David was a wonderful guide. A true professional! We enjoyed our excursion from the cruise port very much. He was knowledgeable and accommodating to all our requests. We have traveled extensively and have used many travel guides, and David is one of the absolute best. We would love to return someday and experience one of David's Outlander tours.

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with David during our trip to Scotland in May 2023. For part of our trip we used Inverness as a base to explore the Highlands and used his service for 3 days. Even prior to the trip, we had extensive email discussions about what we'd like to do, what our "must do's" were and what our "nice to do" list was. He helped us to craft a personalized experience for the three days where we saw so many amazing things. Without his planning expertise, we would not have seen as much as we did. His professionalism was top notch, always on time with a spotless, comfortable ride. His knowledge of the area allowed us to have a better appreciation of what we were seeing. With the beautiful sights in the Highlands, and the tricky driving, I would highly encourage everybody to use Scenic Routes. Your vacation will be better for it!

David was so great. My mother and I were visiting from the states and only had a vague idea of what we wanted to see. David came up with an amazing itinerary. He included stops that we would never have even known to ask for. Everything was so beautiful and the drive was very relaxing. David was extremely friendly, funny and kind. He was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip. He provided water and home made cookies courtesy of his wife. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to enjoy Scotland with someone who knows the area and all the secret spots

We had a terrific day touring Loch Ness, Invergordon, Inverness and Beuley. Thank you to our driver, David Laidlaw, who took us out in his new Mercedes E class estate. David took us to places that aren't on the usual tour bus trails. We are happy to recommend David, much more civilized and comfortable than a bus with 50 other people.

We went on a day tour with David last Friday. We made a wonderful choice booking with David. The day was very enjoyable and he went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience. David drove us up to John O Grouts and we were able to stop on a few places on the way. David is very knowledgeable and was able to provide valuable information about the area. Though we had a rental car I did not feel confident driving all the way up and it was a good thing I didn't - with David we were able to sit back and relax and not have the stress of driving that distance. He was very punctual responding to our emails and was impressed with his professionalism. I would highly recommend a private tour and one especially with David. Can't say enough good things about our experience. It felt like an old friend was spending the day with us. Would not hesitate to use his services again.

Spent a great day with David around Inverness, Culloden, Loch Ness and locales nearby. Huge knowledgeable and personable. Bottom line: highly recommended.

My husband and I enjoyed 2 seperate full day tours with David Laidlaw and Scenic Routes and enjoyed every minute of it! We based ourselves in Inverness this trip and count ourselves very lucky to have toured with David. Our days were varied and included Culloden, Brodie Castle, Whisky in Speyside and a visit to Pluscarden Abbey, where the service is still held in Latin with Gregorian chants, Chanonry Point, the Clootie Well, Dunrobin Castle and the Falconry presentation and beautiful Dornoch and it’s cathedral plus wee villages and the Glen Ord distillery. Nothing was rushed, guests are made incredibly comfortable in his luxury Mercedes, David is local to the area and provided wonderful details and commentary and the added BONUS was a tin of his wife Susan’s homemade shortbread freshly made for guests each tour day! I’m sure all his clients feel this way, but we feel we made a dear friend in Scotland and look forward to working with him the next trip.

Would recommend David Laidlaw Scenic Routes Luxury Travel to anyone! We got in much later then we had expected emailed very late. Pleasantly surprised at the early morning respond. Was able to book a private tour that work for perfectly for both. Wonderful,very knowledgeable about all thing Scotland, very clean car, excellent driver. We 4 friends (2 couples) spent 2 delightfully tasty and truly fun-filled days with David being whisked around both Speyside and The Highlands - whisky tasting, watching coopers hammer away, and visiting out-of-the-way gems not far off the beaten track. His wealth of knowledge and experience is complimented by his spot-on understanding of what we were about and what we might find interesting. He will be remembered long and fondly. Thanks David!! Experience part of route 500 from Dornoch to Lybster. The everchanging landscape from the water is simply jaw dropping. Next take the Applecross (costal scenic drive), shortly after Shieldaig. We took off from Gairloch and towards Torrindon. Just be mindful of narrow passage. It is safe, lots of passing lay by where another vehicle can pass by safely. Do take the gondola up the Nevis Range mountain (Scotland highest peak) experience , another splendid view from up high. If highland town is must for your visit, choose Oban. We throughly enjoyed this town compare to Skye.

We had a wonderful day with David last week. He picked us up by the castle in Inverness exactly on schedule. We had given David an idea of the things that we would like to see, but (the night before), had asked him if it would be possible to see the Highland Coos. David found a route that would allow us to see some Coos, Castles, beautiful countryside and avoid the crowds. David was very pleasant company and very knowledgeable about Scotland's history, people, and wildlife. And, yes, his wife's shortbread cookies are awesome!! Highlights: -A plane taking off from the RAF base (near a castle we visited) went straight up in the air and did a (360?) turn before disappearing in the distance. A take off that we Americans call the "E Ticket ride"! -The castle where we could climb to to the top and see for miles. -And, of course, the Coos (which were pets at the distillery we visited). We loved traveling with David and appreciated his knowledge of the area and great itinerary idea. Highly recommended!

If you are considering a guide for the Inverness area, absolutely book David! I can’t say enough good things about him, his tour, his car, his flexibility, and his wife’s shortbread cookies! We enjoyed our day with him thoroughly and would not hesitate to recommend him for you and your friends/family.

If you don't like anything else, (and you will!) you will love the delicious shortbread cookies that David places strategically in the back center seat. We had a wonderful day with him, starting in Culloden and the battlefields, going to Clava Cairns, and eating lunch at a great pub. Then we went on to Beauly Priory and back to the ship. Communication with David was perfect via email, and he was also very responsive in person. His son was home from the military, and yet he still kept our tour date. Thanks David for a wonderful day!
