What a day!! Rich was informative both about the mountain, and on tips and tricks to do with mountain walking and equipment etc. a wealth of knowledge and a laugh over the whole day. With snow on the peak it’s not a walk I would have completed alone so the guidance was greatly appreciated. Such an incredible day out, definitely recommend !

I went up Ben Nevis with my 15 year old and we enjoyed the phenomenal views, the long walk up to to the summit and the nice group. All with the guidance of Rich, who told us about the mountain, the track and warned us not to to leave the the trail. All and all a good day with special thanks to the Abacus guide.

I don’t like hills, they lack buildings
Ps. An absence of big black people and a cafe at the top would have been nice

We had a fantastic day out with Sally, who brought us up Ben Nevis via the CMD Arete route. It was challenging at times, especially on the Arete (ridge) but the weather could not have been better for the climb, with great vies for most of the 20km 9 hour hike.
Sally knew the route well and was able to guide us along tricky sections and show us how to use ice axes and crampons, needed for parts of the route.
All in all, a great expererience, and I look forward to doing more highland hikes with sally and Abacus Mountain guides soon.

This was my first ascent of Snowdon and my first climb of my solo three peaks challenge, 1 Bob, 2 Wheels, 3 Peaks, travelling between peaks by cycle.
I booked a guide in advance as I wanted to get the most out of the experience and of course safety was another important factor.
I was not disappointed.
Booked on a group session, in the event I was the only customer booked that turned up. The ascent however still went ahead.
It was a fantastic experience, my guide, Sally, was excellent and very knowledgeable.
It was, as is apparently quite normal, very wet and cloudy at the top, another good reason to have an experienced guide, the cairns can be tricky to spot. Snow at the top too, nice to see the snow buntings.
The information and checklists provided was very useful.
Would definitely recommend.
A bit late in posted my review. Just got a certificate through from TCT to tell me that my event raised £2,227.79, including gift aid.
Glad it started well, having a good guide does make a difference!

Ewan was an extremely helpful and knowledgable guide providing constant encouragement to all members of the party according to their needs. Not an easy skill! He inspired trust and obviously knew the mountains well. His patience and ability to chat with all group members was so much appreciated as was his knowledge of the wildlife and flora and fauna.
The advice given on the run up,to the ascent day itself was helpful and safety seems always a paramount concern.
I had a fabulous experience climbing Ben Nevis - a personal challenge made into an enjoyable experience. Thank you Ewan and Abacus!

We had a fantastic day out with Mike who was incredibly encouraging and patient with us when we took a little longer than we might have. Our climb was delayed by 2 years due to Covid but it was well worth the wait. The snow at the top was a wonderful surprise.

I was travelling alone, and was delighted to find that there was an option to join a group walk which was not a weekend.
Mike very kindly collected me from the train station as I had travelled by public transport, and checked that we all had sufficient layers/gloves etc before starting.
The walk was a little tough battling against 50mph, but Mike was very good at keeping us motivated and safe.
The walk down was much better weather, where we had lessons on the different plants too.
I would definitely recommend Abacus, and hope to revisit and join another walk some day.

Hi. I'll be in Fort William in September, 18th. I'd like to know if it's easy to get to the place where the adventure begins :)
I won't have a car. Could you give me any information about transportation in the area?
Thanks a lot!

Hi, it is a stenuous hike and you will probably be tired at the end. Takes about 7 hours and you need to be moderately fit and bring good boots and warm clothes, gloves and beanie. Well worth the effort, great views and go with Abacus.
