- 97pamb00Not so goodFirst off the bus showed up only 15 minutes before the new time. After standing in the rain looking for the bus, Callum opened the door and told us to give him a minute to get settled as he had just arrived. We waited another couple of minutes in the rain. He was the worst tour guide of our trip. He pointed out a few things, took us to the places we were supposed to go, then back to the ship. The bus itself seemed have very narrow seats and was not comfortable Interestingly, if you click 3 stars or less on the review that is emailed to you, it will tell you to contact them and you are unable to leave a review. - 391kathyb00Great way to see a lot of Scotland highlights and learn its history.Scott was out bus driver and guide. Can’t say enough about him! I learned so much about the area from him. He went out of his way to even squeeze in extra special quick spots. Scot’s great sense of humor, personality and vast knowledge of the area and country’s history made this a fantastic tour!! There was even a young child, possible 5 years old, that had no problem with the all day tour.
- Traveler4089913932100Totally worth it!The trip was awesome! Our guide Callum arrived 15min before our tour started and made sure everyone was present to begin our journey. He explained every historical detail whether we were on the road or making stops at the landmarks. He also made sure that we had time to take photos of the breathtaking landscapes of the Highlands. He always tried to cheer the group by making jokes and was pacient with group members who weren't quite respectful towards the rest of us.
- sindym73100MesmerisingVery difficult to chose one in particular. All had its own beauty. Our driver Andy was knowledgeable, great sense of humour. The views to the countryside and hill were mesmerising. Unfortunately we couldn't get to the castle, it was closed om Tuesday when we went. Oban is like a world away. The food, OMG , if you like sea food get it there fresh from the sea. You can't beat that. I could carry on but what I would say to others, you need to experience it yourself, you won't regret it.
- F7736IGanneb00Beautiful country, terrible guideI was hoping for a lovely time revisiting some places I’d backpacked as a youth and enjoying the highlands. However. My trip was ruined by Andrew, our guide who was a fountain of unsolicited political opinions, frequent discussions about how he apparently disrespects and dislikes his wife, his family’s infertility, how he never goes to the doctor, a description of a school shooting, the phrase “plandemic” like a dozen times, and a lackluster Monty Python impression. Have you ever heard a bad offensive comedian bomb for hours on end? Try this tour and you just might.
- O409QWjohnd00A Journey to Remember! My wife and I had the privilege of embarking on the Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the Highlands Day Trip from Glasgow on July 30, 2023, and let me tell you, it was an adventure that exceeded all my expectations! Although the day began with rain clouds overhead, the magical charm of Scotland soon revealed itself when the sun emerged, illuminating the breathtaking landscapes before our eyes. The views throughout the journey were nothing short of mesmerizing; it felt as if we were wandering through a fairytale, surrounded by lush greenery, majestic mountains, and serene lakes. Loch Ness, in all its mysterious beauty, captivated our imaginations and gave us a sense of awe that is truly indescribable. We were lucky enough to catch glimpses of the legendary creature, Nessie, which added a sense of excitement and wonder to the experience. Our tour guide, Scott, was an absolute gem, making the entire trip even more enjoyable. His humor, extensive knowledge of the region's history, and engaging storytelling breathed life into every location we visited. He expertly provided fascinating anecdotes about the area, enriching our understanding of the local culture and traditions. It felt like we were journeying with a passionate friend rather than a traditional tour guide. The only slight drawback was that Scott also acted as our bus driver. While he managed it professionally, I couldn't help but feel a tad uncertain about the arrangement for safety reasons. A dedicated bus driver would have put my mind at ease and allowed Scott to focus solely on enriching our experience. Nevertheless, it is a minor concern amid the sea of positivity that the trip offered. From the moment we set foot on the bus until the time we returned to Glasgow, everything was exceptional. The tour was well-organized, and we had ample time to explore the different attractions without feeling rushed. Scott's "Scotland" hospitality and attentiveness throughout the journey made us feel welcomed and cared for. The day ended with my heart full of gratitude and awe for the stunning beauty of Scotland's natural wonders and the warmth of its people. I can wholeheartedly recommend this day trip to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable adventure. Rain or shine, you are bound to experience a memorable journey through the picturesque landscapes of Loch Ness, Glencoe, and the Highlands, enriched by an outstanding tour guide named Scott, who will make you fall in love with Scotland all over again.
- wanderlady1100Too long of a drive, not worth itI hate to leave a negative review, but this was so disappointing. A LOT of driving time with very little sightseeing. One 10 min stop and one 15 min stop for 4.5 hours driving one way just to get there. Fort Augustus is charming, but just a small tourist trap. Then right back on the bus. Our guide is friendly and knowledgeable, but was hard to understand and toward the end seemed to have very little energy left himself, while half of us were dozing off. The whole thing was absolutely not worth it - wish I’d spent the day in walking around museums in Glasgow instead.
