A spectacular and awesome adventure to add to your Scotland "must do" list.
Not having taking many travel tours in my life, my trip to the highlands (Isle of Sky, Eileen Donan Castle from Inverness) with my daughter on January 14, 2024 was an incredible experience for me and well worth the expense. We were greeted by Liall our excellent host and travel guide and hopped onto a mid-size bus that was very clean, cozy and warm as the weather was cold with snow flurries during the day that made the adventure even more fun. Although the castle was closed the day we went, we were still able to walk around the grounds and surrounding scenic area which was breathtaking in itself. The many stops along this route are super beautiful. You cannot possibly take a bad picture anywhere. What we received on this tour is a day we will never forget; beautiful views, great Scottish music, a kind and very knowledgeable tour guide host, Liall, who shared a vast amount of information on the history, the surrounding landscape areas we were exploring and many stories of Scotland. We appreciated his wonderful service to the group. There were plenty of stops along the way to make our trip very comfortable. And the best thing is that we did not have to drive. We just sat back and enjoyed the ride. I totally recommend this incredible experience to all who are planning a trip to Scotland. We thoroughly loved it.

Best money I’ve ever spent! Absolutely breathtaking views and a great driver who was born and raised in Scotland. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Definitely fit this tour into your itinerary!
Fantastic tour from Inverness to the beauty that is Isle of Skye. So glad we did this tour and got to experience the picturesque Skye and also see the incredible coastlines. A massive thanks to Liall who was an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide throughout the trip. Highly recommend.

      2023 Portree, Skye
Portree was a pretty town but October is not the time to visit. Most of the restaurants were closed or so crowded they didn't take reservations.

Incredible 2-day Isle of Skye Tour with Liall
The 2-day tour to the Isle of Skye was unbelievably great, especially because of our outstanding Tourguide Liall. Liall took us to such beautiful places that would probably have been difficult to find on our own, gave us lots of interesting information and played very good music. We had more than enough time to explore everything we wanted to and felt that we were in good hands at all times. All the stops were absolutely worth it and we will certainly never forget the scenery of the beautiful Highlands.

      Interesting
Interesting tour, Alex our tour guide was amazing, very informative super friendly and passionate about his childhood home the isle of skye. Really enjoyed the castle stops and feeding the coo’s (thanks Alex for bringing carrots) . Its really important to know if you are doing this tour in winter, be prepared for not seeing an awful lot! We had a rainy day with low grey cloud which had a huge impact visually on the isle of skye. I was told by several people before going to scotland we must visit the isle of skye as it’s stunning but unfortunately this wont be my memory. Bear also in mind the windows of the coach get covered in rain so even taking the views in from the comfort of the coach is difficult. It’s also dark at 4pm so things being pointed out after that are also not visible. We found the tour too long and it got boring after the lunch stop, this was nothing to do with Alex, he tried really hard to make the best of a bad thing and came up with all sorts of interesting facts. No one wanted to get off the coach for the last two scheduled stops because of the rain so i would have rather have cut the tour short after lunch in the isle of skye and got back to Inverness as quickly as possible. I felt that Alex would have looked at this as a failure on his part if he cut it short but personally i think the winter tours should be shorter. 12 hours is a long while mostly sat on the coach, I would rather have had my evening back. By the time we got out to dinner after a quick freshen up it was nearly 9pm. I don’t regret going it was interesting and I can say ive been to the isle of skye but i think its probably two hours too long, its very tiring and how Alex drove all that way and back is commendable and I felt very safe. Thank you!

Our 1 day Isle of Skye bus tour was amazing! The music, stories, and atmosphere in the bus was great! Our favorite parts were the views at the waterfalls and kilt rock, the coos, and touring inside the Donan Castle! Thank you Liall - Honsey family🫶

      Scotland with Tom C
What an amazing trip! The tour company was easy to work with and we were able to customize our tour. All we had to do was get in the bus and go. Our guide, Tom C, was the best! He was personable, knowledgeable, explained what were going to see before we got to our destination and made history come to life. He engaged my 15 year old son and kept his attention (not an easy task). He had us trying Hagis, Black pudding, prawn chips and much more. We now consider him a friend and hope he can come to Texas for a visit. I highly recommend Timberbush Tours and don’t forget to ask for Tom C, you won’t regret it!

