The bus ride was comfortable and the bus made stops within an acceptable time of their estimate to be at various places. The main problem is they use a recorded audio method to present their tour information, and you just couldn’t hear it very well. Lots of street noise and just the noise of the buses made it nearly impossible to hear the content. We sat on the top and the bottom and it didn’t make a difference. I recommend a different tour that has a live person announcing the content, as we heard that is a better method from others we talk to.

The bus visits all the main spots in Dublin so ticks the basic boxes for what you want on a hop-on hop-off tour service.
However, the run times of these buses seems all over the place. After a visit to Dublin Zoo, we were stranded waiting for a bus for over an hour. We were told buses run up to every 45 minutes at the latest. We also walked some earlier stops, still no bus seen. Needs to have some sort of timetable for passengers, website was useless and had no details.
Side note, after this long time waiting in the cold and seeing a few Big Bus Dublin ones pass as it shared the same stop, we asked them if they knew about City Sightseeing schedule. After advising our situation, the driver very generously let us on with no charge

How do I begin to talk about Gerry? Well, perhaps I should start by saying that Gerry wouldn’t wonder how to begin because he has already been talking the entire time. To be fair, the lad warned us many times: I’ll talk yer ear off!” “You’ll be sick of me before the day is out!” “For those of you who just joined us, I’m Gerry and I talk..a LOT.” These declarations are generally followed with a brief tirade about how is wife is sick of his yammering and he has no choice but to take it out on us…and we are more than happy to let him.
As a local Dubliner himself, Gerry has extensive knowledge of the area and points out niche sights with sarcastic wit and delightful banter. He has got a pet name or pun for nearly every landmark in the area and if he doesn’t he isn’t afraid to give helpful child rearing advice. One such gem is scaring your child with a stuffed gorilla in the “Dead Zoo.” Gerry also has opinions on Guiness’ TWENTY-ONE kids, but I don’t want to spoil anything. I’m sure I have learned more about taking care of children in that hour and a half tour than in my four years as a school teacher.
Gerry truly adds an immense amount of personality to an already fascinating town. On top of being informative, he also sings, recites poetry and does a terrible impersonation of Tom Cruise’s terrible impersonation of an Irish accent that is so bad it’s good? It comes all the way round and will have you on the floor of the bus. Gerry clearly loves Dublin and he has made me fall in love with it too! He truly spoiled us for the rest of the Hop-On/Hop-Off tours. None other will compare!
(Special thanks to Eddie and Maggie in the ticket office. Thank you for your help with the tickets!)

My wife and I booked this tour based on great trip advisor reviews but were very disappointed. We show up to redeem our ticket and find out that they were down drivers so the bus only came around every 45 minutes at each stop, and the entire loop takes 2 hours. They also had no schedule or tracking app so it’s just a guess when the bus will show up at each stop. We see the Book of Kells close by then hop on the bus to go to Guinness (6 stops away). What little audio commentary we heard was good. We get off at Guinness and ask when bus stops running and we’re told 7. It’s 4:30 when we finish Guinness and then proceed to wait 45 minutes in the cold and rain for a bus that never comes (meanwhile we see 3 green Dublin Go buses, and they say come around every 20-30 minutes and cover more stops). After checking the website, we find out this bus stopped running at 4 (although another website said 5 and the driver said 7) and proceed to walk back to our hotel. They tell you the bus ticket is good for 24 hours but don’t tell you the bus only runs 6 hours out of the day (10-4). We couldn’t come back the next day to try again because we had another tour booked (Wild Rover tour of Northern Ireland which was excellent, highly recommend). My wife and I had done other hop on hop off tours before but this was the worst. This would only be useful if you get on and spend 2 hours to do the entire loop and then get off. It is not practical to take it to multiple sights like we tried to do. I recommend the Dublin Go green buses instead which were approximately the same price but much more frequent and reliable.

This is a rip off. The site says that they run every 45-60 minutes but we waited for more than an hour and ended up taking "bigbus tours" (slightly more expensive) but they run every 20 minutes.
Although we didn't use the tickets, "City Sightseeing" did not provide any refund on the tickets.
DON'T USE THEM, spend 10 euros extra with one of the other 2 companies instead!

