About the operator
- Camilla J00Giants CausewayRory was great! He explained loads of things during the trip. Very friendly and helpful. The trip would not be the same without him! Highly recommended!
- O6938TGkarenh00A spectacular taste of what a Ireland has to offerThe views were spectacular. They catered to all ages. Something in it for everyone. Richard O'Brian is also a wonderful resource. Lots of great tips
- Becky N00Giants CausewayOur guide John was funny and engaging. A sarcastic sense of humor. We got lucky with the weather. DunLuce Castle stop gave some beautiful views. I was surprised at Giants Causeway that we didn’t have tickets to enter The Experience. I thought it was included. He gave good advice to walk the upper path and down the stairs. The Dark Hedges stop was a little underwhelming. May have enjoyed it more if I had watched Game of Thrones. Enjoyed the hour in Belfast. I’m glad I made the trip.
- Paul S00Brilliant!Got upgraded to the luxury tour! Great driver, knowledgeable and fun! Amazing car, lovely atmosphere, good weather! Absolutely enjoyed the entire day!
- himirz00Physical abuse to my 16 year daughter by driver of Paddywagon Tours !!!The tour was “Blarney Castle Day Tour from Dublin Including Rock of Cashel & Cork City” (ticket attached herewith) Today morning (ie 7th August 2023) when we reached the pickup point , your company employee could not find our name on his list. His name is possibly Paul or Patrick, he didn’t tell his real name I am afraid. He searched on his phone and while we were boarding the bus , he pushed me and my 16 year old daughter, pushing us into the bus . When I asked him why did he have to push us, he asked us to step down from the bus . We politely stepped down from the bus as he assured us that he would check with his office and sort this out . He kept us waiting there on the road for 15 minutes while assuring us all the while that he was sorting this out . Later he lied to us that there was another bus coming and then just got onto his bus and drove away , leaving me and my family stranded on the road without any information or update. His behavior is absolutely unpardonable and objectionable, as he did 2 grave mistakes here : 1. He pushed me and my daughter. I mean how can he treat customers like this , especially to a child, my 16 year old daughter. what kind of respect is this to a minor and a child and to a customer !!! Absolutely disgusting and atrocious!!! Very very disrespectful.. 2. He left us stranded on the road , lying to us all the while and falsely telling us that he was sorting out , when actually he was doing none of it . He left without any update or any further information given to us . The bus was not even completely occupied. He could have accommodated us on the trip . But just because we didn’t keep quiet for his disrespectful behavior and didn’t take it lying down, he left us stranded on the road and went away !! Is this how tourists and customers are to be treated in the country ?
- stephlovenz00Perfect half day trip to get out of the city and see beautiful Irish landscapesHad a brilliant day in Glendalough, the half day tour was perfect if you don't have time for a full day. We spent a couple of hours exploring the upper lake and the old church ruin and cemetery were absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide Mick was cracking, had heaps of knowledge of the local area and looked after us well.
- peterdJ5371IK00Wonderful day adventure! We had a wonderful time. Paul was a wonderful tour guide and driver. He was very informative and kept things moving along. We were a family with adult children and there was something for everyone. Would definitely recommend!
- David M00Great day outPaddy wagon tours were very well organised and our bus driver/ tour guide Brian was really informative and new his history Great day out.
- I3327UGkimberlyb00Go with another tour companyTo be completely honest, this was the worst experience I have ever had on an organized tour and it doesn't even deserve one-star. My family in Ireland had recommended Paddywagon to us so that we could be with other energetic travelers and they are now regretting this after hearing each day what was happening. We spent a lot of money for this 8-day tour and it was beyond disappointing all-around and my family (there in Dublin and Waterford Counties) are just utterly shocked at how this tour went for my sister and I as Paddywagon has been around for years and they thought we would have a good experience. I will include commentary from my sister, but I want to point out that I did email Paddywagon during the tour (twice) and I never got a response back yet they were quick to respond to me prior to me booking the 8-day tour. Lowlights: Itinerary was changed and we got very few stops as the driver determined they were not worth going to and/or there was no time to stop for them and we spent 6-8 hours just sitting on a bus; absolutely no commentary on the history/sites from a very sick Driver who was coughing and sneezing and for which I had to provide him with cough drops and purchase more for him until he finally went into a pharmacy to get medication; had to endure and cater to a sick child on the tour bus for which we had to make a detour to a pharmacy for and almost had to take another detour to take her to a hospital - why, would Paddywagon allow a sick driver and a sick passenger to continue on the tour putting other passengers at risk; the WiFi only worked sporadically for the first 3 days of the tour and then after that never worked again; a couple of the accommodations were beyond horrible - dirty/filthy and I have photos to show the state of the bedding; the driver allowed a couple of the 6-day tour passengers to stay on the tour and even took a side-trip to pick up one of the 6-day passengers friends and allow them to tour around with the 8-day tour passengers. Just a complete disappointment all around and my family in Ireland and I will never recommend a Paddywagon tour to anyone ever again after this experience and unprofessionalism by the Driver. From my sister who had never been to Ireland: "This was my first trip to Ireland. I was so excited to take the 8-day tour. The itinerary covered all of the key places I had heard of. I was greatly looking forward to seeing all of the beautiful landscapes and towns, learning of the history along the way. However, the tour did not go as planned nor did it cover all of the sites it claimed it would. I did see lots of beautiful countryside, and some of the listed stops. However first we were rerouted across southern Ireland. This caused much more driving time and less time at the stops we were meant to have. Many of the places we were supposed to see we were not able to. Our tour guide, John... though a nice man, did not have knowledge of most of the places we went. All he talked about were places to eat. I had to tell him multiple times that we didn't come to Ireland for the food, we came to see the country. He was just a driver with a horrible cold, and not what you assume you're getting