- 138MRP0 contributionsWonderful Scottish GuidesWe started our time in Inverness with a glorious day traveling around the Isle of Skye with Andrew, a world class story teller! With joy, humor, and enthusiasm, Andrew shared experiences about life growing up in the highlands, different jobs he had held and retold teenaged experiences. Fabulous sense of humor and he laughed along with us. We had a problem with our car so Andrew arranged to drive us the following day to visit the Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns and get us to a prearranged distillery tour. Because we no longer had a car, Happy Tours took us down to our next stop, St Andrews. We met a new driver, Drew, another great conversationist with a completely different Scottish background. We stopped along the way to see an AMAZING Working Sheep Dog exhibition, just like Babe (but no pig). Cannot recommend the helpful kindness we experienced with Happy Tours.Written August 27, 2024

- xoxo-kz0 contributionsPerfect for Tweens and TeensOur family includes a 13-year-old history buff, and a 10-year-old who has no interest in history at all. From the Urquhart Castle to the Culloden Battlefield to the Clava Cairns, our guide, Ian, gave both kids a perfect day. (My husband and I loved it, too!) Ian personalized our tour by skipping the distillery in favor of a trip to the Loch Ness Centre, a immersive, multimedia museum that the kids loved. Sharing legends of warrior fairies and stories of Nessie sightings alongside historical observations, Ian quickly felt like an old (kilt-wearing!) friend -- with a vast knowledge of this awe-inspiring place.Written July 29, 2024
- 544shanae0 contributionsSuper tour and great company to work withWe loved this tour! And our guide was really great, a safe driver, and squeezed a LOT into the day. Plenty of potty breaks, and we added on Cawdor Castle (for an extra fee) and it was worth it! The Loch Ness was more the surrounding area and all it has to offer. Highly recommend we had a great day!Written July 5, 2024

- PatS1700 contributionsWonderful Tour of Castle & countrysideWonderful tour with a visit to the Castle that is still being used for family weddings, etc; The items displayed in the Castle is amazing; After the Castle we continued on to another small town to have their famous fish and chips; and on the way back we stopped at a river that is said the have eternal youthful properties if you dip your head into it for 7 seconds (we will see if it works) Also walked up to a waterfall and were able to touch the wooly cows; it was all so fun.Written May 15, 2024

Drew was very knowledgeable on all of the sights we visited and most importantly, was a pleasure to spend the day conversing with while touring the various sites . Seeing the historic Clava Cairns and Culledon Battlefield were remarkable. No Loch Ness monster sighting! One of our favorite moments was getting a chance to see the Highlight Cows up close. - tineh20140 contributionsGood communication! The provider informed me that due to some Scotland government regulations, the tour we had planned and booked for August 2024 had to be adapted or cancelled. Their communication was polite, and though they had to remind me several times that I had to reply to them, stayed very polite. Most of all I appreciate that I was informed very early that we had to replan. Thank you so much for that, Happy Tours!Written April 5, 2024

- 29150 contributionsExcellent experienceMy sister and I traveled to Scotland in September, 2023. We had decided not to rent a car and drive. Of all our choices she chose this tour and we were not disappoInted. Lochness is not all about a monster. It is beautiful and well worth the trip. The Urquhart Castle is a ruin which has been preserved on Lochness. The view of the castle from the visitor’s center is brilliant. We made different stops before lunch and then to the Culloden Battlefield where a significant event in Scottish history happened. Finally we toured the Clava Cairns where if you are a believer (Outlander) there is a vertical stone that can be touched and possibly transport you to a different century. Malcolm wore a kilt and was a great guide and the 8 seater van was comfortable and much more intimate than a huge tour bus. Just do it❗️Written November 30, 2023

Amazing day we had! The Dunrobin Castle and Glenmorangie Distillery Tour 🏴
Date traveled : September 14th 2022
From: Canada
Price paid: $240.00 CAD for x2 ppl.
Guide: DREW :)
Fabulous guide, Drew, was ! Amazing:)
We were fortunate enough to have only x6 off us ( mixed group of strangers from all over the globe) in the van so we all got along like a bunch of happy 1/2 pissed clams walking around a distillery at the end of the tour ;)
Drew was a fab host; the hawk and falcons at the Dunrobin Castle were spectacular and of course, the sites along the highway were breathtaking.
Thanks DREW for being a ball of laughs and for driving like we were on a rollercoaster. Believe it or not, we liked thrill.

We spent an amazing day with Craig touring Dunrobin Castle and the Glenmorangie Distillery. Craig was personable, funny, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. The falconry show at Dubrobin was an incredible experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Thank you again Craig!

