About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- saaamanthalynn0 contributionsPerfect non touristy tourist thing to doWe enjoyed this tour as it was the perfect non touristy tourist thing to do. I really liked the fact that you’re just driven where you need to go, and you do the exploring on your own without being paraded around by someone holding a flag that clearly indicates you’re tourists. The Marina Market was the perfect ending activity as well after viewing the castle. The bus was comfortable and modern, and the only big tourist stand out but I can look past that.Written December 2, 2024
- Ever8130 contributionsPaddywagon Tours is the way to travel in Ireland! We took a trip to the Giant's Causeway from Belfast. (this one it’s not listed in the dropdown menu). The experience matched the quality of our Dublin trip: a modern, clean, and comfortable bus. Our driver was attentive and kind, ensuring a safe journey while sharing engaging stories and local history along the way. We highly recommend Paddywagon Tours!Written December 1, 2024
- Ever8130 contributionsGiant's Causeway: A Must-See Destination! The Giant's Causeway is an extraordinary place that shouldn't be missed. And at this time of year, it's pleasantly uncrowded, allowing you to fully appreciate its stunning landscape. The unique rock formations are truly remarkable and offer an unforgettable experience. We loved the sunny day trip to Giants Causeway. I bet you will like it too!Written December 1, 2024
- Q6646UTmarianar0 contributionsGreat day trip!Great tour with beautiful views! Paul, the tour guide, was amazing. Really nice, with great knowledge of places and history. We also suggested loads of restaurants and pubs in Dublin! Wonderful day.Written December 1, 2024
- Katie_Horn20 contributionsDon't Book for a SundayWe loved Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle (and kissing the Blarney Stone!), and getting a bit of time in Cork. However, don't book on a Sunday because the English Market is closed. Without it, there wasn't much to do other than shop and get a quick bite to eat. If you want to kiss the Blarney Stone, you can actually do it for free, have someone film you doing it, then go to the bottom to see if you want to purchase one of their pictures of you kissing the stone for €10. That way, if you don't like their pics, you still have the video on your phone. Don't pay any money unless you want their photo that you see before purchasing, and if so, pay at the bottom. I will say, the staircase to the stone is very windy and small. People with mobility issues may struggle.Written December 1, 2024
- Jessica V0 contributionsBus tripOur driver was great. Shay knew a lot of fun facts. He kept the tour on schedule for the itinerary. The bus was clean and comfortable After talking with family. We think it would have been better without the stop in cork. More time at Blarney. Rock do Cashel was beautiful and just the right amount of time (30mins)Written November 30, 2024