when taking a tour. So many of our assigned stops were not made, yet he did add on a couple other stops, which were nice, however, that was additional money we had to pay to view what he took us to. For example, he decided to take us to Bunratty Castle right before it was getting ready to close up for the nightly dinner show and we had to pay the entrance fee ourselves (not included in the tour) and then be told we had to hurry up as we only had 10 minutes before the castle would close for the nightly dinner. Most towns and sites we visited we were given an hour or one hour and a half at the most; which meant we were hurried along and barely enough time to even see anything (this included trying to get something to eat for lunch). So many of our scheduled stops he didn't make claiming we would not see anything anyways because of the rain. We missed the entire area of the Rings of Kerry, Molly Gap, Ladies View, Leprechaun Crossing, Killarney National Park and the lakes of Killarney, and Strandhill. We were taken only to Torc Waterfall. After visiting the Cliffs of Moher he was going to bypass the Burren completely. First, he claimed due to the rain he would not stop at the Burren as there wasn't anything to see. I finally pointed out that it's Ireland, it rains and why was it listed on our tour if this was an area not worth seeing. So he then relented as I was so upset and threw a fit on the bus, so he pulled over to the side of the road next to the Burren and allowed my sister and I to go out for a very short walk on the lunar landscape. Though we were not permitted enough time to see the underground rivers and waterfalls of the Burren as he refused to stop again. He wanted to quickly get up to Galway is what he kept saying over and over, I assumed this was because he was so sick and all he wanted to do was get to the next accommodation. The accommodations there were horrible in Galway. Our Galway room at the Aaron House was first off dirty, we did not have enough toilet paper and we could not get it resupplied till the next morning. The hot water was turned off at the Aaron House in Galway and we could not shower at night. The drive from Galway to Derry we did not stop where the itinerary stated, instead we only had one planned stop at some pub along the side of the road in the middle of nowhere that John liked so we could use the bathroom and get food. The only other stop that day was made because one of the tag along 6-day tour passenger (she grew up in Donegal and Derry) asked John if we could stop so she could show her friend and us 8-day tour passengers a place to stop so that everyone could at least see something. It was the Grianan of Aileach. That was beautiful. We did have a nice tour when we got into Derry that was given by a guy named Rory; this was our first information provided about anything really on the entire trip (this was the first actual historical information we were given by the tour company the entire trip). On day 7 we actually had a day of sightseeing. Dunblane Castle, Giants Causeway, the rope bridge, and Dark Hedges. However, at Dunlace castle we had to pay ourselves though it was listed in the itinerary as the tour driver told us our entrance fee was not included and wanted it to just be a short stop. At Giants Causeway John did not want to give us much time because he said it was just a bunch of rocks and we had to beg to have 1.5 hours there. I find that insulting that a tour guide would refer to one of your countries’ iconic landscapes like that. All in all, I was able to see the places I would like to return to and actually get to fully experience. However, I do not feel we got anywhere near what was represented when we booked and paid for our tour. Because of that I do not think I would ever do another tour again with Paddywagon. Though I've been told by many people (including another Paddywagon tour guide we met along the way) that is not how most tours go and they were very empathetic when hearing what had happened to us on this 8-day tour. I hope that you can use this experience to better educate your tour guides and help to make better experiences for future customers."
- Debbie1962_1200Brilliant!Gerry our tour guide was absolutely brilliant! He was very knowledgeable and answered any question anyone had. He said he if he didn’t know the answer he will Find out before the end of the trip! Nothing was too much trouble he is an absolute asset to your company.
- RoseTroy300Great All Day TourMy friend and I did this tour on the first full day we had in Ireland. It was a great introduction! The weather cooperated and we had sunny skies all day. Our first main stop (you will stop at a gas station go and coming) was the Rock Of Cashel. This impressive collections of ruins was breathtaking. You stop before you see it to get a photo, then the tour guide buys you a ticket to walk around inside. Other tour guides did a guided tour but not Viator/Paddywagon. We preordered our food for lunch so that we didn't waste time in Cork. You do not have time to visit anything but the few shops around the pre determined restaurant. Then you arrive at Blarney Castle. We went on a Saturday, so it was busy. At first, we weren't going to wait in the one hour line to visit the inside of the castle and kiss the stone, but that is why you came, right?!? We barely had enough time to visit the gardens and kiss the stone before the time limit was up. As you wait in line, there are signs telling you what was in each room you pass as you make your way up the narrow steps. Eventually, you make it to the top of the castle and have a great view of the surrounding countryside. As you go around to actually kiss the stone, you see how people lay on their back and are "escorted" or scooted to the stone to kiss. You really have to lean way down to kiss the right stone. I kissed the wrong one and had to kiss another stone to get it right..lol.
- renceoreilly00Gorgeous views and interesting historyWell organized and always on time, cause they leave you behind if you’re late. Which I liked. Great ambassadors for the company on each leg of the 2-two day trips we took. Shout out to all the driver/tour guides. Jacky. Davey. Paul. Owen(inside joke apparently). Jacky’s colour man Stephen.
- brownabs0010/10Surprise detour. I was delayed in Dublin for a day and on a whim tried out this afternoon half day tour to Glendalough. Not only was it gorgeous, but our tour guide made sure we had time to see Guinness Lake (woooooow). Jackie was quick-witted with a rocking Irish playlist, and an extensive knowledge of Ireland’s history. I would have given him my number, but instead I’ll give him a 10/10 review in hopes he’ll be driving the tour my next time in Ireland.
- 865kerrit00Great time!Amazing! Our driver shared a wealth of information and made it really fun. The stops were thoughtful and beautiful.
- Derek B00Belfast TripHad a good time out with the Paddy- Wagon. Tour guide was very funny and had lots of knowledge. Ran on time and easy to use. Would use again and select another option to see more of Ireland.

