- marnelson2200Morning with Stewart and the Kelpies! What a wonderful, informative and fun day we spent with Stewart at the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. What a treat to have a taste of Irn bru as we traveled over the Scottish roadways! We never felt rushed and the photo ops provided great memories of this experience. I brought a Sunday Today Show mug with me to take pictures... Stewart was excited to get in the act!
- bcjo00Excellent Scenic Tour to Loch Lomond & InveraryOur group of 4 thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Stewart. He is personable & truly loves Scotland and all the sites we visited, which made it more enjoyable. We visited the picturesque village of Luss, Parish church & old graveyard on Loch Lomond, including a Viking grave. Very scenic drive through Argyll Forest, Trossachs National Park, Rest & be Thankful viewpoint, and on to the town of Inverary on Loch Fyne, and Inverary Castle. Beautiful castle & gardens and great place for a drink and lunch. We enjoyed more beautiful Scottish scenery on the drive to Dunoon where we took a ferry to Greenock, to meet our cruise ship. An awesome day and we highly recommend Stewart as a tour guide and to share his love for Scotland.
- N9421TEannew00A Visit to the Kelpies and Falkirk WheelWe had time before the start of our Scotland tour, so we researched options and saw the great reviews for Tartan Tours. We were not disappointed. Stewart was the best introduction we could have asked for to the lovely people and interesting sites near Glasgow. I would highly recommend him as a guide for your touring needs. He told us about many set tours and let us know he can also cater to your needs. Thanks Stewart for an lovely start to our trip.
- KariJ25600Wonderful day in ScotlandStewart was a wonderful guide. He was very guide at recommending things to see as the day went on. My family was from the area and he was able to show us some areas of importance.
- karynw36300Fantastic tour! Highly recommend!Stewart did an amazing job! He took us an exploration of Robert the Bruce and was a fountain of knowledge. He is also very personable and was caring toward each member of the family (ages 12-73!). He made sure everyone was having a good time, understood what we were seeing and comfortable. I highly recommend this tour and plan to book another one when we return to Scotland!
- SharonN70000Amazing custom tour!Stuart was amazing from first contact online thru our tour! I arranged a private tour with him to 3 castles in Outlander for my husband and I when our cruise ship stopped in Scotland 1 day. He created a timeline and itinerary specific for our ships times. My husband had no knowledge of Outlander before this and loved Stuart and truly enjoyed the whole day! Stuart even introduced us to a local Scottish beverage and had snacks for us for the day. He was a true pleasure and made our day in Scotland remarkable. I would highly recommend him- you will not be disappointed!
- markandjudy201500Outstanding Day Trip From Edinburgh! This is an outstanding day trip from Edinburgh!! The Old City is great, but here you will see fantastic examples of "modern" Scotland. The Kelpies are beautiful 30-meter high stainless steel sculptures, artistically moving and technologically astounding. The Falkirk Wheel has to be seen in person to be experienced (we first saw it on a TV travel show). A Ferris wheel for boats, it is an amazing engineering wonder, yet based on an ancient principle (you will learn all about it when you ride it). And, it is a ton of fun! You'll also tour the 500-year old Linlithgow Palace, set in the beautiful Scottish countryside. Now, a few words about Stewart, the owner/operator. He is entirely trustworthy and reliable. We booked this tour and sent a deposit before the pandemic. Three years later, he remembered us and honored the deposit. He was punctual and his timing was perfect, to both see the wheel in action and ride it. He knows his topics and history. Plus, he is a very nice guy with a sunny disposition who truly enjoys his work! This private tour is well worth the money!
- Mollysslave00Great start to a visit to ScotlandWhen I signed up for this tour, it was the Falkirk Wheel I was interested in, and the Kelpies not at all. But I loved both parts of this trip, and Stewart was a wonderful guide, very friendly and easy to get along with, and very knowledgable. The Kelpies really are magnificent when you see them in person. It seems to be a trend for me that I end up really liking the part of a trip that I was not too pscyed about. I've just returned from Scotland, and the day we spent with Stewart was one of the best days of our two week trip.
- mell0ryr00KelpiesThree Words - Absolutely Stunning Structures. Most amazing steel structures, Highly recommend the trip to visit.
- Jennifer P00Amazing tour of GreenockStewart planned and provided an amazing private tour of Greenock for us. Our Grandmother had been raised and emigrated from there to Canada. He had done amazing research to show us where our ancestors house were, where my Grandmother would have walked and what she would have see. He also found my Great Grandparents grave and other family members. It was a phenomenal day!
- Camper74915400An absolute Must! What a wonderful time my cousin and I had as Stewart as our guide. Authentic, knowledgeable, passionate, and very personable. It is great to be with someone who not only loves his culture and history of Scotland, but shares it in a way where you feel you are back in time envisioning all the stories. We are already planning our next adventure to Scotland with Stewart as our guide once again! Thank you Stewart for your passion and sense of humor. It was truly a blessing to meet you and to leave not only as customers, but as friends! Many Blessings! …Heidi
- 669vickiep00See the Real ScotlandIf you want to see the “ Real Scotland” you must book one of the many tours Tartan Tours has to offer. Stewart masterfully crafted our four day Scottish tour based on our interests. He was able to curate a trip of a lifetime , keeping in mind my love of small villages, castles and picturesque landscapes and my cousin’s love for William Wallace and Robert Bruce. We were able to see so many beautiful and historic sites in our limited time in Scotland. Prior to the trip Stewart was a pleasure to work with, I was able to communicate my dietary needs( vegetarian and gluten free) and he did some preplanning to scope out restaurants near the hotel where I would be able to find food options. From the moment Stewart picked us up at the airport to the moment he dropped us off at our hotel back in the city for the end of last leg of our vacation, Stewart was warm, welcoming, patient and attentive. He greeted us enthusiastically each morning he picked us up in his comfortable vehicle, with a personalized snack and water waiting for us, and ensured we had reservations for dinner each evening. The tour package we purchased included lodging and breakfast at the Spinnaker Hotel. The lodging and hospitality was unsurpassed and the views of the River Clyde from the hotel were breathtaking. This was truly an experience I will always remember.
- Roving3925935807000Tartan Tours Scotland/Viator —Stewart G. Outlander TourOur personal tour of Doune Castle, Blackness Castle, and Midhope Castle was absolutely charming and everything I had hoped for in touring the Outlander filming sites. Stewart, our guide, was amazing at pointing out historical facts and discussing Outlander storylines at each destination. He was kind enough to take pictures for our family so we would have quality photos of our trip. I fan-girled pretty hard at Midhope Castle (Lalybroch site) and could not get enough of the natural landscape of the outlying areas. For anyone that is a hardcore Outlander fan, this is definitely what you are looking for to have the ultimate Outlander experience.
- hawaiigirl01400Most Iconic Robert the Bruce TourThis tour was phenomenal! Stewart is so friendly and so full of knowledge of Scotlands history and takes time to answer all of your questions! He really goes above and beyond for these tours doing everything possible to make your tour an experience of a lifetime, with memories and stories of history to carry with you forever! These tour’s really take you off the beaten tourist path and into the heart of Scottish history. I would definitely recommend doing a tour with Stewart! It is well worth the money!
- Sujata41000Must visit while in Scotland!Excellent day trip with Stewart for our party of 3 people. Stewart's a true professional - from the initial communication through the conduct of the tour, we felt well-looked after. His knowledge and expertise meant that we could sit back and just enjoy the tour as he'd organized everything including the tickets for the Falkirk wheel boat.