Great way to experience a taste of Skye!
Wonderful 2-day trip to Skye! Our tour guide was Sandy and he did an amazing job telling stories, pointing out flora and fauna, all while driving through the infamous Scottish weather and maximizing the daylight hours (we had about 8 hours in mid-November) for seeing the sights. We enjoyed all the stops and had a great camaraderie with Sandy along with the other guests. All in all, a completely enjoyable experience!

      Stellar Highlands Tour!!!
Took this tour just today and it was outstanding!!! Helen was simply the best. Funny, informative, sooo knowledgeable and just the kindest guide and driver. This is the intro to the Highlands tour to take. The music she added was so appropriate and appreciated. Great flow to the tour. Not rushed. I really felt like I was getting information from an insider. Helen rocks! I’ll be using Rabbie’s from now on.

      Andy S from Inverness
The trip was amazing! Andy S was an absolutely exceptional driver, 0 complaints. On top of that, his story telling kept me captivated and always on my toes for the next one. Every stop had purpose, a gorgeous view of Scotland and history to reinforce it. I loved the music as well, it really set the tone for the beauty of the landscape, and made me feel like I had travelled back in time. But I swear if the ladies and gentleman (singular - you know who you are if you read this) that were at the back of the bus leave a bad review I will be upset. Some of the most negative people I have come across. They complained about the views, they complained about the music, they were asked not to eat hot food and all I could smell on the ride home was hot buttery popcorn. Not nice people, if it weren’t for Andy I wouldn’t have had such a grand time!

Had a really wonderful day on my tour with Timerbush! We got super lucky with the weather, and even with it being winter, the area was absolutely stunning. I loved the castle and boat trip which was extra, but worth every penny! Timing was great, even it being a little sped up due to shortened daylight hours. (I was actually super glad for us to arrive back early as I had a flight to catch!) Unfortunately, we had a really rude group of people on our tour that continued to talk over our guide the entire day -- obviously this is out of the guide's control, but as a teacher, may I suggest the guides use some "classroom management" techniques in these situations where some guests act like children?? Setting the expectation that they should be quiet even if they don't care to listen, out of respect for those who do want to listen, can sometimes go a long way 😝 Driving music was also pretty odd haha, I would have preferred some moments of quiet maybe, as I was feeling a little sensory overload in the car with so much talking all day! Was super glad to join this tour though, it definitely made the short trip up to Inverness so worth it!!! And I'm very glad I opted for the full day drive around the lake instead of just the half day castle and boat option many people do. Will definitely be back to explore more of the Highlands after this great introduction!

Oh my God absolutely gorgeous day. Fantastic! Everywhere you go is worth it, every stop is photogenic and deserves to be taken at least 10 photos at. Our tour guide Kev was Fantastic!! I did this in late January! But still loved it.

Lochness cruise and Urqhart castle and Falls Foyers are the highlights for me 👌 just a heads up that you need to pay additional £18.50 for the cruise and castle.

What a good fun day out! Well worth the money. We were with Gill, Kyle and tattoed Tam as our drivers/couriers.
As customers, we were a mixed bag of tourists, English, American and Dutch. The laughter set off almost right from the start and went throughout the day. The scenery is of course stunning and the attractions good - the castle was wonderful and, given its age, remarkable for its condition. The boat trip on the Loch was very entertaining, one of the crew telling stories and pointing out the sonar where the depth indication went from a metre or so down to about 140 metres! Highly recommended but see if you can travel with Gill, Kyle and tattooed Tam (not his real name obvs).

Hi there, thank you for your review! I'm glad to hear you had such a great time on the Loch Ness and the Highlands tour with Gill, Kyle and "tattooed Tam". It's always great when a tour is full of laughter, it makes all the sights even better. The scenery on that one is some of the best, and the boat is a great add-on so I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully we will see you on another tour some day soon! All the best, David

We took this tour with Ryan who was an excellent guide with exceptional knowledge of the highlands. The tour was perfectly paced with plenty of rest stops and stops to take magical photographs of the loch and other highlights of the highlands. This tour definitely over delivered on all fronts - thanks Ryan and team.

