What to expect
Your tour starts with pickup from Dublin in a comfortable, Wi-Fi–equipped coach bus. On the way to Belfast, you’ll stop at a rest area for breakfast, drinks, or snacks (at your own expense). It’s a long day, so it’s recommended you grab something to eat. At Belfast, your guide will point you to a black cab for a tour led by someone who grew up there during the Northern Ireland Conflict. Visit the Falls and Shankill neighborhoods, hearing first-hand accounts of the battles between the Catholics and the Protestants. You’ll see the Peace Wall, where you can sign your own name. Afterward, you’ll ride on the bus to the Giant’s Causeway, with a chance to buy lunch (own expense) before walking down the hill to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lastly, walk across the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge over the ocean before making the return drive back to Dublin.

Northern Ireland highlights tour.
Excellent Wild Rovers highlights tour of Northern Ireland. We selected the Belfast political tour by taxi (the other option was the Titanic museum) and were so humbled Don’t let “ taxi tour” deter you. We drove to various points in the city and actually got out to see street murals, memorials, the Belfast Wall to name a few. I don’t think any of our taxi group were not moved by the tragedies that took place during Belfast’s tortured history. Our taxi driver was very neutral and we thought he fairly presented both sides of the conflicts and turmoil. Later after lunch we had time to explore and hike around The Giant’s Causeway, then drove the beautiful coastal route back to Dublin. Our bus driver Sydney and guide David were excellent. David was knowledgeable and also entertained us with some classic Irish songs. On the return drive We took a step back to the 1980’s - watched a documentary about Irish news events during that timeline. Very entertaining and helped pass the time while we were on the motorway return trip. A very well organized tour!

We took this tour and coincidently got the same tour guide Murphy as we had for Cliffs of Mohar. The trip was great. Unfortunately the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge was still closed but they took us to DunLuce Castle in place of that, which was nice. Murphy was great. Kept things on time. Very educational to hear the history of Northern Ireland. Giant Causeway super big and amazing!!!

Murphy and joe were great tour guides ! Lots of banter fun and Irish singing. Murphy has a good set of pipes 😁. History lesson was interesting as well. Didn’t really enjoy the taxi cab ride wish I had gone to the titanic museum. Met really nice people and lunch was amazing (stopped at a place after Belfast). Would recommend this tour company

I’ll say it again - TAKE THIS TOUR!
Fantastic tour included a choice of the Titanic Museum or a black cab tour of the “troubles,” a visit to Dunluce Castle, and a visit to the Giant’s Causeway. It lasted 7 am to 8 pm but never felt hard. We had plenty of time at each site. The driver, Joe, and guide, Murphy, we wonderful companions. They kept the whole ride entertaining with back and forth banter, jokes, songs, and a whole lot of history and details about Irish history, folklore, language, and all kinds of specific information regarding the sites we were visiting. My wife and I did this same tour 5 years ago with our daughter (with the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge instead of Dunluce). We did it again this year bringing along our son and his girlfriend. Even with the repeat, I can’t say enough positive about wild rover tours. The buses are comfortable, the drivers really know how to move along, and the guides are knowledgeable, entertaining, and friendly. Take this tour. You won’t regret it.

This was a great trip! Honestly I was very nervous about an 8+ hour bus tour, but I’m so glad I did! Our trip was September. 2,2021. Both our Guide and Driver went way above and beyond to make the day fun and memorable. Our guide brought his guitar and sang us several Irish folk songs along the way, which I thought was a really personal touch. The trip ran like clockwork but yet we still had tons of time at each spot, and never felt hurried. On the way back, our guide met with each person to check in and offer any recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, shopping, whatever. This was at about 7 pm, after he’d been “on” for several hours, but he was still so engaged. Our driver helped with interpreting throughout the trip in addition to driving safely and smoothly. The bus was completely clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!

BEST TOUR EVER
Aug 2021
This tour was absolutely amazing. It was worth more than the price we paid for sure. We had a group of 4 adults and 4 children. David and Sidney were the two BEST tour guides. They were SO patient (we had 4 small kids and 2 seniors with us). And the cherry on top was that David played his guitar as an extra bit of entertainment during the trip. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland.

We opted to do the black taxi portion of the tour. The black taxi drivers were fun and very knowledgeable. The content wasn't geared towards kids, but we found that the movement and stops along the tour kept them engaged. We were glad we chose the black taxi tour after hearing that the titanic museum wasn't interesting for those who weren't engineering minded as it mostly focused on the ships building.

During the trip, my mother accidentally left her jacket and wallet in the black taxi and didn't realize it till we were gone. David and Sydney tracked the driver down and arranged for her to get it back during another leg of the trip. They turned a very stressful situation into a funny story.

I can't say enough about this tour and the tour guides. It was so good that we tried to find and replace other tours we had planned with wild rover ones (we unfortunately were not able to).

Amazing!
Sep 2021 • Friends
I highly recommend this day-trip! In the morning, we had a very interesting historic tour of Belfast with a local taxi driver, and in the afternoon, we took a walk in Giant causeway, and walked down the cliffs as well as on the cliffs where you can have an amazing view. Plus, David and Joe were of great company. Many thanks David for your interesting comments along the ride, the Irish songs you played on the bus, and you recommendations regarding restaurants and pubs, it was great!
NB: you get a discount if you book 2 day-trip!
