About the operator
- lauraaV5055SI00Enjoyed every momentThis was a wonderful tour. Our driver was friendly and our guide was full of both charm and knowledge he also had everyone laughing and took time to connect with us all. I was in Dublin only for two days for business and not sure if I should eat up all my time with a tour. But it was both worth every minute and the reasonable cost. Very good value!
- jenniferdJ7471JM00Wonderful tour experience!Hello! We are on our way home from the Blarney Castle tour from Dublin with our guide Phillip. Today has been simply wonderful! Phillip has been amazing, he is friendly, personable and very knowledgeable. He made us feel right at home and that we were safely in good hands. We have been traveling for two weeks and have been on many tours but this has by far been the best one yet! Thank you Phillip for a fabulous day!
- yolantas202300Blarney Castle and Rock of CashelThe visits were timed out perfectly. Our bus driver Barry was AMAZING! Learned a lot of facts about Ireland. Had a great time!
- ncblueone00Would highly recommendDavid was our guide. He was wonderful- knowledgeable, personable. Learned a lot. Right amount of time at each site. Sites were interesting and history at each site was enlightening.
- michaelmF6681QI00Great tour of Celtic Boyne valleyWonderful trip; highly recommended. Small group; got to do a lot of interesting visits and learned a lot of interesting information about ancient & medieval Celtic history.
- Connector17018500Winding along through WicklowMy spouse, nephew and I took the Wicklow day tour today and absolutely loved it. Our guide, Keith, was very knowledgeable about Irish history and made the tour both educational and fun. He was extremely witty and interacted well with each person on the tour. The tour offered the perfect number of stops and I feel we had adequate time at each location. Of all the trips/tours we've done, this is by far the best I've ever been on. 5 out of 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
- crusingsfun00Late for the tour and gave no informationThis was the worst tour I have ever experienced. The tour was from Dunmore East and was a cruise ship excursion. They have also refused to do any kind of reimbursement. The driver of the bus was one hour late to arrive. There was no explanation for the delay. Then he was absolutely quiet the whole excursion. Never gave us any information about what we were seeing while driving or any information on the sites that we were just dropped off at. Totally unacceptable. Don't understand how they get such good ratings. I'm hoping they will see this review and make some kind of effort to explain what went wrong.
- Inspire53593100Great time on the Blarney tour.We had Barry as our tour guide and driver. He was excellent and certainly did the part of explaining history while driving safely. For the experience, I loved visiting Blarney Castle and kissing the Blarney Stone. It was quite fun. Cashel rock also had lovely views. I didn’t get as much from the Cahir castle but the historic aspect alone is pretty great. So overall, ultimately, it depends on the person, but I myself really enjoyed the experience.
- A1085OXdianed00Beautiful and historic sitesAmazing tour guide, very knowledgeable and kind, showed us beautiful countryside. The sites on the tour were gorgeous, well worth the cost.
- subeem00Do Not Book with Irish Day ToursWe were a group of cruisers who had pre booked with Irish Day Tours from our port in East Dunmore. It was supposed to be a guided tour to Kilkenny Castle and St. Canice's. The bus, with only a driver and no tour guide, arrived a little more than an hour late. This was a problem as we were a group of older adults, some of us with mobility issues. We were left standing in a parking area! The driver did not apologize or give any reason as to why he was late. He did not give any explanations of where we were or what we were passing during our hour and a half "road trip" to Kilkenny. When we arrived at Kilkenny Castle, several of us asked the driver where he and the bus would be in case we needed something which we were leaving on the bus. He stated that he would stay with the bus at this exact drop off location. When my husband went back to the bus, about one hour later, to drop of our jackets and get some things which we had left on the bus, there was no sign of the driver. The arrangements made, when we arrived at Kilkenny shortly after 11AM, were that in case any of us didn't want to walk to St. Canice's Cathedral, the bus would remain in the parking spot till 3:30PM when it would depart said location to pick up those of us who had gone to St. Canice's. Imagine our thoughts when we arrived back at the exact spot at 3:10 and our bus wasn't there! It was very scary as we knew that we were a great distance from the port, and if we weren't back by "on board time" the ship would sail without us! This was the worst situation that I have ever experienced ! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BOOK A TRIP WITH IRISH DAY TOURS! You do not need the aggravation that this company can cause!
- louiepreacher00A Sad Excuse Of a Tour ExcursionIf I could have rated a 0 I would have instead of 1. This was a tour from Dunsmore East where our cruise ship docked and werl we tendered. The bus arrived well past an hour late with NO explanation. We also had no guide. The whole excursion was a "comedy of errors" from beginning to end. We were on 8 different excursions during our cruise and this was the only one that seemed "like an after thought" with no preparation for those who were on this excursion. I am an experienced world traveler and have never experienced such a poor excursion in all my travels. Beware of this tour operator.