Thank you Lee for leaving Craig a lovely review. The photo you shared with us of the castle gardens is lovely. The falconry display is indeed incredible, the birds are so well trained but still free to do their own thing. We are really "happy" you had such an amazing day. Haste ye back

My sister and I toured Scotland in September, 2023 and one of our stops was Inverness. We chose not to rent a car and drive so she picked out this tour and not really knowing about the area we were not disappointed. It was guided by William in a kilt which was a nice touch which also gave you a taste of his clan loyalty. We traveled in a comfortable 8 seater van which made the trip much more intimate. The itinerary was interesting. The view of the Dunrobin Castle from the garden level is unforgettable. At the last stop at the Glenmorangie Distillery we were gathered to taste of wee dram of distilled Scotch (which I passed on) and William (Bill) treated us to some of his wife’s, Mary, homemade shortbread. Such a generous personal gesture❗️

Thank you so much for the great review for Bill. We are delighted you enjoyed the tour to beautiful Dunrobin Castle. Having a local guide makes the experience more memorable and gives you information not readily accessible. Mairi’s shortbread is always a winner 😀
Haste ye back.

The tour was great. The van was very clean and modern. The scenery was breathtaking including getting to see seals swimming and sunning themselves. Best castle tour we have been to and it also included a falcon and hawk demonstration that was incredible. Even better than all those wonderful things was our driver Stewart. Stewart was funny, informative and just made the day perfect. Highly recommend.

We could not have asked for a better experience as we traveled to and toured the Dunrobin Castle and Glenmorangie Distillery. The castle was magnificent and was the inspiration for the Disney princess castles. The beautiful grounds provided the perfect environment for a lovely stroll as well as a falconry exhibit. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting at the Glenmorangie Distillery along with commentary and explanation from our guide. We were so fortunate to have had Stewart as our guide. He provided a pleasant, calm, and caring environment while filling our trip with interesting information at every turn. Both trips we’ve taken with Happy Tours were well worth the time.

Dunrobin is a beautiful castle (similar to the beautiful home in Newport, RI. Enjoyed walking around. The falconry show in the garden was very cool! Nice lunch in Dornoch. Then our stop to Glenmorangie. This was the highlight of the tour with this distillery being one of our favorites. We were somewhat rushed but we still got to do tastings of the whisky. I would've loved an official tasting and tour but we knew that was not part of the tour. Next time!! Drew was a great tour guide! Very knowledgeable!

Happy Tours saved the day when another tour cancelled due to covid. Drew was our guide and made sure we had everything we needed. He was friendly and informative. The tour left and arrived on time, and was well organized. It was an enjoyable day and I would book with this company again.
Dunrobin Castle is really beautiful and worth seeing. It has some accessibility issues, but a person can be driven down to the garden level with some communication with the castle. The falconry display is in the garden area and was really exciting!
Lunch was in Dornoch at the Eagle Hotel. It was good enough, but in retrospect, I wish I had eaten a packed lunch and walked around town instead.
Glenmorangie was ok. We have been on many other distillery tours and found this one rushed and lacking a lot of information. It was a quick introduction, so worth doing if you haven't been on a distillery tour before.
It was a good tour and a relaxing day.

Than you so much Carrie for the lovely review for Happy Tours and Drew. We love your photos that you've shared, especially the one with the hawk in full flight. Well captured!
As you say, you can get help down to the display if you let us know in advance you have some mobility issues, we're glad on the day you managed to be accommodated.
Dornoch is a beautiful lunch stop , so your tip is great!
Glenmorangie is a nice place to visit, we're sorry you thought the tour a bit sparce.

This was a good tour and one I’d recommend. The distillery was interesting but the castle stills the show.
Amazing place and the gardens are second to none. The Duke who held the property isn’t the most honorable but what a place!
The Falcons show is a must see as well.
Craig is a good guide who will watch out for you, a safe driver, shares good knowledge and I heck of a nice guy

Stuart was a great tour guide! He really went above and beyond to help my mobility-challenged Mom during our tour. He is so knowledgeable about the history of Scotland and his passion for the area showed. Scotland is gorgeous! The small group was so nice- we all were talking and having fun during the tour. Nice, clean vans! We booked 2 other tours with Happy Tours as a result of our time today. Thank you!

We are a group of 5 interested in this tour. Will the "Man in the Kilt" tour guide/driver proceed with the tour if he doesn't have 8 passengers on the day of our tour? In other words, Will he cancel the trip if he doesn't have 8 passengers? Thank you very much !!
Written July 4, 2018
We don't need the maximum of 8 to operate this tour, we can operate with slightly smaller numbers, so no we wouldn't cancel the tour for 5 passengers.
