We had a lovely time on our your to Dunrobin castle and Glenmorangie Distillery, with some nice stops in-between. Billy was a safe driver, shared history and important local information, and ensured all our needs were met. He was very personable as well. Would love to take another tour with him.

Thank you Gina for a fab review for the tour you did with Billy. I'm sure if you're back again in the future you can tour with him, as a local man to the area you were in, his knowledge is second to none. Dunrobin is a truly beautiful Castle and the distillery is a great place to visit for the history of Whisky. Haste ye back!

We had the good luck of having only 3 people on our trip so we went on a private tour with our guide: Tony. Tony is a beautiful and happy human. His genuine love of people and Scottish history was apparent the entire trip. Our entire trip to Scotland was made by his deep knowledge of Jacobite rebellions and he went ABOVE AND BEYOND answering every single obscure question we had.

Wow....Tony is a beautiful and Happy Human... that's so lovely for him to hear. We are very "happy" Kayla you enjoyed your small and personal tour with Tony. All questions you have show how much you love this area and Tony was more than happy to answer them all for you. You'rs so right about his love of all things Scottish. Slàinte mhath!

My wife and I took the Dunrobin tour on 5/15/2018.
Gordon was the guide.
One of the primary reasons we took the tour was because a tour of a whisky distillery was supposed to be included.
This was important to us and we would not have taken the tour if this was not included.
In our plans a whisky distillery tour was going to be one of the highlights of our Scotland trip.
Once the tour started we asked Gordon which distillery we were going to visit because the brochure indicated there were 2 possible choices.
He said he did not plan to visit any distillery and it was NOT included.
When I mentioned to him and showed him that the brochure clearly indicated the distillery tour he just said he had no plans to do that.
I pointed out to him we paid for a distillery tour and he said he was going to call someone but never did.
When I got back from our trip I wrote the tour company and they pretty much told me it was too bad but they are not going to do anything about it.
I would strongly recommend not doing business with this company.

John, we are extremely sorry that you feel you were misled on this tour. This has really surprised us as no one else taking this tour has felt this. Our advertising does say Dornoch or Glenmorangie Distillery. Dornoch is a small town which many visitors want to visit and eat lunch at (not a distillery) so we usually go with the most requested of the two on the tour. The schedule does not allow for time to do both of these things. Gordon did contact myself on the day and told me the situation, but the other guests had decided on the visit to Dornoch so he was advised to carry on to there. Realising that you felt disappointed at not getting your whisky tour, Gordon himself gave you a tasting session of three different whiskys which he said you seemed to enjoy. We do have another tour which always includes a distillery which, with hindsight ,might have been a better tour for you to have taken. We do take on board that you felt disappointed and we will ensure the guides in future check that the distillery trip is not the sole reason for booking this tour. Once again our sincerest apologies for your tour not being as expected

Although we had hired a private guide for our other days in Inverness, we booked this small group tour with Happy Tours. First we had the good fortune of only having three people on our tour so we could go in a smaller vehicle. Second we had the pleasure of having Drew for our guide. Third we were blessed with a gorgeous day. Drew smartly tailored the tour to the three of us. When none of us seemed particularly interested in the distillery we visited, he quickly moved on and instead showed us some lovely scenic spots. I felt Drew genuinely enjoyed being with us. Thanks Drew for a great day.

Thank you for leaving such a great review of the Dunrobin Castle and Glenmorangie tour you took with Drew. Your photo of the purple heather covered hills is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us. We have this smaller vehicle for a more personal tour when numbers booked are small. This lets the guide really get to know you and they do become a friend. Our guides love people, and Drew did very much enjoy his tour with you. Haste ye back.

Our guide Phillip was very informative and warm. The whole family had a great time and we would highly recommend it to any of our friends. We enjoyed information about the larger tourist attractions as well as a few of the lesser known locations.

I went on a wonderful tour with Drew to Dunrobin Castle! It was really interesting to walk through one of the few intact castles left in Scotland. The gardens were gorgeous. And to my surprise we also got to watch a falcon/hawk show which was a treat! We ate in a little town which was excellent. Drew also took us to many spots that had wonderful views for photo taking! Riding through the country side in northern Scotland is the best part about coming up here! I would definitely recommend this tour!

Thanks Kyle for leaving Drew such a great review. Thanks for your recommendation too. Dunrobin Castle is a wonderful place to visit and the falconry display is a must to see these spectacular birds. The scenery around Dornoch and the Firth are truly memorable. Haste ye back

This tour allowed us plenty of time to explore the beautiful interior and gardens of Dunrobin Castle. The tour time allowed is to see the Falconry display at Dunrobin. This was the favourite of our two boys. Our guide, Billy Gray provided lots of detail on local history, local sites and fun stories. The 8 seater van provided a comfortable ride and much more interaction than the large tour bus we took last time we were in Scotland. We had lunch at a spot recommended by Billy in Gallspie which was excellent. Then on to Glen Morangie for a tour and tasting. Billy brought along homemade shortbread and whiskey for a group toast at the end. This tour takes in a good variety of sites and locations for all ages. Although our boys can't drink, the tour at the distillery was interesting to them. Great tour, great guide we would highly recommend this option.

Thank you so much for this fab review for Billy. I'm sure your boys would have thoroughly enjoyed the falconry display at the castle. It is truly amazing how well trained they are. Billy id from around that area so knows all the great spots for lunch and snacks. It's always nice to have a group toast to a lovely day of fun together. Slainte!

Had fun with our chatty guide Bill who also knows a lot of local (and not-so-local) history. Saw Dunrobin castle and nearby sights too. Glenmorangie distillery visit didn't include a tour there but the tasting we had was enough for us.

We are delighted you were "happy" on your tour with Bill to Dunrobin Castle and Glenmorangie Distillery. This is a lovely area of the Highlands and often surprises our guests by how beautiful the area is. The castle is well visited but it's well worth the visit. We are glad you enjoyed the tasting at the distillery, it's often enough for our folks after seeing the visitor centre. Slainte!