- ebdenn00Simply an amazing guide and a memorable tourA more offbeat tour with an amazing guide. Our guide, Jonathon, picked us up on time and off we went. He was incredibly good as a guide both in and out of Dublin. He talked about the history of Ireland, and Dublin in particular, mixed with a wee bit of politics (not in a bad way at all) on the way out of the city. We got more history from him as we travelled to the Hill of Tara. He took us up the hill and then was so informative about the site. We went on to the Neolithic burial sites at Loughcrew. It is a steep climb up so make sure you’ve got sturdy boots and good lungs. The views were unbelievable and our guide gave us more background on what we were seeing. Off to Trim Castle and a entertaining lecture on medieval armor and weapons, followed by a great lunch and then a final stop at Fore Abbey. More history and stories and some traditional Irish singing from Jonathan saw us home. Even as we pulled into the city, Jonathan continued to provide guidance about places to see, restaurants and pubs to visit. Simply a great tour and a truly outstanding guide. Highly recommend!
- LUCKYME7200This Tour was a MessThis tour to Kilkinney (Castle and St Canices) from Dunmore East was a complete mess and I would not recommend using this tour operator (Irish Day Tours) for a tour from Dunmore East from a cruise ship. We had a group of 52 people and originally we had 2 small coaches for 26 people each arranged but it was changed to 1 large coach bus in January 2023, and a number of itinerary changes to make this work. The execution of the tour was very bad. The bus driver was almost an hour late. Because we tendered we had to stand waiting for an hour. The tour operator later explained that they didn’t have a driver /guide available on the day of our tour, so their transport team booked a separate guide for the tour. However, apparently the guide was sick and didn’t tell the bus driver until after he had left and he waited for some time in Dublin. We were so late into Kilkenny that there was not time for a proper restroom/comfort break. We made something work for most people but it was stressful as we were holding up the tour of the Castle which was arranged for a specific time. The bus driver was very nice and tried his best but he was ill equipped for our tour. He gave no explanation for being late or reason that we would not have a guided bus ride. He had no printed vouchers which caused confusion at the Castle. He was able to get the Cathedral one printed so we could use it. He did not talk at all during the drive or when we got to Kilkenny. This is the first time we have ever had a tour with no narrative or explanations provided, and people were very disappointed. It also created confusion at Kilkenny. We were given no maps and the only information people had was the brief tour description the tour operator provided. The tour operator later explained that we were not given maps because “nowadays most people would use their phones to navigate, so it never crossed my mind that you would need any maps.” Well, this is an older group and they don’t use maps on their cell phones and every tour we have been on with so much free time in a city either has a guide to take us around and explain or maps. The tour operator recommended that people walk to St Canices for our arranged visit there at 3pm (we thought it was a guided tour but it was only an entry fee). My understanding is that it was a 10 minute walk and very close. It was 1 kilometer and took from 20-30 minutes depending on the walking ability of some people. Due to the lack of a map, some people went to St Mary's instead and missed out on St Canices. In retrospect it should have been arranged for everyone to be driven to St. Canices and left from there. Instead we called the driver and arranged a pickup there and went back to the original bus stop for 13 people who could not make it. They were very unhappy since they paid for admission and did not get the opportunity to see it. The bus was warm (air conditioning didn't seem to work) on the 1 hour 20 min ride back. That just added more frustration to a group that was already not happy. The above was communicated to the tour operator and we received the explanations provided in my review and an apology (“I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and misunderstanding (about maps being provided)!”). We had 18 private tours arranged for our 2 cruises and this was the only one that was done poorly. After the tour, everyone said it was the most poorly communicated and executed tour, and it was a “mess”. As the tour organizer, it was especially frustrating because I called the tour operator when the bus was late but received no phone call back to get an explanation for the late arrival of the bus and no guided tour. It took a few weeks to find out what happened after I sent an email detailing the problems the day of the tour. I should have been contacted immediately to explain the situation so we could make the necessary adjustments in our plans for the day. Instead it was a very confusing, and chaotic day ending in a very hot and uncomfortable bus ride back to Dunmore East.
- Hu Y00很值得一去The trip is very great! The guide and driver both are very good! It is very worthy.旅程很棒,莫赫悬崖很美。导游和司机都很友好。导游会在车上对景点和爱尔兰的历史进行讲解,坐船看莫赫悬崖也很有意思。

