A Modern and Immersive Experience at the Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Storehouse is a must-visit for anyone in Dublin! It’s not just a museum, but an incredibly modern and experimental experience that goes beyond your typical brewery tour. The interactive displays and state-of-the-art technology really bring the history of Guinness to life in a fun and engaging way. From learning about the brewing process to discovering the brand’s global impact, every floor offers something unique. The highlight for me was the Gravity Bar at the top, where you can enjoy a perfectly poured pint of Guinness with breathtaking panoramic views of Dublin. If you’re a fan of Guinness or just curious about Ireland’s iconic stout, this place offers an exciting, immersive journey through its world-famous history. Definitely worth the visit! This captures the modern, experimental vibe you mentioned while focusing on the interactive and memorable nature of the experience.

Not worth the time and money unless you're a huge Guinness fan or you've never been to a brewery or distillery
I'll start by saying I'm not a beer drinker. My husband and I went to the Guinness Storehouse because it's so highly rated and ranked. The displays are excellent. Very creative and dramatic. And the museum does a good job of getting large numbers of people through without feeling crowded. That said, if you've ever toured a brewery or distillery before, as we have in Oban, there's a limit to how much new information one can pick up. Perhaps the most interesting part of the exhibit was the video of barrel making. The advertising exhibit was interesting but not nostalgic for me because Guinness wasn't (isn't?) a big advertiser in Canada. (If they were/are, they are definitely overshadowed by North American brands and a handful of other international brands.) The Gravity Bar wasn't crowded at 11-ish on a Saturday. There were nice views with numbers associated for an audio tour, but no information on how to connect to the audio guide, and there's no app for the Storehouse.

      Only advertising
The visit is absolutely not worth the cost. Guiness is smart, it makes you pay for its advertising. It’a crowded and uninteresting. Instead, go grab a beer in a pub.

It Was A Good Day For A Pint Of Guinness, Trust Me, I Was My Own Witness
The approach to this place was astounding. I was definitely ready to head inside after I enjoyed the view. My significant other and I stepped inside. We followed the sign that said Purchase Tickets. Walkup Prices for Adult (+18) was €30. That was a bit steep, so I was hoping for a good experience. Attached to my ticket was a Drink Voucher. I was excited to try it. After that, we stopped at the Information counter. We were able to drop off our luggage here, so that was convenient. We were given a card that said Luggage Tag 3. This was a free service and I felt comfortable with it. We waited in line for a bit to be let in. It was fast. We went up an escalator and landed near an employee that told us a bit about Guinness. After that, we started our experience underneath where it said The Journey Begins Here. It was self-guided, so that was nice. I was able to take my time and read a lot about Guinness. We stopped at Cooperage Cafe to see what they had to offer. From the Hot Drinks section, I ordered a Reg Americano for 3.70. I also got a Scone (B) for €4.70. It was ready fast. We found a table to sit down at there. The Americano was pretty good and even better with Brown Sugar added to it. The Scone was crumbly, yet enjoyable. I’m glad I stopped there. My favorite part of Guinness Storehouse was The Tasting Rooms. We waited in a line for it. Luckily, it went by fast. We were led into a room that allowed us to go around and smell different areas. We were given a sample of Guinness to take into the next room. In the next room, we were told some history and then guided on how to taste Guinness. It was an interesting process. I enjoyed my sample. In the Cinema Room, we sat down and watched interesting videos. It was a great way to settle down for a bit. Gravity Bar was laid out nicely and covered a lot of ground. Unfortunately, it was packed there. I claimed my Drink Voucher there for a pint of Guinness. It sure hit the spot. I took it down fairly fast. The views from up there were spectacular. It was almost impossible to not stop at The Store. It was large and had a variety of items. I ended up looking at the Keyrings section and purchased one of the Guinness Keyrings for €7. Besides that, I purchased a Black Gold Brewed In Dublin T for €18. I was pleased with both of the items. We stopped at the Left Luggage counter to retrieve our belongings. I gave the Luggage Tag 3 card we were given at the Information counter and we were given our belongings back. It was simple. The service I received throughout my visit was hospitable. I didn’t have any issues. Overall, I had a great experience here. It was a bit pricey, but still worth it. With so many floors to explore, I’m glad I got to experience all of them. I would love to come back someday. Date of visit: 12/09/2024

      One not to miss
My first trip to Dublin and the Guinness name is synonymous with this city, so a trip to the Storehouse was required. Jumped off as part of the DoDublin hop on hop off tour having prebought the tickets online. Early afternoon, on a Sunday. Found the whole experience well thought out and engaging, spread as it was over several floors of the old plant. Fascinating facts, followed moving displays kept our interest, detailing the history of the eponymous drink. Culminating with a free pint at the top floor bar, with stunning views of the city.

