You Want Andrew as Your Guide!
After a crazy time taking the train from Cork (where we were staying) to Cobh to meet up with the group, just so we could take the train back to Cork to begin our tour, we actually had a great time. I cannot say enough about Andrew, our guide. He was the nicest guy ever, and he made sure that after our rough start, we had a wonderful tour day. He was very knowledgeable, informative, and was so kind and helpful. I learned really interesting information about Cork that I would not have known without the tour. The Blarney Castle was so much fun, and the grounds are beautiful. I really wish we had had more time there, but we were on a timeline to get most people back to their cruise ship. At the end, Cobh was awesome, and we decided to stay a while because it was beautiful.

Superb organization, first class accommodations, knowledgeable guides who were friendly and helpful.
This was our first organized tour and it exceeded our expectations. The logistics were well organized but it was the people that made the experience special. Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful guides made the tour memorable.

I’m from Dublin and wanted to visit the Giants Causeway but didn’t want to drive. I found Railtours Ireland online and they fitted the bill for what I was looking for. I apprehensively booked on the day tour up North and yes I am glad I did! It was a super fun trip in no small part due to the engaging host who is a great representative for Irish Tourism. I have tons of photos and could write a paper on the Giants Causeway I now have so much knowledge. Thanks to Railtours Ireland, my fellow travel companions the bus driver Richard and Mr John Todd for such a great day out it was worth every penny.

      Amazing Giant’s Causway
We had an amazing day with our guide, John Todd. Train ride was excellent. The weather cooperated, and even though we had a little rain, it cleared up by the time we got to the Causway. We got a bonus stop at Bushmill, too! Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone with time in Dublin!

Excellent Tour by Train & Bus
As we had never been to Ireland, this tour from our ship docked in Cobh fit our needs very well. We had a private railcar just for our group, which quickly took us from Cobh to Cork, where we transferred to a large bus. We then proceeded to Blarney Castle, where we spent several hours walking the gardens. The castle itself is empty and the line to kiss the stone was 90 minutes. After souvenir shopping and a quick lunch at Woolen Mills, we were off through Cork to our final stop at St. Colman's Cathedral. Andrew, our guide, did an outstanding job with his driver optimizing our experience. Andrew was not only very knowledgeable and personable but very cognizant of the time, as our ship was leaving in the afternoon. We will definitely use Railtours again when visiting Ireland.

The only way to get around Ireland with excellent guides and carefree travel.
We use Railtours Ireland whenever we're in Ireland, and this time was no exception. They scheduled us from London to Wales then on the ferry over to Dublin. We also did a day trip to Cork and then up to Belfast. They took care of our hotels, rail travel and had a guide for each trip. They make getting around Ireland so easy, pain free and educational. We've also recommended them to friends and each has come back bragging about how wonderful their trips were.

Loved the Royal Atlantic 5 Day Tour!
We were pleasantly surprised by this company and this experience! The itineraries were well planned out and the trip allowed us to see all the highlights of the areas we were in. To be clear, you do not always have the amount of time you’d like at a place, and sometimes it feels rushed, especially if the attraction is crowded, but it allows you to see and experience way more than you would on your own. And they take all the driving off your plate, which is great considering how challenging driving looks to be in the Irish countryside! LOL Special thanks to all our Tour Guides and drivers…Brendan and John Joe, Anthony, Sean, John, and Stephen. They were all wonderful and took such good care of us from start to finish! This was an amazing, no hassle Ireland experience!

      John Todd is the best!
We took the day tour hosted by John Todd and you won't find a more knowledgeable and helpful guide. The stops allowed enough time to visit each site adequately and logistics were seen to in every respect. During the bus rides John gave us in depth lectures on the local history in an easily understood delivery. Victor the bus driver was very good and got us to all points on-time. A top shelf tour all round!

Bunratty Castle and Cliff of Mother's tour
A wonderful day trip on Railtours Ireland. comforted our anxiety of where to go and what to do throughout the whole trip. His historical knowledge was my favorite. Absolutely loved all the information he provided about Ireland. I wish we had time to go on another tour with John Todd. Victor our bus driver was wonderful also. A great day in Ireland . 5 stars for John Todd.

Amazing tour guide John, Disappointing interaction with company
This was the second tour that I took this past week with rail tour Ireland. The first tour was to cliffs of moher and gallaway. There were no issues and tour was amazing. This review is about our second tour to blarney castle cork and Cobh. Our guide John was one of the best guides I have experienced around the world. He had so much knowledge that he shared about Ireland and where he was going. During the train ride he came around and explained where we were and what to see. The whole time on train he explained how we need to hurry when we get off train to get to bus because we want to get to blarney castle before it gets crowded. The other issue was there was a group of 8 people in our tour that did not want to goto the castle and though we were spending day in cork. When we arrived to Cork the bus was almost 30 minutes late (turned out the bus was picking up people from cork before coming for us). This caused us to arrive to the castle late and there was a 1.5 hour wait to see Blarney Stone. This shortened and ruined our visit. I complained to Viator about this. (Evidently they submitted a complaint and refund request). A female from the office contacted the tour guide and spoke to me during tour. She was rude and had all sorts of excuses. Her behavior ruined the experience. The rest of the tour was great. John our tour guide went above and beyond. I think rail tour Ireland should have atleast taken ownership of issue and apologized.

cliff of Moher, Bunratty castle, and Galway tour
My family and I did the cliff of Moher, Bunratty castle, and Galway tour. Our tour guide John Todd and driver Victor were absolutely wonderful. John was so knowledgeable and provided so much interesting information about the areas we traveled through and also the culture and history of Ireland in general. Every site on this tour exceeded expectations. It was a great way to see the seaside and historical aspects of these areas. The instructions and itinerary were easy to follow and accurate. Would highly recommend!

Cliffs of moher with rail tours Ireland
David was our tour guide. Great trip. He was very knowledgeable about the area we visited and informative about Ireland. It was a long day but that was expected. We had the right amount at time at the cliffs and Gallaway.

I took 3 rail tours - the Ring of Kerry, day tour for Cliffs of Moher, and meet the cruise dayCobh/Cork/Blarney Castle tour. All were wonderful, from start to finish! Such great personal service! Andrew met my train on the way to Killarney. Along the train ride, I learned a lot about Ireland! He gave me a tour of Killarney, gave me maps of the area, and walked me to my hotel - so helpful! Brian let the Ring of Kerry tour - a great guide, offering a lot of information! Joe took our group on the train ride back to Dublin and personally walked me back to my hotel. So nice of him! David let the Cliffs of Moher tour - again, so knowledgeable and a great guide. I met Andrew again on the Cohb/Cork tour. I was delighted to have him as the guide because he is very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful tour. One of the best tour companies I have ever experienced!