Obviously it’s a long day, you’re spending 8.5-9 hours on a bus going across the country. That part isn’t what we had an issue with. First was our tour guide who spent 2 hours giving us the history of Ireland. I’m not sure if this was part of the tour structure or just how she chose to fill the time, but everyone on the bus was visibly annoyed by the lecture. I wish she would’ve just given us information about where we were in Ireland, with little historical stories rather than the full history. She also played some very bizarre music that she was singing along to, but no one else seemed interested. Also wish we would’ve had our choice of lunch in Doolin, my boyfriend has severe allergies and wasn’t able to eat at the restaurant chosen for us. We also only got 10 minutes at the Burren to take photos, when we would’ve loved at least 20-30 minutes to explore. Finally, we were given no information on Galway or what to do there. She just dropped us off and said we had an hour to explore, directing everyone to the shop street area. At this point we just wandered aimlessly and most people were back on the bus 20 minutes before departure because there was nothing for us to do there. This tour seriously needs to be restructured in order for everyone to enjoy the day. The cliffs and the Burren were gorgeous but the other 12 hours feel wasted sitting on a bus or wandering around confused.

Hi meganrF2426WF,
Thank you for your message.
Our drivers will always inform our guests of the history of Ireland. Most guests have never been to Ireland and have a keen interest in the story of the country.
I will send your feedback to our Transport Manager.
Thank you,

I had a reservation on March 16th the day after the city of Dublin shut down and EVERYTHING was closed. We had to leave early because of Covid( the city shut down so nothing to do or eat besides our hotel restaurant). We tried getting in contact with Irish Day Tours to see if our tour was still continuing because we figured maybe we could do that before we slip out of the country but no one was answering calls, emails, Facebook messages and even comments. We tried to cancel but couldn’t because we and our hotel could not reach them.
I was emailing the company in the beginning of April when we were back and settled to get this straightened out but they wouldn’t issue a refund because apparently the tour still continued even though the city shut down and there was no notice sent to us that it would continue the next day. We left Ireland that morning and the city of Dublin shut down less than 24 hours from our scheduled tour time so Flaure said no refund would be authorized which is ridiculous given the circumstances of the city and world at that time.
It’s very upsetting because I’ve been trying to get in contact with someone from the company named Jonathan who Flaure said would maybe be able to hear us out and help but he has never replied to my email. (6 months later)
Highly do not recommend. Terrible customer service and just a money hungry company that at the end of the day apparently only cares about money and not their customers.

A good tour that lasted all day and took in the Burren, a sheep-dog demonstration, a boat trip at the Cliffs, Doolin and the Cliffs themselves, as well as a couple of other stops. Our driver-guide had a great deal to say. The only annoying thing about the tour was that we were all shepherded into an overpriced restaurant in Doolin for lunch. It would have been far better to have skipped Doolin and had more time at the Cliffs themselves. That way, those of us who'd brought a packed lunch could have eaten it, and those who hadn't could have eaten in the Visitor's Centre. As it was, we only had 45 minutes at the Cliffs because of that unnecessary Doolin lunch.