I was supposed to go on this trip the summer of 2020. Due to the Covid pandemic, I had to request a refund. I was told my refund was "in the queue" and would take a "little time" to process my refund. It's three years later and after many requests for updates on my refund, I've yet to hear back after the initial response from Paddywagon Tours. Do yourself a favor and AVOID this company. Their customer service is HORRIBLE!!!

I had been to Dublin in the past and wanted my husband to see the things I had seen on a cruise shore excursion. We looked on the internet and found Paddywagon tours. We took two days, one to go to Giants Causeway and Belfast and the other to tour Dublin. We had the same guide both days and he was great. Gary met us promptly each day as scheduled and added so much personal experiences to the narrative. At the end of the two days we felt like we had a new friend in Ireland. He recommended several restaurants and stores, all of which turned out to be outstanding. We spent just the right amount of time at each stop and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Gary. As a result of his feedback think we will return to Ireland and spend more times in other parts of the country. Definitely worth the price!

This was our first trip to Ireland so we were interested in seeing as much as possible. The Paddywagon tour was informative, reasonably priced, and very enjoyable. We booked the overnight in Belfast and would highly recommend taking the extra day. The hotel was in the university district. It was very comfortable and the hotel included a very nice breakfast. We were giving adequate time at the tour sites and it was a fun trip.