- KD94381570 contributionsChange in itinerary disappointingThe experience was good, but not perfect. Michael and Liam were very good guide and driver. We had just the right amount of time to explore the Rock of Cashel. It was pretty cool place but would have liked more information once we actually got to the site. Next we went to Blarney which was a change to the itinerary. Exploring the castle and gardens was really amazing. However, because we were there through lunchtime (to 2:30), it wasn’t enough time to also explore the wool shop and eat. I took 15 minutes to grab a sandwich but that left no time for the shop which I was greatly disappointed with. Had we stopped in Cork first, that would have easily taken care of getting lunch and I would have had full time for both the castle and the shop. Cork was a waste of time. The English Market had all fresh foods, mostly unprepared, so you couldn’t really purchase anything. I had to kill time in a department store. I was pretty mad about that actually. I am contemplating how I can get back to Blarney on my last day in Dublin so I can do the shop (according to my daughter is wonderful).Written November 28, 2024
- MooneyMV0 contributionsGlendalough and water fallsSean was informative and fun. Great info on contemporary Irish history and politics. If you want to do the trails all around the lakes at Glendalough you need 3.5 hours. Seeing the waterfalls was awesome.Written November 25, 2024
- Ever8130 contributionsDon’t miss this opportunity and just go there!About Paddywagon Tours: well organized tour agents, comfy and clean bus and attentive and kind driver/guide. I recommend this agency. Glendalough is breathtakingly beautiful. You'll be captivated by the ancient stone houses and ruins, the historic cemetery, and the scenic walking paths. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring your camera. You’ll find food trucks near the trail to the lake, perfect for a quick bite. Don’t miss this visit; it’s an experience you won’t want to lose out on!Written November 25, 2024
- 231arw0 contributionsBeautiful Cliffs, Freezing Cold Bus!The best part of the tour was the Cliffs of Moher. We got very lucky and had a very clear view on the day we were there. However, there were other aspects of the tour that were frustrating. Every stop felt rushed. If I'd had more time, I would've done an overnight trip to the west coast. I would also have reversed the route we took. We got to Galway around 10am and had to leave by 11:30am. Most of the shops were closed, and the Christmas Market that the tour guide told us about did not open until 12:00pm. If we'd gone to the Cliffs first, we could've enjoyed Galway more in the afternoon when more of the shops and restaurants were open. Also, we didn't stop to eat until nearly 3:30pm, and we only had 40 minutes, which felt very rushed. Luckily, I had packed some snacks and gotten a coffee in Galway. I would recommend bringing snacks, and/or purchasing food in the morning that you can eat on the bus. The bus was freezing! It was a very cold day, and the driver did not turn on the heat. We asked him to, and it seemed like he did for a few minutes, but then turned it off again. There were 6 of us on the mini-bus, and we were all shivering even with our coats, etc. It was nice to meet and chat with fellow travelers. The Cliffs of Moher are definitely worth a visit, but it may also be worth looking at other tour companies.Written November 21, 2024
- W4046RAaliciar0 contributionsBeautiful half dayIt was amazing!!! Alex, our driver, gave us some history on the way there and we loved it since we could understand more of the place we were visiting. He also walked a bit with us to show us the way to the lakes and waterfalls. It was the perfect half day tour, since we saw a bit of the outside of the city but without loosing a whole day. Even though it rained, the walk was still absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed it so much!!!!!!! We’ll definitely recommend it to anyone we know if they come to Dublin for a few days. Thank you Alex!Written November 20, 2024
- Trevor L0 contributionsTotally worth the trip!Ok this is a must tour! It was a great experience and we totally enjoyed it. The couch was comfortable and the driver nice. Only reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the address where we were told to meet didn’t exist. We were told to meet at the Paddy’s Palace only to find out the place no longer exists. Fortunately most of the tour was on the right street wandering up and down trying to find the place. The bus showed up on the other side of the road from where we were told. It started the tour with most of us nervous we were in the wrong place, which we were, But aside from that certainly GO! Its was worth the trip.Written November 19, 2024
- DayTrip3821730 contributionsGiant's Causeway and Glendalough with Sean were perfect! We did two tours (Giant's Causeway and Glendalough), both with the same driver Sean and both were absolutely lovely. Everything logistical from booking to the pickup was perfect. The tours were great and our driver Sean was fantastic. He gave lots of great information without it being too much. He was also very accomodating.Written November 18, 2024

I stay in Carlow.
I went with Paddywagon twice. One for Belfast and the other for Kerry. Belfast trip was a decent experience but the tour was just not stopping to talk. Everyone was asleep on the bus still he was talking continuously with irrelevant information. On the other hand, on the Kerry Day tour, the tour guide who was also our bus driver seemed uninterested and wasn't sharing much information about the tourist spots. I had one more bad experience with regards to the Kerry Day Tour.
I had booked 2 tickets for the Kerry day tour on 18th June 2022. The tour was starting from Dublin. I had booked JJ Kavanagh's return bus tickets from Carlow to Dublin for the tour.
The tour was scheduled to reach back in Dublin at approximately 8:30 pm. Hence, I had booked JJ Kavanagh bus return tickets to Carlow at 9 pm(the last JJ bus on that day). However, the tour was almost an hour late(45-60 mins). Hence, I had to book my Bus Eireann return tickets again. It cost me €30 for the new tickets.
I wanted to know the possibility of reimbursement from their side due to the delay. I emailed Paddywagon and they responded more than 10 days later only to let me know that they can't reimburse me as they don't consider it their fault for the delay.
Wild Rover Tours is a much better Day Tours company and I would recommend it to you as I had two flawless experiences with them on the Galway and Kilkenny/Glendalough Day Tours.

This company is terrible! I was scheduled on their Ring of Kerry Tour from Killarney and they called me an hour before we were due to leave to tell me "there was a problem with their bus" so they had to put me with another company. The tour they moved me to was overpacked and not even the same itinerary. I paid $45 for the tour I was supposed to go on and I saw the one they moved me to last minute was only $30. I tried to contact them multiple times to get my refund for the difference and they never responded to me. Terrible customer service and definitely would not recommend.

