See the real Glasgow by Bike

By Gallus Pedals
About
We make locals feel like tourists and tourists feel like locals. We are a local tour company specializing in sharing the rich social history of some of the city's most iconic spots. On this tour, we discover some of the hidden gems of Glasgow on our alternative bike tour of the city - and give you the backstory on some spectacular icons. This unique tour takes you on a journey through the gritty streets of some of Scotland's most interesting and evolving neighborhoods. We'll showcase some of our favorite street art along the way and point to examples of the continually emerging but bone fide hipster scene too. As we explore the area, you'll gain insight into the working-class social history of the East End, learning about the people and events that have shaped this diverse and dynamic community. Whether you're a resident or a first-time visitor, this tour offers a unique perspective on Glasgow and an unforgettable experience (for the right reasons too hopefully!)

    Fun & friendly bike tour
Fantastic tour with a really knowledgable, chatty and kind local guide! We’re decent cyclists and in a lot of cities would just hire bikes & guide ourselves, but we had a feeling we’d have a more relaxed experience in Glasgow with a guide, and we were right - Martin knew all the sneaky quiet routes to get us right into the heart of the city! Highly recommended.

    Glasgow Life tour
We had a great time on our bike tour, managed to see parts of Glasgow I’ve never been to before (even though I’m a local), really interesting and informative. It was a perfect activity to do along with my daughter (she’s not hugely confident with cycling but she felt very safe on this route). Thanks Martin.

A great bike tour of the west side of Glasgow
An excellent tour of the west side of Glasgow led by Martin, an engaging and knowledgeable leader, in a fleet of very comfortable refurbished ex Royal Mail bikes. We tracked along the Clyde and up into the West end benefiting from Martin’s knowledge on the way and chatting with fellow tour participants and we went. Far more engaging than a bus tour and you feel good turning those pedals round this great city. It is exclusively on either quiet roads or cycle paths… don’t worry if you are not en experienced cyclist; you will love it !

    Intriguing and Relaxing!
Martin was a wonderful guide- hospitable, knowledgeable, and kind! Our favorite parts of the tour were seeing the university campus and the street art throughout the city. The bikes were very comfortable. Very cool that they used to be used for the post delivery! We fully enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend--especially if you have only 1-2 days in Glasgow, this is a great way to see a lot and learn about the interesting history 😀

    Family Fun Day
Martin was great and tailor made a tour of the city, riverfront and Glasgow University to celebrate our daughter’s 13th birthday. We don’t bike a lot back home, but the bikes were wonderful and easy to ride. We thoroughly enjoyed our day!!!!

    RELAXING AND VERY INTERESTING
Martin is a great guide for a great tour. Glasgow is flat, easy to bike. The bikes used are unique. The City tour includes culture, history, architecture, and mother nature as well. All you need for a great experience. Me and my wife really enjoyed. Maybe because the weather was ideal, sunny but not hot. Miran from Kranj

    Good ride
Martin was very knowledgeable and showed us a great time around Glasgow. Even though the weather didn’t accommodate for a short time, he made sure that we had an opportunity to dry off. I really enjoyed the bicycle tour. I’m in my 60’s and don’t ride a lot but this was very doable and easy.

Martin was an informative, fun, local tour leader for our cycle around the city! I went with my mum and could easily ride the bikes for the couple of hours. Highly recommend for all ages!

Martin is very passionate about Glasgow and its history, that's very apparent in his passion for explaining the stories behind each section, even in the pouring rain. Most people forget that the East End of Glasgow has some hidden gems. I recommend giving Gallus Pedals a try, you even get to ride in a vintage bike (which has its own quirks). Thanks for having us :)

We had an East End tour with Martin on Monday and unfortunately we had typical Glasgow Bank Holiday wet weather. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our cycle and Martin shared with us all sorts of interesting information that the native Glasgewians among us weren't aware of either. Although bikes were available for our use, Martin didn't mind that I chose to ride my own. I would definitely recommend Gallus Pedals

Excellent tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about his city. The bikes we used were great and the route was nice and easy on the legs. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city or for people currently living in Glasgow to find out more about the hidden gems hiding in plain sight! A lovely way to spend a few hours.
