Memorable Full Day Tour from Cruise Port
Our guide Drew made this tour very memorable. Drew was very knowledgeable on all of the sights we visited and most importantly, was a pleasure to spend the day conversing with while touring the various sites . Seeing the historic Clava Cairns and Culledon Battlefield were remarkable. No Loch Ness monster sighting! One of our favorite moments was getting a chance to see the Highlight Cows up close. Thank you Drew and Happy Tours for a great day!

      Good communication!
The provider informed me that due to some Scotland government regulations, the tour we had planned and booked for August 2024 had to be adapted or cancelled. Their communication was polite, and though they had to remind me several times that I had to reply to them, stayed very polite. Most of all I appreciate that I was informed very early that we had to replan. Thank you so much for that, Happy Tours!

      Excellent experience
My sister and I traveled to Scotland in September, 2023. We had decided not to rent a car and drive. Of all our choices she chose this tour and we were not disappoInted. Lochness is not all about a monster. It is beautiful and well worth the trip. The Urquhart Castle is a ruin which has been preserved on Lochness. The view of the castle from the visitor’s center is brilliant. We made different stops before lunch and then to the Culloden Battlefield where a significant event in Scottish history happened. Finally we toured the Clava Cairns where if you are a believer (Outlander) there is a vertical stone that can be touched and possibly transport you to a different century. Malcolm wore a kilt and was a great guide and the 8 seater van was comfortable and much more intimate than a huge tour bus. Just do it❗️

      An excellent choice
My sister and I toured Scotland in September, 2023 and one of our stops was Inverness. We chose not to rent a car and drive so she picked out this tour and not really knowing about the area we were not disappointed. It was guided by William in a kilt which was a nice touch which also gave you a taste of his clan loyalty. We traveled in a comfortable 8 seater van which made the trip much more intimate. The itinerary was interesting. The view of the Dunrobin Castle from the garden level is unforgettable. At the last stop at the Glenmorangie Distillery we were gathered to taste of wee dram of distilled Scotch (which I passed on) and William (Bill) treated us to some of his wife’s, Mary, homemade shortbread. Such a generous personal gesture❗️

      Strongly recommend
The tour was excellent! Our guide Stuart was outstanding, very skilled and the places we visited were amazing. It was also really interesting to learn how to trully drink whisky! I have to mention that on the day of our tour it was raining and when we arrived in the Battlefiled, the rain was really hard but Stuart went through, asked if we would like to go to the field even under that weather and as we said so, he went with us and did a really good job explaining everything to us although soaked and wet.

      Great tour experience
We did three tours with Happy Tours: Isle of Skye & Eileen Donan castle (Mike was our tour guide); Glenfinnon Viaduct & Great Glen (with Drew); and, Culloden Battlefield & Loch Ness (with Malcolm). We thoroughly enjoyed all three tours and each of our tour guides. They were entertaining, informative, attentive, and punctual. We'd highly recommend this company for tours!

Must do tour!! Do not hesitate to book this tour, it was one of our favorite parts of our trip! Niall specifically was a great guide and shared much more than we would have learned while touring ourselves and was very entertaining. Would recommend five times over! Only wish we had more time to try more of the tours.

Let me first say, our tour guide and driver, Drew, was excellent. He made the best out of a rainy, windy, cloudy day in the Highlands. He gave excellent information on the area both historical and current events, had excellent recommendations, and was a great conversationist.

Taking a Western Coast Scotland day tour comes with the risk of less than ideal weather, hiding the amazing landscape and features like The Old Man of Storr. However, there were aspects to this tour that did align with the listing despite the bad weather. First, the two castles on the itinerary were not available for entry. The first on Loch Ness is currently closed and the second, Eilean Donan had been closed for a wedding, even if the castle had been open to tourists, our guide said we wouldn't have time to explore the castle, just walk the bridge.

I booked this tour to see the Old Man of Storr, I assumed that while we wouldn't get very close, we would be closer than what we were. Drew shared that due to increased people going to the closer lookout point, you now had to pay to park there. It felt like after lucking out with a break in the clouds and rain, taking advantage of a full 20 minutes closer to the site would have been obvious. We spent around 5 minutes roadside, too far for my camera to get a good shot. However, I am grateful that I saw it at all and a break for the bus.

We also didn't stop a second time at the next coffee shop, but Drew took us on a little drive around the same area to see more of the local scenery which was a nice add on to the day.

I think some of the decreased time out of the van was due to the weather, but also because daylight hours are shorter now in the Highlands. I don't think this tour, even despite being a smaller group was worth the price that I paid for the experience I had today.

I would definitely book with Happy Tours thought because Drew was great and I believe a lof the issues came from end of the season and icky weather.