- seda t00It should be done! :)Although the weather was not on our side. Charlie our driver was excellent and gave out cool information to and from Loch Ness.
- 234lianed00Davy is a hit!!We had a greqt time. Acotland is beautiful and oir driver Davy was all day sharing stories and history about the places we visited. We loved it. 🤎
- vasilijsb202300Another worldVery good introductory tour. A lots of driving and sight seeing. Make you want to see more. For me personally - I like in depth experience and I will definitely be back to do it. Now I know where to go and what to see. Driver had great knowledge of the area and educated us along the way. He also had killer humor. Isle of sky by itself is like a picture - some places are begging to be put in canvas. Breathtaking. Talisker 18 year old whiskey tasting - cant really describe it, really uplifts you. Exceptional high. Sky ferry was great experience - we saw seals. Portree - beautiful small town. If someone is interested there is - Scorrybreac Trail just off to north of the town. Just before the trail to the left there is big 2 level waterfall. Also - Portree Walkway / The Meall and The Lump - there are rabbits there. If you wake up early in the morning there are not to many people in town - it is beautiful and idle peace in the harbor. Something I would recommend to enjoy. People where very chatty and welcoming. Rooms where clean and tidy. I had a great sleep on very comfy bed. Lady we stayed with even offer us to take some of the breakfast with us to the trip - what a great lady she was. I can write very long about the place - it really is another world. People do not lock doors there...
- TravelCaptureRepeat00Scenic all-day outing, worth the moneyScenic and picturesque all-day outing, with plenty of sights to see along the way. A good 2 hours are allotted for Loch Ness, and there’s an option to take a cruise. We were shown plenty of other Lochs as well along the way. Many stops are quick so don’t expect to spent too much time at ALL the spots, as the group needs to stick to time. There is enough time at the key ones. Our guide was lovely, knowledgeable and very conscious of stopping now and then for restroom breaks. Overall had a great time and I felt it was worth it!
- maiapap1800Gorgeous views, cool factsThis was my first stint as a solo traveler, and I had a great time! I was allowed to sit in the front of the bus, and got some of the prettiest views, and learned some cool facts about the highlands. The tour guide, David, was awesome. He was very friendly, had good recommendations, and shared lots of cool experiences he has had all over the UK. People should definitely listen to what the guides have to say (I know some people on my trip certainly didn't) Only thing -- Loch Ness itself is (unsurprisingly) a bit of a tourist trap, and the cruise a little underwhelming. I did learn some cool facts about it though, and it was only 19 GBP. That being said, Glencoe and the Highlands were definitely the highlights of the trip, and I have no regrets. Would recommend!
- Hazey33500See so much in one day tripI joined the 9.15am tour departing from Glasgow on 7th July with your guide/driver Eric. I was impressed from the beginning with Eric's kind and outgoing personality. He wore a kilt and told us about Irn Bru, both of which were subtle but also valuable additions. There are so many other small gestures that Eric did to make us feel at ease which was much appreciated. We stopped off at Loch Lomond where we could go on the cruise £15ish each, or else spend time in a nearby shopping centre. I personally didn't find the cruise part that exciting, but it will not affect this review as it was with a different provider. Then we stopped for lunch at a small village, then proceeded with some photo opportunities with highland cows, scenic views before ending up at Stirling Castle. I personally preferred to look around the city centre instead of going to the castle and I'm glad I had that option. We had around 2 hours to spend in Stirling which was great. The tour was on time throughout and what impressed me was that Eric was both the tour driver and tour guide. I haven't been on many tours where one person would do both roles before. Eric also drove all the way from Edinburgh to give us this tour which was departing from Glasgow. Now commenting on the bus itself - the leather seats are soft and comfortable. It's air-conditioned and the windows are tinted but you can still see clearly outward. I've learnt a lot more about Scotland today than I had expected to. Very pleased. It's a great trip, whether you're a solo traveller, going as a couple or young family. Trying to satisfy big groups must be quite challenging. If attendees are not to worried about what sights to visit and are happy to go with the tour schedule, the range of tours on offer should be perfect. But if you want something more personalized like choosing your own destinations across Scotland, then I appreciate it'll fall under a personalised rather than group tour.
- shirleysI965LN00Highland cooRobert was a fabulous guide. Very informative and knowledgeable. There was historical information mixed with some music along the way. It was very well planned and thought out. We were relaxed and happy as we visited small towns, went on a boat ride, and had plenty of photo opportunities. The mix of driving time versus off bus time was perfect. And who can forget feeding the highland cows with the provided carrots? It was awesome. Would definitely do this tour again. Thank you! Shirley /toni
- g_rkem_35700Enjoyable experienceOur driver Tom was very knowledgeable and take us to some nice extra views. He also informed us about the historical landmarks. It was overall a great experience. I strongly recommend the cruise experience at Loch Lomond (the price was not included in the tour).