Great Experience a must do in Dublin.
Guinness Storehouse has been on my must visit list when in Dublin and it didn't disappoint. There is plenty to do and loads to learn about Irelands number one export. The building is very impressive and very well planed to take you on a journey about the Guinness history. There are two bars also within the building to taste the Guinness brands but by far the best is the Gravity bar with the panoramic views of Dublin, lucky for us it was a very clear and sunny day for us to enjoy a Guinness or two. We purchased our entry tickets (pint included) online before arriving as it can be busy especially at the weekends. There is also loads of Guinness merchandise to purchase so bring plenty of Euros for all those gifts. Next time I'm in Dublin I will be visiting the storehouse again.

      Great self guided tour!!!!
I wasn't sure what to expect, especially since back home in Canada, I don't like Guinness. Let me tell you, the Guinness you taste in the Storehouse, is so smooth, refreshing and tasty. I honestly don't think I can drink Guinness anywhere else other than Ireland. The tour is self guided. You can pay extra to learn how to pour a Guinness pint and you can pay extra to have your picture placed on a pint of Guinness too. We didn't do that, but we did pay for a glass of Guinness as part of our self guided tour. It takes you about 2 hours to go through the tour. It's very educational. They do have a lounge at the top of the building that allows you to look out at Dublin. Good luck getting a table or a spot to sit. You'll have to go down to the floor below where there is more seating. You have to book a time to visit. They are pretty good at allowing you in 30 mins before your scheduled time and 30 mins after. Beyond that time, you'll have to rebook. You can get to the Storehouse via taxi, Uber, hop on hop off bus. There are horse drawn carriages that are driven by the gypsy. Don't take them. We witnessed the drivers intoxicated and they are not kind to their horses either..

      Embarrassing
I'm 51. I've drank Guinness all my Adult life. I brought a girl from Austria, was sorely disappointed. We could have googled all the information. I even know cans should be in fridge 48 hours before drinking The optiocs n view were what me score a 4 out of 10. Even the pint at the end wasn't Right??? Dearest pint I ever bought. (Ticket) I asked my 20yrs Austria friend what she though. She said its a tourist attraction, bit wouldn't recommend it to a friend. £26 for a student n pay their way there. Very disappointed Irish Man. Kind Regards Philip.

A drop of the black stuff
Enjoyed this visit so much, from start to finish it was value for the admission money. The design of the building, the Guinness story, the history and the culture was exciting, informative and insightful. Fascinating and fun to see a picture of yourself on a pint of the black stuff A must for everyone !

      Good experience.
Really enjoyed the walkthrough - self guided tour and spent over three hours in here. You queue up outside in your time slot the go in and it does take a bit of time but not crushed or chaotic. Layout inside was good. Very hard to get a seat in the gravity bar & this was a shame- would have stayed longer. We had a cruffin & cinnamon whirl part way found and cafe was reasonably priced & pastries were lovely. Slightly disappointed that the advertising section didn’t have a reel of all the adverts playing and even on the self selected screens there were only a few to watch. Also took over 10 minutes waiting for a lift down from floor 5 but it was impossible so we took the stairs instead. Didn’t have the audio guide as missed where you got these from but enjoyed the displays & audio/ info so wonder if the audio guides are for different languages. We did really enjoy the storehouse and it’s been the best part of our trip. A map of the inside would also have been useful.

      Fantastic experience
Absolutely fantastic customer service. We arrived and my mother was in some pain from walking. They ushered us straight in ( an hour before our allotted time) , offered us seating and found a wheelchair for my mother so she could still enjoy the experience. This was made all the better by the member of staff , Katie , who was on the door! Bravo Guinness

Good tour but lots of people
The basic Guinness Storehouse experience is sufficient in my opinion. I did not see the value in the added premium experiences (pouring, selfie pour, etc). The interactive approach to the tour is amazing. The only drawback is that there are sooo many people funneled through the experience and the visit to the Gravity Bar was like being an a food court during peak dining.

      Poor Brewery Tour
Total tourist trap. Each booking time has dozens of people on it. It's a self guided tour and you feel herded like cattle through some parts. Did have some interesting exhibits, but a bare bones tour. Great views from the top floor where you can get a free pint with your tour ticket. Our brewery tour in Kilenny was way better. Skip the tour and just go to a good pub for a pint of Guinness.

      Guinness Storehouse
My husband and I toured the Guinness Storehouse when we traveled to Ireland in October. We paid 50 euros each which bought us a walk-through in the storehouse and a complimentary beverage at the bar. It also gained us access to the top floor bar which has a beautiful view of Dublin. The view at the top was stunning. The walk-through was not as interesting if I'm being honest. I will say, however, the free drink I had was delicious. They have certain beers which you cannot buy anywhere but a few exclusive places. The beer I enjoyed had notes of caramel and chocolate and tasted like dessert!

