Good Way to Get Around, Except for tge Traffic
We enjoyed the hop on hop off tour and the places it took us to. The stops were easy to find and if you download their app you can track when the bus will be arriving at the stop you’re at. The one downside was later in the afternoon it look us 2 hours to get from Christchurch Cathedral back to the first stop because if the traffic volume. We missed one stop because we would’ve run out of time and the buses end at 5pm

Upper deck not good on rainy days
We had just one day in Dublin, so using the hop on hop off service was a good way to see the key landmarks in the city. Overall, it worked well for us. We joined the bus at the Guiness Storehouse and choose to remain on the bus for the rest of the route back into the main part of the city centre. I’m assuming we just missed a bus as we had a 20 minute wait for one to arrive at the Storehouse (other providers buses turned up in the interim) but 15-20 minute intervals is in line with the published service information so that was just our unfortunate timing. On the day we visited Dublin there were many rain showers. Whilst the tour company cannot control the weather, using a bus with a partial covering on the upper deck would create a better experience for customers. We have seen the partial covered buses in other cities on our travels, they also shade some of the sun on hot days. We spent some of the time on the upper deck which was ideal and then downstairs when it rained, but couldn’t return upstairs when the rain stopped as all the seats were wet and unusable unless you were happy with a very soggy behind. The journey on the bus was at times quite slow, as it’s a busy place, there are several stops and traffic lights on the route so allow plenty of time to cover the distance. It’s a useful way to see the city but its not necessarily speedy ! Our final top tip is to look for deals – these types of buses can be quite expensive. We picked up a Groupon offer which saved us several euros for our group – had we have paid the published price I would have rated lower.

      Very Good Overview of Dublin
A very good tour. No guides on board, so they use taped commentary. Many of the plug ins didn't work though, so it was tough to find working commentary. You see a huge amount of the city, a very thorough tour. Took about 2 hours to go the loop. Recommended for a great overview of Dublin.

      Needs consistent branding
The company needs to solidify their branding logo, as a start. My wife purchased tickets for us to take our four year old grandson on the double bus, and to the Dublin castle. Neither of us knew there were multiple hop on, hop off companies here. She sent me the PDF so I could map where we needed to go. The top of the PDF has a HOHO logo for hop on, hop off. That doesn't match anything on their buses or the signs on the bus stops. So we tried to get on to the Big Bus (what came up when I had searched Google for Dublin). He told us the QR code was not theirs. So we had seen some of the green buses (Do Dublin) by then and looked up their map. Moved to one of their stops. The first driver let us on because he was rushed. So we did get to the castle and the little guy loved it. But when we tried to get back on, that second driver tried to figure it out why the code didn't work and found the words City Sightseeing. By then we had seen one of those just go by. They seem to be the lesser of the three companies and we finally tired of waiting. So we walked back to the hotel. Some of the things above were our own fault. But a lousy day could have turned much brighter by the simple consistency of marketing material. Our purchase was a waste.

terrible customer service - do not use this company
the customer service team via email were unhelpful and refused assistance as I had bought my ticket from groupon. My complaint was not about the buying the ticket but about the hour long wait I had with my elderly father. At no point in any of the emails did a customer service person apologize about the lack of buses running, instead the insisted it was not their problem as I had not paid them directly. Really unimpressed with the service and would not use them again.

      City bus ride.
It was a bus ride around the city. The commentary was minimal and not informative. Do not waste your money. Google is more informative.

      Book another tour bus.
Save your money book another sight seeing tour. I suggest Big bus or Hop on Hop Off . City sight seeing tour was sporadic at best only running 4 busses this day opposed to the other two mentioned. Waited between 45 minutes to an hour between pick ups. We had 4 or 5 stops to see, we were only able to get to two stops in the 7 hours we were in Dublin. Very disappointed with this tour company, the only reason we booked this tour company was Trip Advisor rating.

Not good frequency so you can’t cover enough spots
Not a lot of buses. We saw the green ones a plenty but these were far and few between. Do yourself a favor and first look how many buses are plying. For a day ticket of this hop on hop off we were able to do only 2 stops for exploration, because we were waiting for the next bus for 20-30 mins. The frequency is terrible- 50 mins to one hour. So even if you finish clicking pictures and exploring one stop, you can’t go to another till the next bus comes. We took a stop at Trinity college, explored the busy square while waiting for the bus. Even had coffee. After 55 mins the bus came and we realized this would be its last round. The driver however wouldn’t even give us a full route. He turned half way thru the botanical garden to finish off his trip. How we know? We had done the first full one.