We are really happy you enjoyed your tour with Drew, but sad you felt it wasn't value for money. It's unfortunate the weather on the day was so bad, but it is to be expected here at this time of year. The itinerary quite clearly says you will have a stop at both Castles but the admission is not included. Each castle need over an hour to do them justice and the total tour time just doesn't allow for this unfortunately. Normally more time is indeed spent outside the bus but on this day the guide used his professional judgement with the appalling weather. At this time of year coffee shops sometimes close at short notice if they are not busy, but as you say our guide did give you an alternative route to see. We do hope to see you again!

Booking a tour for 4 is no small feat when you want something a little more personalized. Well, if you are like us, then you want to book this one. You will not be disappointed. Showed up to the meeting point and a wonderfully charming gentleman named NIALL (pronounced Nee-All) welcomed us and got us all situated. He was very keen in ensuring our comfort so sat riders in front who might be sensitive to motion and checked in on us all regularly. Well, let me tell you Niall is highly skilled, highly trained, vastly educated and one of the best storytellers I've come across in my years. His knowledge of Scottish and Highland history is fascinating, his mix of story and folklore captured all of us and it made the trip between destinations part of the experience. We stopped in some wonderful locations and his knowledge of each of them had us all jumping out of the comfy van to explore more! He also gave us space and time to do things on our own and graciously declined when we invited him to join us. The coup de gras, the piece du resistance was his playing a funeral song on the bag pipes while we visited the McRae cemetery site that was along our path. Absolutely had us all motionless, speechless and feeling the moment and the location like I can't even describe. Well, there were so many other wonderful moments of this trip (and some surprises that await you!) that we were sad to say goodbye. We thank NIALL for a wonderful day that we will never forget!

This was an amazing day out. Robbie our coach and driver of the 8 seater mini bus was great, full of knowledge explaining and telling us all the history on every stop he made on this trip. I would highly recommend anyone going to Inverness to book this trip you won't regret it , it was a fantastic day out for my 60th birthday, loved every minute of it. Overall Fantastic from beginning to end.

We chose the small format tour as we don't like being with large crowds. With 8 people maximum it felt more intimate than a large bus. Our guide was Willie and he is a very affable bloke. We had a lovely day of weather and we thanked Willie for ordering that up for us. Many great stops along the way and it was nice to have a little more time at Eilean Donan castle and the ability to walk around Portree and get some food. The landscape was stunning and our guide was very good with local stories and history that you would not get otherwise and he was always willing to answer any question you had. If you want to see a lot in one day yet not come home exhausted I would recommend this tour.

We had an excellent tour experience with our Guide Drew on our Happy Tours mini bus tour to the Isle of Skye from Inverness. Our guide was a safe and careful driver and provided a well-informed dialogue about the historical sights on the tour as well as amusing and interesting info on villages and towns and landmarks we were passing. He gave us a great tip for a lunch stop in Portree, and at all times went out of his way to make sure his clients were comfortable and happy.

This is a very good fun day, travelling down Loch Ness, through the Highlands, past some breathtaking coastal scenery, and then through Skye. Along the way, our amazing guide Robbie entertained us with brilliant facts and history, stopping at plenty of interesting sights, and making sure we all had a comfortable and safe trip. There were frequent stops, plenty of water on a hot day, and plenty of insider knowledge of where to get food and drinks when we weren't on the move. It's a lot to pack into a day, so we were tired out by the end of it, but had seen so many great sights that it was entirely worth it. I highly recommend a tour with this company, and if you can get Robbie as your guide you will certainly have an interesting and very entertaining day!

This is one the best one day tours I have experienced. The driver/guide Drew provided a running commentary from the start. His dialogue along the way was a mix of history, folklore and wit which was appreciated by all in the coach. This tour takes you along Loch Ness, through the Glens beyond Invermoriston, over the Skye Bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh and on to Portree. Stopping off at points of interest for photo opportunities and refreshment breaks at Urquhart Castle,Eileen Donan castle, Glens Moriston and Shiel, over the Skye Bridge and on through the Cullin mountains and onto Portree for lunch. This trip is the Highlands at its best. A great insight of what the Highlands has to offer. Well worth it.
Drew made the day very entertaining and was the icing on the cake.

I was grateful to Cameron, the owner of Happy Tours, for helping us book the tour as a group of 8 (two families). My sister and her family booked the tour before us and Cameron helped me arrange the 8-seater bus so that our two families could travel together. Thank you for that!
The tour guide Drew was a real hoot! He kept us entertained and was flexible enough to add a special stop to see highland cows on our way back to Inverness, as the visibility on Skye wasn't good enough to see the Old Man of Storr that day. We really enjoyed our tour to Skye!