Guinness the one and only experience
Guinness storehouse and exhibition is probably the best must-visit recreational venue in Dublin. 100% worth it. Despite the crowd, everything were very organized, brand new, high-tec and easy to walk through. 7 floors of fulfilling impressions. Great facilities and acxessibility luxury WC, glass elevator and automatic stairs. Guinness shop fantastic but prices petty high. We enjoyed it greatly. Bravo to all of you who maintain and present such a venue.

We had friends from Phoenix over during the summer and being American, they had the typical obsession with dublin and seeing the Guinness store house.
Having heard lots about how “amazing” it was, we decided we would take them there to experience it first hand for both them, and ourselves.
    Experience it we did....
From a queue line that lasted over 30 mins, to over crowded, insanely hot rooms& loud noises, the whole experience was a massive failure.
You’re lead alone through a sprawling line of people ahead of you that either simply don’t move out of your way, or walk straight into you like you don’t exist, across multiple floors & inclines to where you finally meet a “guide” that takes you to your first taste test where you’re given a small glass of the black stuff to try, this segment of the tour you’re meant to somehow become and instant expert in Guinness and discover all of these apparent notes and differences within a 2 minute period before being swiftly moved on to the next area which again is an over crowded mess!
You think you’ve so much more to see considering the sheer mass of real estate the store house is situated upon but no, your tour is over and you can go to the gravity bar for what is most definitely the WORST pint of Guinness I’ve ever had in my life!
The only part about the tour that leaves you feeling like your head is spinning is the price you paid to experience what is the most painfully obvious cash grab Dublin City has to offer to unsuspecting tourists!

Thanks Darren, for taking the time to post this feedback. I am sorry to hear that your visit to the Guinness Storehouse was impacted due to the large numbers visiting and the heat in the building. We do have measures in place to manage our capacity, so it is disappointing to read of your discomfort in the taste experience. Customer feedback is very important to us, and we do take it all on board. Thank you, from the Guinness Storehouse Deirdre

What a place , go in and stand inside the biggest beer glass that can hold 14.3 million pints enough for any one to handle .
The history of Guinness is here for you to discover from Arthur himself and his wife to the coppers and their art not to mention the brewing of the ruby red stuff.
Go to the academy and learn how to pour your own pint or have your face printed on the head of your Guinness when enjoy drinking it in the gravity bar with 360 degree views of the city..
This is the must of anyone's visit to Dublin.

We spent a Friday afternoon in the Guinness Storehouse, which was very busy with tourists from all over the world.

The experience is very much self-guided, and you can amble about the different floors, taking your time to read up on the history, or engage with the interactive elements.

We took our time and spent about 2.5 hours altogether, which included our free pint in the Gravity bar and an extra "Stoutie" (a staff manager takes your picture and prints it on a pint!).

I think if you are a fan of Guinness then it is definitely worth a trip here. If you are not a fan of Guinness, then I can see why you may be perplexed by the lack of a guided tour element.

Every staff member we interacted with was so pleasant and helpful, the extra star in this review goes to how well they train their staff!!

I can see myself revisiting it again a few years down the line, or if I have friends/family visiting Ireland!

I would highly recommend getting the skip the line tickets! The day we arrived was blustery, rainy, and cold, and the line outside was crazy! Luckily, we had prepurchased these tickets. I will say that the Guinness Storehouse is definitely worth the visit. They’ve done a very beautiful job of explaining their process and the building itself is very pretty. Also, Guinness definitely tastes the best in Ireland!

Very commercial but of course, no trip to Dublin would be complete without a trip here. Self guided tour takes about 1 hour. The gravity bar provided an incredible view of the city and the surrounding mountains and was a highlight of the visit.

On our first visit to Dublin we came here and did the self-guided tour. We wanted to add in the connoisseur experience (which was recommended to us by friends who had previously visited), but it was fully booked days in advance. I recommend booking in advance for anything you are interested in. The self-guided tour was ok but ~very~ commercial and busy. You don't see any of the operating parts of the storehouse, but rather move through floors and floors of exhibits that tell about the beer production process and a little bit of the history of the brand. Lots of opportunities to buy Guinness branded products throughout. There is an audio tour which you can access and listen to with your smartphone.

Hi there. Many thanks for taking the time to write this review. We are housed in an old fermentation plant, and all tours take place in our visitor center. Unfortunately, there is no access to the working brewery. Nonetheless, I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time here and the views of our Gravity Bar at the end. Thanks again for the feedback, it’s always appreciated. I hope we can welcome you back to the Home of Guinness soon. From the Guinness Storehouse team.