On a November day with Scottish weather, I explored the mysteries of Loch Ness the way the Scots would do. No, not by horse, but in a mini van. Our driver and guide Liall Mackenzie narrated the sceneries and cultural heritage in an informative and humouristic way. Did you know that the Loch Ness is so deep that it is impossible to send a camera down to observe what creatures dwell down there? And that reintroducing the Caledonian pine tree, native to Scotland, so far failed because deer eat the saplings? If you sign up for this tour, you will be amazed about the rich history of this famous part of Scotland. The open and welcoming attitude of Liall certainly added to the experience. He truly beamed with proud about his country, was ever willing to answer questions, and worked us through the day in an easy-going, calm manner. I look back fondly at this wonderful day.

Such an enjoyable trip, which included Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness cruise, waterfalls and Dores beach. It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip from start to finish. The scenery was breathtaking and the trip delivered all it promised it would. Liall was an excellent driver and guide giving in depth information about aspects of the tour and probably went beyond the call of duty answering questions from most of Scottish history! He was very engaging and personable engaging brilliantly with everyone on the trip. Cannot recommend it highly enough! Thank you Liall and Timberbush!

Our day tour to Lochness and Uruqhart Castle was highly disappointing. Firstly be aware that not only do you have to pay for the cruise and entry to Uruqhart Castle (mentioned on the website) but you also have to pay in cash which, if you don't already have cash on you can amount to a hefty charge at the ATM. Secondly, you do not get to spend more than 10 minutes at any of the other attractions and two of them were pointed out as we drove past and many people on the coach didn't even see them. Finally, the tour is advertised as a 12 hour tour (8am - 8pm) which is a long day in itself, however without consulting the group the guide decided to add an extra stop, avoiding the motorway and adding an extra 1.5 hours to the tour, meaning we weren't back until 9.30 and many of us lost dinner reservations and couldn't find other options for food. The extra attraction couldn't even be seen as it was potch black so the driver had to use his high beams so we could see. A poorly organised and run tour by Chloe. Would not recommend

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, we always appreciate feedback of any kind. Our Loch Ness & The Highlands tour is a longer one, but we like to ensure that there are plenty of stops and photo opportunities along the way. We have chosen the stops to be sure people can buy goods, go to the toilet, or explore the area and enjoy the beauty of Scotland. Our drivers-guides play music and tells lots of stories, facts, and jokes during the tour to share the amazing history of Scotland and entertain you during the trip. While we always aim to return on time this may change depending on unforeseen circumstances such as heavy road traffic, diversions or accidents so we recommend leaving as much time as possible for further travels. With some investigation we would like to again sincerely apologise for the problem we encountered with the fatal traffic accident that caused a delay to your tour and we can confirm your lovely guide and driver did inform all passengers. We agree that you can enjoy an hour long cruise taking in spectacular views of the loch's many islands and surrounding mountains. Entrance fees to attractions such as this, are not included in the tour price, as these are optional extras, which you may or may not want to participate in on the day. This information can be found on our website, via the booking site. However, we are sorry to hear this information wasn't seen. We apologize if you felt you were misled by the tour description and have taken on your feedback about the driver-guide format and about the rest areas/activities available on the tour. Thank you again for sharing valuable feedback with us. Best Wishes, Amy

This tour was amazing and Alex, the tour guide, provided so much history and interesting facts during the drive.

Urquhart Castle was beautiful, right on the shores of Loch News. And the town of Fort Augustus was very nice too. The Loch Ness cruise was well worth it as well, since they provide a lot of interesting history and information about the Loch and its famous monster, Nessie!

We LOVED this day tour. Our tour guide (Andy S) put a lot of effort into making our day special despite it being foggy and rainy for most of the afternoon.

This tour was perfect for our short stay in Inverness as we saw many key sights and Andy told us lots about the history of Inverness. We loved learning more about Nessie and visiting the castle.

The tour felt well timed and gave us time to relax together but also to get some good walks in.

Conducting a bus tour in COVID times is not easy yet the tour company made it a really enjoyable experience. We were a small group and there was enough space to socially distance in the bus itself.

The tourguide was very personable and gave us time to explore the various sites on the tour (including Fort Augustus, Loch Ness, the river cruise, Falls of Foyers).

I'd definitely recommend the tour - a must-do and a great day out if visiting Inverness