Our bus driver, Aden (Aidan?) was pleasant, charming, and knowledgeable. He had a full load of 64 passengers, and he kept us safe on the narrow "Ring of Kerry" roads, and he kept us on time without losing anyone. Great job. Great tour. Highly recommended.

A great experience. Our driver and guide, Rory, was both knowledgeable and funny, and made sure everyone on the tour had the time and opportunity not only to see the sights and take part in activities along the way, but to take a break when needed. It couldn’t have been easier to book, and it saved the hassle of trying to rent a car and navigate some extremely narrow roads in Kerry. A great way to see some well-known high points and get a taste of what Kerry offers. After we got back to Dublin, Rory even took time to give everyone who asked advice and directions to things to do that night in the city.

This was a loong day trip but the scenery was gorgeous! The coastal scene, the mountain scene, the country roads, the quaint little towns, very picturesque! The bus was not full so I was able to sit on the first row with a great, unobstructed view of the scenery through the front window of the bus, that was a plus :) We had a horse and buggy ride at Killarney National Park, our horse was Ruby Tuesday, her owner & our coachman was hilarious! Our coach bus driver/guide was Dave, a laid back, patient, "Zen-vibe," gentleman. It was impressive how he multi-tasked, driving those narrow, winding roads while also talking, giving us information and telling stories for almost 14 hours! I liked his "Ask Dave" portion where he passed a notebook so we can write our questions for him, he would answer them as he drove along, it was entertaining. The only constructive feedback I have is about the pick-up point of this tour. We got there earlier but was unsure whether we were at the right spot, there were some other people /tourists waiting but like us they were also uncertain if they were at the right pick-up point. It worked out ok in the end but it just seemed a bit disorganized and can definitely be improved on. I also assumed that the bus would have been at the pick-up point at least 10-15 minutes earlier than the departure time but it was not, they picked us up exactly at 6:30 am. A different tour company I used 2 days before had their coach bus at the pick-up point probably 30 minutes before departure, I think that was more efficient. Overall, though, it was a good tour with beautiful scenery and for a long drive like this, we couldn't have asked for a better driver/guide than Dave. The driver before him (there was a different driver during the first hour) told us we'd be in good hands with "gentle Dave," and he was certainly right. Dave didn't even ask for tips unlike others (we tipped him anyway). The gorgeous scenery and Dave were 5 stars, but 4 stars for the meeting point issue.

We did a full day trip from Dublin to Kerry . It was excellent The tour guide / driver Gerry was engaging, knowledgeable and passionate about his country. His commentary was interesting, funny at times and we'll paced ( leaving us time to nod off as needed!) He kept to the itinerary in a very timely fashion. The visit to Killarney was enhanced by the additional 'jaunting carts ' into the National Park. A highlight was our last stop in delightful sunshine - Inch Beach on the Dingle peninsula. Who knew you could surf in Ireland! An early start ( 6.30am ) and a return at 9pm meant that Gerry gave us a full day

We went on this tour and to be fair, it’s way too long. The attractions are 4 hrs away from Dublin and in my opinion not worth driving that much.
The attractions are not really worth seeing and the stops are too short to even make the most of it.
Killarney is pretty nice and the horse and carriage tour (14€ extra) was worth it. However, again, too far from Dublin. Maybe would be more worth it from Cork or to spend the night if you do a 2 day tour or have your own car.
The guide was nice but didn’t feel like they explained much or told us nice facts.
The bus was comfortable but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this tour.

Terrible company with zero customer service! Do not waste your money. They told us to park somewhere 10 minutes away that wound up being 30 minutes and they left without us. Then refused to refund our money and we’re very rude about it. You’re much better off driving yourself or choosing another company.

We loved it! DJ was a very nice guide who kept us laughing the entire trip. We appreciated the well planned bathroom breaks as well as the information about Irish culture. As long as you are always on time, you will have the best trip ever !!!!!

I had to cancel the tour due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. I was told that since I planned ahead and booked over 28 days in advance, that they could not issue a refund. How would one know to expect a pandemic. They were not sympathetic to the situation and would not offer a refund. I had also booked with Wild Rover Tours and they refunded my tours within hours of my request. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND WILD ROVER TOUR!!!!!!