Wife and I were on honeymoon this past December and it had always been her dream to see the Cliffs of Moher. We booked this day trip and our guide Rob was phenomenal. Rob entertained us with with stories and songs of Irish lore and was very knowledgeable about different points in our journey. When we got to the cliffs he pointed us in the direction of the best view and boy was it spectacular! We definitely had a great time and Rob was a great part of it. We are looking forward to going back and doing it all over again!

Eoin (sorry if I misspelled) Was an absolute great tour guide that kept my wife and I entertain for the duration of the war. We had a great day visiting the cliffs, the weather cooperated and it was very clear. Eoin had tremendous knowledge that was matched with perfect Irish charm that helped the bus ride go by much quicker then it felt.
I would advise travelers to note that this is a long day, though worth it, just note that it is long. The stop after in Galway was nice, but it is too short lived. To only have an hour in one of Ireland‘s great historical cities is a tease, but still a very good stop.

I took this tour on Oct 22 from Dublin at 6:50.
In simple words it was amazing.
The bus departs from Dublin towards the cliffs with a stop in between for breakfast. Once you get to the cliffs you will have around 1:30 to spend there. After the great views it’s time for lunch on a very nice pub in a little town. Then before Dublin there is another stop on the great burren (rock mountain). We arrived at Dublin around 8pm on Friday a bit of a traffic jam in order to get to the city center around that time.
Our guide Bud, besides being very knowledgeable about Irish costumes and history he was also very friendly. Rest assured you will have a good time with this lovely Irish guy.
Best from Brazil!

A really long day but worth it. Bud told stories, and sang songs, and made us laugh out loud. Am exceptions tour guide and storyteller. Super kind and respectful. We got lucky no rain at the cliffs. We made a a couple other pit stops. My only issue was I didn’t want to stop at a dedicated lunch spot where you were forced to eat just there when they only had 5 things on their menu for $14 lunch. This was a waste. I would have preferred to just wait until Galway to eat or have more time. The lunch spot killed 45-60 minutes. Galway was nice but not enough time to do anything. It all felt so rushed. Got back around 8pm. It’s a 14 hr day

I booked a tour for me and my friend who was only visiting for a short time to go to see the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. On our ticket it said to be at the Molly Malone Statue 10 minutes before th3 departure time which was 6:50. My friend and I and two other passengers arrived at the statue for 6:45 which is still 5 minutes before the listed departure time but the bus had already left. They left early and left us all behind.
When I tried contacting the company by phone, I was no longer able to connect with anyone and then when I emailed the company in search of a refund, which I should have been entitled to as the bus left early, they refused to give me a refund, did not acknowledge the fault in what they did and got my name wrong twice in the exchanges they had with me. There is a complete and total lack of respect that was displayed by this company and I would highly recommend going somewhere else. Wild Rovers is an excellent option who we ended up getting a tour with instead and they were excellent, kind, informative and welcoming. I would look into them first.

I was in the process of booking the Cliffs of Moher tour and was shocked to be met with aggressive antisemitism from Irish Day Tours staff. I brought my concerns to the attention of the owner and learned where this attitude came from. Instead of rectifying a horrifying situation the owner chose to mock me and dismiss my concerns. Stay away from these clowns. There are so many tour operators in Dublin that welcome all races, religions, and nationalities. There’s no need to support racism with your hard earned money!

I am considering booking the Cliffs of Moher Day Trip from Dublin by Irish Day Tours, and would like to know how demanding it is from a physical point of view. Does it involve substantial climbs?
Also, any chance of being picked up from my hotel?
Best wishes,

Hi, I made this tour month ago and level of physical involvement was absolutely up to my decision. We had two hours for yourself at cliffs and everybody could choose his / her pace of exploring cliffs, Some people did cliff walking trail others stayed at view spot. Same in Galway, you can chill in the closest cafe or walk across the city. There was a familly with kids and stroller and they enjoyed whole day without any problems I guess. Pick up is question for tour operator, they were very kind and responsive to me.