We visited the storehouse in May 2019 pre-COVID. Sorry for the delay but Ireland was our last trip and I am now playing catchup before we start travelling again. We walked over to the Storehouse from St. Patrick's Cathedral through the Finishes, an area of row houses and a few low apartment buildings originally built for workers at the brewery. It was interesting and colourful, especially with the screaming kids and mothers in the streets and small parks.

I am realizing I am ranking all my Dublin activities as excellent, which I guess means I really enjoyed my time in Dublin. The storehouse was another excellent activity. It consists of 7 floors on information on the founding, history and operations of the Guinness brewery and company. Curiously before this visit, I was not really a fan of Guinness, but as I learned that is because it does not taste the same in Canada.

First of all, we pre-bought our tickets online and downloaded onto one of our phones, which was good since we avoided the long line up to get in. The tour takes you from the history of the family (21 children in 18 years, 11 survived), the development of the technique (uses special yeast, 232deg to roast the barley, nitrogen was a later addition), the construction of the storehouse and brewery, and the history of the operation (the site is leased for 9000 years).

You go through several floors describing how the beer is made complete with the senses (aroma, the coolness of the water, and feel) of each ingredient (and how it was prepared both historically and is now, like when nitrogen was first added). There is also a series of displays on Guinness advertising from around the world, starting with pub signs and written advertisements, display figures and sculptures (some quite humorous) and then film and TV advertisements from Europe, Asia and Africa (all very humorous).

Finally you can eat at one of 3 restaurants (Brasserie, Arthur's Place, and the Brewery Bar). We had Croque Monsieurs and salads and of course a beer (Guinness and Hart) at the Brasserie. Guinness does actually make other lighter lagers and ales, if your tastes are otherwise.

Finally up to the Gravity Bar for our free pint of Guinness. You will actually have a small tasting during the tour of fresh Guinness that has yet to see a keg which is very good, but sipping a perfectly poured Guinness (there is actually a method to the pour) in the bar while walking around viewing Dublin spread out below you is also very enjoyable.

Again, this tour is a must see. It took about 4 hours and was well worth it. Highly recommended.

When we visited Dublin, I had originally left this off the itinerary, I’m usually bored at brewery tours, and we've been to quite a few. Additionally, I don’t drink beer and my husband rarely does. That was a mistake. The Guinness Storehouse should not be missed. It was an interactive and fascinating, for all ages. There was history of both how Guinness itself is made, how it's different than other beers, as well as the history of the property it sits on and the brewery itself. In addition, there is a tasting area set up where we got to see some of the staff performing Irish Step Dancing. At the gravity bar, My husband was able to cash in the tickets to try some of the beers that are exclusive to the Guinness Storehouse and will never be sold in stores or at bars. You're also able to get a 360 view of all of Dublin, although it is super crowded up there. While I was reluctant to go, I hope anyone who's on the fence decides to go.

Well laid out and well prepared for Covid regulations. Very interesting story which is told as you travel around each level and upwards until you get to the Gravity Bar at the top. The Gravity Bar is the highlight for me - spectacular views over Dublin city and a nice pint of Guinness too (or you can have a soft drink or even a Black Velvet). There is also a bar on a lower level where you can pay for food and drinks (the gravity bar pint is part of your ticket) and you can even get a pint with your face on the head for €6.50. The shop is very big and well stocked for souvenir hunters. The only part of the tour not available at the moment is the tasting part but they do have an alternative in place which is a talk about the tasting of the ingredients etc. If you like Guinness make sure you head into the city centre via James' Street and Thomas Street as you will find plenty of pubs on the way serving good pints.

I purchased my ticket online the night before and went to the self guided tour in the morning and it was almost empty. The best part of course is getting to the 7th Floor, The Gravity Bar where you can see the beautiful city of Dublin. Your ticket comes with a free drink so just hand it to the bartender. I recommend going early . I was able to go in at 10 am even though the self guided tour time I purchased was in the afternoon. It’s a 10 minute taxi ride from Aloft Hotel where I stayed , and that hotel is a 7 minute walk to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Was down celebrating my birthday with my girlfriend and we had an amazing experience with our tour guide Mike. He was so informative and made our experience feel very exclusive, as well as bringing the banter and the craic which is exactly the vibe we were hoping for given that we’re here during the time that Dublin isn’t fully out of lockdown. The new procedures that are in place have proven to be working tremendously and the staff here are thriving, doing the best they can to make sure the customers experience is second to none. Have been before and will be back again. Thank you so much Mike for being so class and great at your job! Your an A class!
