehouse....absolute highlight of our trip!) I would highly reccomend this trip to anyone...young or old, my husband is almost 50 and had a brilliant time! We will be booking up again when we return to Dublin.

Even though I had read some critical comments about the pubcrawl here, I wanted to get my own picture.

I have already participated in such events in other cities. But never before, one of these tours was as bad as in Dublin.

The tour guides seemed very annoyed and bored. They didn't really care about the group except to take them from one location to another and announce which drinks were available at reduced prices. The free shots simply tasted disgusting and the so-called "preferential prices" for certain drinks were quite ridiculous.

I am very sorry to write such a bad review, but I would have expected more entertainment from this evening. Therefore I cannot recommend it.

Hi Nadine, thank you for sharing your feedback of our Pub Crawl with us. I am sorry to read that you did not enjoy the night out. I would be grateful if you could get in touch with me on dublin@generationtours.com to see which day you were on the crawl so I can discuss the issue with the guides who worked that night. The shots might not be anyone's taste but we usually get quite good feedback on them as well as the discounts given on drinks. Again, thank you for your review and be assured that we take your comments serious and that the issues raised will be dealt with. Kind regards, Carolin

We (age 27 & 29) did the pub crawl with nearly no expectations except getting drunk, having fun, meeting new people, and enjoying the nightlife of dublin..
These expectations were fulfilled. It was a bit hard for me because I don't drink beer, but there are enough drinks which are cheaper, like vodkas mixed and shots. I could even get a starter shot instead of Guinness. Three drinks were cheaper in general, but not all of them. Let's just say: you have many possibilities to get drunk.
The guides were so nice and funny. They did a real good job and kept all together. Always good for a joke. It was a group of 54 people with different ages and we went to 4 pubs for around 45 minutes per pub. That was definitely enough because the pubs were loud and kind of overcrowded. The live music was awesome.
At the end of the crawl the lead you to a nightclub, but we had to say: 15 minute walk and being drunk AND being "old" (😉) is no good combination.

I went on both the free walking tour of Dublin with Generation tours and the pub crawl, and both were great experiences! My tour guide Dan was hilarious and knowledgeable during the walking tour. I believe he also helped out on the pub crawl, which went smoothly despite there being such a large group.
I recommend both for any students or young adults traveling in Dublin, because despite traveling solo, I met a bunch of new, interesting people.

My husband and I did the pub crawl and it was amazing. We had an amazing guide called Ian (don’t know if I wrote that right). He was very funny and made sure we wouldn’t leave anyone behind in the pub.
We met other young people from all over the world, it was amazing to have that opportunity to socialise with other travellers. We definitely would do it again!