We had originally booked to go on the tour the day before we actually went. We were badly caught up in traffic and we missed our tour. This was no problem, the staff in the booking office simply changed our date to the following day. We were so glad they did.
Our tour was driven by Richard O'brien. He was amazing and full of 'craic'. He made the whole tour. He was full of knowledge about the history and the area that added so much more to where we were actually going. His soundtrack for the tour was on point and he had us laughing the whole way.
We will he back in Ireland on holiday again next year and we will definitely be booking another tour.

We took the 2 day tour and didn’t pick the backpacker option, I don’t recall what the name was but the accommodation was excellent and the area could not have been better. Our tour guides were very entertaining and provided a lot of interesting information.
We took the optional black taxi tour, totally worth it but they should update the rates as it costed almost double than it’s currently listed.

If you want to have an on-time, informative, and excellent driver/guide Richard's your man! The weather was not very nice but Richard's storytelling, prompt departures, humor and attentiveness to every passenger was stellar! His food recommendations were spot on delicious. I highly recommend Paddy wagon tours and Richard as your guide. I do NOT write reviews - he was worth it!

We toke this 2-day tour and experienced 2 totally different days. The first day started badly. Our tour guide Frank rushed off to the bus only with half of the group (we were standing in front of the traffic light and lost the group). At the 3rd pick up place, it appeared the tour was overbooked, some passengers couldn't get into the cramped overheated mini-bus. In Belfast Frank left the bus and the trunk open while talking to the black taxi drivers, I was really worried our luggage would be stolen. In the evening he left us in the hostel without any information about the pick up time for the next day. The second day however was superb, a big airconditioned bus was waiting for us with an extremely kind driver, Paul. Although the rope bridge was closed because of the wind, he made sure we could have a view on it from a hill top. He is an excellent story teller, I will remember his story about giant McCool for a long long time! All together, I would recommand this tour!!

I took this tour with my family on a Wednesday. Our guide, Gerry, was fantastic and thankfully we had him 2 days in a row. We got to see all the Belfast highlights, including the Game of Thrones exhibition and the Titanic Museum. We also took the taxi tour, but I would not recommend it, as it kind of made me a bit uncomfortable but that's what is still happening in NI so it's accurate. The person coordinating our hotels on Wednesday night was a bit overwhelmed so it was a bit frustrating, but we got to our accommodation in the end. Our BnB was on a top floor of a small house that had no A/C so plan accordingly and pack light. The second day of the tour was amazing. The Dark Hedges were ok, but the Giant's Causeway and Carriack-a-Rede rope bridge was fantastic. I strongly recommend the walking tour to Giant's Causeway. The Guide there (Jamie) was amazing and his family has been giving tours for generations. I would recommend anyone who was interesting in Northern Ireland to do this tour, especially with Paddywagon.

Similar to Mamrosa2 - we will be carrying our luggage with us as this will be in between hotel bookings. Is there room to store the carry-on luggage for two people or is it just intended to be backpack friendly?

In the morning you will store your luggage in the bus. At the end of the day the bus driver will retrieve your luggage for you and send you on your way to the accomodations for the evening. The next day you will store your luggage again in the bus.

I didn’t notice any place but call paddy wagon tours or email them and they should be able to tell you. They were super nice. We walked there from our hotel.

Hi There,
I would like to check a few things as follows:
1. Normally how many person/traveller during the tour?
2. Is there any additional charges besides the tour package?
3. What kind of coach/bus will be? How many seaters?
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,

Hey Yvonne,
To answer your questions:
Typically there can be up to 30/40 people on the bus but I assume it can also depend on the time of year and how busy it is. Some of the tours have optional additional costs for example with Northern Ireland you can also take a black taxi tour which is 15 Euro a person and you have to buy your own lunch and dinner. The buses are comfortable coach buses. Great for travel!

Hi Yvonne!
To answer your questions, I believe there can be about 30 - 40 people on the tour, depending what time of the year and how many sign up for that particular tour. As to added fees there are optional experiences that you can do alongside a tour. For example, on the Northern Ireland one you can do a black Taxi tour and that an extra 15 euro but it’s your choice to go or not (I’d recommend it) and then you have to pay for lunch and dinner. The buses are very comfortable coach style - large and spacious.