There are at least three hop on-hop off bus tour options in Dublin. We went with this one based on the recommendation of a local and because it was slightly less expensive than another option. In retrospect, that wasn’t the best decision.
Among the negatives:
1. We had to print “tickets” to be scanned and exchanged for receipt “passes” on a bus or at the main office. We were able to have our hotel print the ticket, but this shouldn’t be a thing in the day of mobile e-everything.
2. The bus driver couldn’t get his scanner to work to issue our passes. We had to visit the main office with our printed proof of purchase to get our passes. On the bright side, the driver let us ride the bus to the main office, and the main office was helpful.
3. On some of the buses, it was impossible to hear the tour audio and many of the headphone jacks for other languages were not functional. On other buses, the audio and headphone jacks were fine.
4. The buses only came around (maybe) every 30 minutes. At one stop, we saw three buses from a competitor (Big Bus) come and go before our bus arrived. It was difficult to make quick progress from one part of the city to another.
5. The prominently placed brochures advertised times and starting location for a free 90-minute city walking tour. When we arranged our day to participate in this walking tour and arrived at the starting point well ahead of time, we were informed that the times and starting location had changed, and the brochure had not been updated. This was disappointing.
On the positive side, all of the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful, the stops were conveniently located, and the tour audio was interesting when we could hear it.
One of the competitors (Big Bus) offered an app that claims to allow tracking bus locations, and we saw them far more often. If we had it to do over, we would have used Big Bus even though it was a little more expensive. City Sightseeing has some potential, but they need to update their business model a bit to offer a high quality service.

Used this service (Red Bus) by chance as it was the first bus to show up. It was expensive to buy on the bus at 28 euro per person for one day till 4pm. We only managed ONE hop off and on as the waiting for the bus at the stop was well over an hour and there were too many things to see. We did stay on and complete the circuit to look from the bus which was nice but not worth the money. The commentary on the tour was informative but often out of sync with where you were at and you had often passed the site it was asking you to look at. Definitely pick up a map as you get on the bus to keep track of what you are looking out for because of this. While waiting at stops for our bus to turn up we saw the The Big Bus company (Burgendy Bus) turn up the most multiple times in our waiting time. It stopped at least 3 times while we were waiting and then the Green Bus turned up at least 2 times.

Ultimately the tour itself was good. But after waiting 50 minutes for the bus beside the Liffey near the Arlington Hotel, the bus driver failed to stop. We walked to the tour operators office where a lady called Deirdre was extremely understanding and helpful. A QR scanner failure meant we had to go the College Green office where we were issued tickets and then had to wait a further 20 minutes for the bus. 2 hours of our sole day in Dublin wasted.

Not worth rating.
We were told at stop #1 there would be a bus every 45 minutes. We got off at Guinness storehouse at 9:30am and were back out at 12:15 for the 12:30 bus only to wait until 1:15 when one finally showed up. In that time there were at least 6 DoDublin (green bus) busses that stopped while we waited. The driver told us traffic was heavy downtown. Commentary is a recording, hard to hear and minimal. Having done the Green bus in the past I know there are many more interesting tidbits of information about many of the sites that were not mentioned - like Georgian architecture and the famous lion at the zoo. Our bus didn’t even slow down for a drive-by photo op of the famous St. James gates or mention the residence on the Guinness family or the church used by Guinness employees. And that’s just one stop on the tour. Now we have another 24 hours to use up. Not how I like to spend my holiday time in Dublin …. Go Green!!

We booked our ticket online and waited for 45 minutes at the busstop on Morehampton Road and no bus arrived. We tried phoning the number on the sign which was an automated service and we could not speak to an actual human. I messaged the company online through Instagram to find out if the stop was still on the route and four days later I still have no response. We walked to Stephens Green and joined the ever increasing queue of people also waiting for the next bus. I got chatting to the bus driver of a competitor who offered us the trip at two thirds of the price that we had paid and advised that they have buses running all day. When this bus did arrive it was packed and we all wouldn't have fit on it anyway. Thankfully we managed to cancel our ticket and we went with The Big Bus tour company instead and despite the disaster with this company, we really enjoyed the experience.
Firstly, I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Secondly a note to the service provider, if your stops are not in service than remove the signs.
Thirdly, respond to your customers as without them you don't have a business.
Fourthly, if I could give this a zero star rating I would have. The only reason it got 1 star was because I couldn't submit it without one.

They provide you maps when you get there. They have maps online however they were a little confusing to me but the ones they give you at your first stop are better. The ones online at least give you a good idea of the stops along the route.

We purchased our tickets for one day on the same day we used them, so I suggest you wait until you get to Dublin, go to the ticket booth on O’Connell Street and inquire about the days of operation...although I believe it’s Monday through Sunday. We had no problems getting our tickets on the spot.

My wife and I are are both senior citizens in our 70's, and we have had no trouble with hop on hop off in Dublin. We have been there five times, and have enjoyed hop on and hop off both this year and last.
It is quite inexpensive - about 27 euros as I recall. Main stop is on O'Connell Street, but you can buy tickets at any stop.
