This was one of the two Wild Rover tours I did last week while staying in Dublin. Tara was a wonderful guide — very friendly, full of interesting history, and gave some good advice. John did a great job driving. It was so nice to sit back and relax without having to worry about driving ourselves (especially since we’re not used to driving on the left side of the road).
Some tips: sit on the left side of the bus for better views. Not that sitting on the right side is so bad...you still see a lot either way and have plenty of time at the Cliffs and you can get off at the Burrens for photo ops or just to explore for a bit (the stop at the Burrens is brief, but the highlight for me was the Cliffs).
If you have mild weather/good visibility when the bus arrives at the Cliffs, take your guide’s advice and get your views in. We were lucky enough to climb O’Brien’s Tower (extra 4 euros per person) right before they closed it. It can be incredibly windy, but you can take refuge in the visitor center if you need to. Be careful! Another reason I was glad to be on a bus: they charge for parking.
Make sure you use the restroom at every opportunity! It’s a long ride (but completely worth it).
Galway is a beautiful city and I’m so glad I finally got to see it. I skipped the optional walking tour, but I went with a few of Tara’s recommendations (King’s Head and Murphy’s Ice Cream) and I really enjoyed them.
Overall, I highly recommend this trip if you’re staying in Dublin and want a taste of the West Coast. It’s a lot of history and sightseeing in one day, and thanks to this tour I was able to get it done at a nice pace while feeling safe and being in great company.

Our tour guide Shamous was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the history of Ireland. Our driver was Sydney; he was fantastic and we always felt safe. We only had to walk 5 minutes to the pick up destination. It was very foggy and misting at the cliffs, but Shamous suggested to have a coffee in the cafe and the weather would change. We took his advice and were able to see when the clouds lifted from the cafe windows. The tower is an extra $10 Euro, so be prepared if you want to go up. The views were amazing! We then drove to Galway which was mostly just shopping and eating. Had amazing ice cream at Murphy’s! This was a very nice tour and well worth the time.

Visiting on our honeymoon and wanted a day trip to Cliffs of Moher and Galway without being rushed; this tour gave us everything we wanted and more. Our guide Martina and driver Sarah made the experience all the better - they were excited, friendly and professional, keeping things lively with traditional Irish music, history, folklore and stories that made the full day such a memorable experience. Everything was on time, well organized, safe and extremely efficient - we would recommend the experience to anyone! Sláinte!

Had a really great time on the day trip to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway with Wild Rover Tours. Richard and James were both great.
All the information Richard gave were interesting and his humour always made you laugh quite easily. The trust you put in James's driving skills is well placed as I never had the feeling of not being safe.
The weather was not the greatest as it was raining quite a bit and the wind was blowing also quite strongly. The jeans were soaked through. So for the next time I would definitely bring some of those pull over rain trousers. Ponchos weren't helpful at all. I actually saw one being blown to shreds.
The bus was nice and toasty so you didn't have to freeze during the drive through the Burren.
In Galway there was not that much to see or better yet the raining was quite off putting.
The food in the King's Head was really nice though a bit pricey.
All that's left to say is:
Thank you very much for a lovely trip. See you next time around.

cannot recommend this tour highly enough! Every stop was perfectly timed & planned out, and of course just beautiful. The Cliffs are a must see & Galway was wonderful. Loved every moment of this tour! Our tour guide Caroline made our trip beyond special. Her hospitality & warmth was incredible beyond words - I highly recommend requesting her as your guide; she was so informative & amazing in every way. Joe was our driver who was also lovely & provided us with an impeccable drive. Absolutely smooth & flawless trip provided from him. The bus itself was also in great condition, equipped with phone charger outlets, comfy seats, great heat, etc. I will ONLY recommend Wild Rover Tours to any friends or family visiting Ireland!

Caroline was an exceptional guide! Bright and early she greeted everyone as if they were a valued guest on the tour and continued her individual attention to over 30 people, by checking-in through the trip. Making certain we knew when we would have rest stops so we could plan accordingly.
She provided the best individual guidance on where to shop (I was looking for a music shop -- it didn't feel like commissioned stops I experienced on other tours).
The tour was very well organized and clearly run efficiently.
I would highly recommend.

Though the tour itself was a large group (we had a full bus), the fantastic duo of “Hugo, Snarky Irishman and Laura, Super Human Bus Driver” made the 15 hour day excursion totally worth it. This specific tour was great because they gave you at least 2 hours at the Cliffs and 2 hours in Galway. I had plenty of time to explore both of those location without having to commit to a full day excursion. This is a hyper efficient tour group and Hugo’s sense of humor (his jokes, self deprecation and intonations had me in stitches) and Laura’s “can do attitude” made the day tour a memorable one. I have to admit that Hugo managed to keep everyone on time without becoming the “bitchy bossy tour guide” by treating everyone like an adult. This makes a huge difference in my opinion. If you can, make sure you get on Hugo’s bus!

My girlfriend and I did the tour to the Cliffs of Moher and to the city of Galway on January 2nd, and we really enjoyed the tour. Interesting explanations of the country of Ireland, very good and very friendly guide, excellent driver, and a lot of fun. The guide was very helpful and came to every single person during our way back to Dublin to give some further helpful information about where to eat, to drink, and to spend a good time in Dublin and to answer some unanswered questions. We are both very happy that we did this tour with these two people, and can only recommend it to everybody who wants to spend a good time and see some other beautiful spaces of Ireland.

We had an amazing tour with Wild Rover Tours to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. Our tour guide Tera and driver Pat were exceptional. They had a clear passion for their job and their genuine hospitality and positive personalities really took the tour to the next level.
The bus was very comfortable, great quality wifi, usb ports for charging and nice and clean.
The tour is great value for money and the fact that you dont have to drive on some of the narrow roads yourself as well as the added information from the guides makes me happy we didnt rent a car and try do the trip by ourselves.
Tips:
We were fortunate to have good weather to see the Cliffs of Moher which I was very happy about so try use your "best weather" day for this trip to avoid the chance of fog/mist on the cliffs.
Go to McDonagh's in Galway for the best fish and chips and seafood chowder, all at reasonable prices.

I really loved the day I spent with Tara as my guide and Sidney as our driver. Tara was incredibly accommodating and excellent at telling us all about the route while also giving us time to rest and ensure we were fed and comfortable. She was very funny and keen to adapt her presentations to our personal interests, which I greatly appreciated. Sidney also drove so well we hardly remembered we were on a bus—I felt safe even on the narrow hilly roads I wouldn’t have driven myself. I’d love to go on another tour with these two.

Could this be a one way option with drop off in Galway. Also can you bring a backpack that would fit in the back of the car.
Written January 28, 2023
You can do a one way drop off in Galway, you just need to let them know ahead of time. The bus has space overhead to store backpacks and also at your feet. Lots of people had backpacks/bags on board!