      Choose their competitors
I had taken this bus previously and had a good experience. This time was horrible. Every competitors’ buses passed multiple times before ours did. The wait was miserable knowing I could have picked someone else and already been picked up. Pick DoDublin or CityBus instead.

      Terrible Experience
I have used the Hop on Hop off bus previously and had always had a positive experience. Unfortunately, my recent trip to Dublin was very disappointing. The first bus we were on got a flat tire. We waited for more than 20 minutes for the next bus. That bus then literally broke down in the middle of the road. The driver was uncaring and unhelpful as he discharged us from the bus with no other means of transportation. We were nowhere near another bus stop and ultimately had to rely on public transportation.

      Waste of money.
Whole tour felt like it was a sell for other attractions. Recorded commentary often didn't tie up with the location, long gaps when nothing was said even when passing interesting sights. Seemingly random experts of Irish music added nothing. Fake bonhomie. May as well had taken a public bus or two and carried a guide book. More informative and way, way cheaper for. Not sure if other company tours are any better, but avoid this one.

It was so cold that being on the upper deck did not work, but the view from the lower deck was great. I love Hop On Hop Off bus tours great. A host of languages to choose from. It's a great way to see where things are and sort of get oriented when you visit a new city. And watching the sights with the map, made it so easy to come back and see more in detail. Always a great way to start a visit. LOVED IT!

They didn't tell us the route before we started, but in talking to others at the hotel, it was highly recommended. We added it to our day tour ticket and are glad we did. The tour took us to several excellent stops and our guide, Ross, was hilarious. We saw various parts of the city along with a few coastal stops. Enough bathroom stops and the right duration to get back at a reasonable time for dinner. You won't be sorry.

Be aware that the title "Dublin shore excursion" is misleading. This tour does NOT pick cruise passengers up at the port - you must find your own way into the city (It says so in the "fine print" but not prominently). Once in the city, it was difficult to find the bus location. Ended up taking a different tour.

the most informative trip I have had. I have taken it 5 or 6 times and it's a new experience every time. took the 1916 tour ( don't know if it's still running) but it was the best tour I have been on. being from Dublin I thought I knew it all, but the guides ( especially Eddie) on the tour we're amazing. with their local knowledge, and little details of events and places around the city. would highly recommend taking this tour.

Eoin 100% made this tour so perfect! We were excited to see the Malahide Castle and town of Howth and could not have been happier with our decision to utilize this tour group to do it with. While we were still getting used to the time change (being from California) we had initially missed our departure time, but after reaching out to the tour company, they were quick to allow us the opportunity to take the afternoon trip instead! It was so COLD but Eoin’s humor and knowledge made it all that much better!

    Thank you so much, Eoin!!

Not usually a fan of bus tours, but we wanted to maximize use of our Dublin pass so used our hop on/off ticket for a ride to Teelings. We lucked out and got Declan. He’s not only hilarious, but a surprisingly good singer. Not sure if all of his celebrity stories are true either, but they sure were entertaining as was his commentary on the Luas. If there’s a way to get on one of his tours, do it!

I've traveled to different countries and cities and taken these type of bus tours. Guides are not all created equal. I also work in the hospitality industry and hire people that can create amazing experiences for people that pay for a service... so trust me when I say that Eoin is in the right job. He is REALLY good at what he does... and is genuinely funny! My friend and I laughed so much... you can tell he enjoys sharing his city and entertaining people on his bus. Such a great trip to the castle of Malahide and then to the city of Howth. I HIGHLY recommend this tour and that you seriously try to get Eoin as your guide.

Took the bus tour around the sites of Dublin on a very quiet day , easy to follow map of the route to pick out the highlights of the city , 24 or 48 hour tickets with a free walking tour included, with all the fears of the conovirus there was only 2 of us on the bus ! As soon as we started the tour audio description failed 😟 Jim our driver took up the challenge and provided us with his own brilliant commentary with added bonuses all the way round, he’s only a part time driver but what a star , made our day, thanks Jim 👍

We bought a 3 day bus pass for €37 and did the bus tours all around Dublin to get our bearings. On our last day we took a tour to Malahide Castle and Howth.
Our driver was called Eoin and he was brilliant. He talked non stop with a mixture of facts and humour and general observations. He made us feel very welcome and he has a brilliant sense of humour. He even played his tin whistle for a couple of songs to fill some space. Brilliant day with a very knowledgable driver. If you can do this tour try and feet into Eoins bus.