This was another great trip provided by Timberbush tours. Our tour guide Davie was very funny and had some excellent information along our tour. I always love seeing the highland mountains in the Glencoe area and to have a bagpiper playing at the three sisters in Glencoe when we made a stop was just priceless. Mallaig was a beautiful town (even in the rain) and we had time to get something to eat and watch the train pull into the station. Davie made sure that we left at the right time so that we could get to see the train over the viaduct and he also pointed out the monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie across the street from the viaduct area. You have a couple of choices to view the train going over the viaduct either below the train or at the top of the viewing area. If you do go up to the viewing area it's a 3 minute walk up a slight slope with protruding rocks so be aware of your footing. If you prefer below the train it's a 15 minute walk to get to the bottom of the viaduct but it looked like it was a paved pathway.

This was a beautiful trip and a great way to spend the whole day, with enough time to still have a good dinner back in Glasgow at the end of the day. Our driver, Andrew, was very funny and very knowledgeable about but Scottish and Glaswegian history. The viaduct was well worth it! I also really enjoyed Mallaig, and could’ve spent another 15 minutes there because I chose to have a lovely sit-down lunch at the Chlachain Inn instead of just takeaway. We popped into the Drover’s Inn at the end, which I’d been to at the end of the Oban/Inverary tour back in 2016 too, which was a welcome treat. Personally I would’ve preferred a smaller coach like I’d had with the Oban tour rather than the full coach for this one, but regardless, I had wonderful conversations with both people in our group and others who were also at the sites. A day well spent and I would go on more tours with Timberland again!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the views as much as we do! This Glenfinnan tour is certainly a great way to see many stunning locations.
We are sorry to hear your Husband felt carsick on tour, the Highland roads are notorious for their twists and turns. We hope that while the bus was stopped he was able to enjoy the stops!
Best wishes,
Ciara

Our trip was guided by Jerry! This tour is a ‘must do’ and I would highly recommend to take it. Jerry showed us around the lochs and breathtaking mountains. You will be spellbound by the beauty of highlands. Glenfinan viaduct is the highlight of the tour! Jerry drove us along the infamous Hogwarts Express and also guided us to the top view of viaduct. I had an amazing time on this tour, with commentary from Jerry on the Scottish history, Facts about Glasgow and soothing music throughout the drive.

Hello!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the Glenfinnan, Mallaig and Glencoe Adventure from Glasgow.
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have the best time on tour with our tour guide Neil, these comments are taken very seriously and I have passed your feedback on to our transport managers to investigate further.
I'm glad that you got some beautiful photos of the Harry Potter train and Glencoe, the locations of both are stunning!

We took the trip via Timberbush. The Highlands is a beautiful area of Scotland and every visitor to the country should see it.
This was not a large group tour (that's good), but a group of 19 or 20. We made numerous stops along the way and viewed gorgeous scenery.
The trip could have been improved if there was a tour guide who provided more information about history and etc, along the way. The driver was great (I think he name was Callum--probably the wrong spelling) and he provided some information. He has to concentrate on driving over the narrow roads, so he should not be required to provide frequent scene information. Even without that feature, however, the trip was highly enjoyable and worth the small price.
Being able to see the steam train up close in one of the stops and then later in the trip while it traveled over antique bridge was fun.

Hi there, thank you for your review!
I'm happy to hear that you really enjoyed the tour and felt it to be worth the price. It's a beautiful part of Scotland and it's great to be able to see the steam train in person. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed having Callum as your driver-guide as well, on some of our larger tours departing from Edinburgh we do have a guide and a driver, but unfortunately not on this one. I'm glad that this didn't spoil your experience though and hopefully we will see you again!
All the best,
David

The tour operator cancelled tour at night prior to the tour with excuse "your tour has been cancelled as a result of operational issues".
Another operator (Rabbies) didn't have any issues, and we went with them on another day to Oban and Glencoe

Hi there, Slava. Thank you for leaving your feedback.
Unfortunately, being a company that relies on both coaches and drivers, from time to time, we are unable to run a tour and often we may not know about this until nearer the time of the tour. In this instance, I'm sorry to hear that your tour was cancelled. You would have been offered a different tour that day, the same tour on a different day, or a full refund in this situation, so I'm sorry if none of these options were suitably pleasing for you.
All the best,
David

That's a good question. There were kids on the tour but they were 8 or 9 years old I believe. You'd have to check with Timberbush Tours for the age requirements on their website. Sorry I couldn't help any further.
