A great, fun and wholesome experience every time ! I was fortunate enough to go on the Red Bus Bistro twice last year. First for the gin afternoon tea with my family and then again for the pizza and Prosecco evening with my boyfriend for a date night. Both trips were great fun, the bus itself is decorated beautifully and staff were very friendly and attentive. We were given the opportunity to stop mid tour for photos (see attached photos). By this point my family and I had enjoyed a couple of Prosecco's and were socialising with other guests on the bus. Everyone was in high spirits and having a wonderful time.
We passed several Glaswegian landmarks whilst we enjoyed the delicious sandwiches and cakes. The food was fresh and the afternoon tea set up looked so lovely I barely wanted to eat it to ruin how pretty it looked.
At the end of the tour we were given the chance to purchase Red Bus Bistro vouchers at a discounted price, we bought 5 vouchers (each for 2 guests) and we are planning on going on another gin tour this July !
We can't wait !
If you are looking for something different, quirky and fun to do in Glasgow I would highly recommend this tour.
It also makes for a fantastic gift !

Purchased voucher for Mother's Day in March. We joined yesterday as a party of 4. A lovely experience and was great to drive around Glasgow. You think you know Glasgow but once on the bus it takes you to places you haven't been in ages. Afternoon Tea was great. Choice of sandwhiches could have been better and the plastic cups for tea and coffee were of course required but both my mums worried who has used them first. I am sure they are cleaned but just a side not unusual to use a cup with a lid that someone has used before. We used the QR code on the side of the bus to order additional drinks. These did not come, and we had to ask for them as we had already paid via the app. My only tip is the bus is an old bus which does add to the character of the whole experience, but it is very tight for two normal sized people to share. Thanks, again for a lovely day

I had the most splendid time having afternoon tea with Red Bus Bistro on a beautiful spring afternoon. I was greeted very kindly by our driver and co-owner Stewart at the starting point on Shuttle Street. I went with a dear friend, and the food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed how varied it was in savoury and sweet, and the quantity was perfect. I do not drink, and the staff was very accommodating and made me a mocktail- which was very tasty. There was plenty of tea and coffee, and a wide selection of drinks available. The staff was incredibly friendly, warm, and sociable. I have not lived in Glasgow long, and this was a fun way to get toured around the city. This was such a unique and unforgettable experience that I would definitely recommend to those local and new to the city! A fantastic way to spend an afternoon catching up with a friend and venturing throughout the city in such a fun and welcoming environment! Thank you, Red Bus and staff, for a lovely tour!

Dear Admin,

I wish to give feedback on my experience on Friday for the Glasgow bus. The bus itself was great but the afternoon tea was disappointing, due to food being very dry, I ordered a vegan one and this k it was vegetarian ( the girl I think does not know the difference). In addition there was not any commentary on, where we were in the city on the tour. My guest knew where we were ( I didn’t ) but there was a group of tourists on the bus so bad show for them. I would not have been happy if I was a tourist. It seems they discovered the microphone wasn't working that morning so could not speak people through the tour. We were all upstairs so it would have been possible to still speak to passengers without microphone but it didn't happen nor did they have a back up like a tape or recording they could have used. These tours are not cheap so sadly would not recommend it to anyone and hugely disappointed .

This trip was a surprise anniversary gift made through Red letter Days. The company cancelled the first booking we made so we had to rebook. The pick-up point (Shuttle Street in Glasgow) is given on their email as their address but there was nothing except a short-term bus stand to identify them. They declined to answer my call to try to confirm the arrangements or respond to the message I left.

Some other passengers, and the bus itself, eventually showed up. The person in charge (Alison) said we would have to wait until preparations were completed. She then launched into a long apology about shortage of staff, the lockdown, the fact that the hot food was delayed on the M8, and hoped we didn't think that they didn't know what they were doing.

Further delay was caused by one couple declining to share their table with another couple who were waiting. The matter was only resolved by a third couple offering to make space on their own table, and we finally got under way.

The quality of the food provided was just about adequate. The tea and coffee (instant) was unpleasant. The first glass of prosecco was ok, but subsequent refills had not been chilled at all. Some croissants and scones (cold) eventually turned up. I don't know where they came from but the croissants fell to bits and the scones were covered in cheese which made an odd combination with jam.

As regards the tour itself, the view out of the windows was obscured by some weird fronds of plastic vegetation. No route map was provided. The commentary was rudimentary at best, and the attempts of a fellow passenger ( who knew the city) to point out various landmarks to us were drowned out by noisy pop music and the efforts of another staff member to engage the passengers in some raucous community singing. The most interesting part of the tour was the comfort stop at the transport museum, and in point of fact it would have made little difference if the bus had simply gone round in a random circle, or not moved at all.

Other reviewers have noted that the staff were friendly and welcoming, which is true enough, but our impression is that they had simply turned up on the day to lend a hand. The company needs to be clear about the product it is offering, and set about delivering it, rather than offering constant apologies.

This was a very strange trip. Not what was expected. I was with my mum and 2 sisters. My mum and older sister have mobility problems so we had to sit downstairs. The party was up the stairs and they were obviously having a ball!! We were 3 tables downstairs (with all the immobile 80 year olds) and really not much partying. We did try to have a sing song and the staff were very nice but I would definitely NOT recommend this trip if you end up sitting downstairs. Totally different experience. Food was sandwiches and some Mr Kipling cakes. cold tea and terrible coffee but my mum did enjoy her gin!!

There was no commentary about Glasgow which might have been appreciated …downstairs anyway !!!

Please don't waste your money on this. The communication between staff members was non- existent. We pre-ordered cocktails when booking tickets and had to chase these up three times. One staff member stated it was only rhubarb and ginger gin available the next said it was a choice of raspberry or rhubarb and ginger. Despite asking for one of each only the rhubarb arrive, followed by a further twenty minute wait for the raspberry after asking again. The food was mediocre at best, it certainly did not look homemade. Bottle of prosecco was £20.00 and was aldis own which costs £5 to buy. Cleanliness of the bus was nothing short of abysmal, the cutlery was dirty and there was food on the table. Not once did we receive an apology from the staff, incredibly poor customer service. Given the amount of money this cost I would have expected a lot more with regards to service, the quality of food and drinks. There are lots of lovely places to have homemade afternoon tea in and around Glasgow. Please don't waste your money here as it is not a tour, they claim it is a 'dining experience'.

The afternoon tea was a disappointment. After booking a vegan afternoon tea and the booking being confirmed twice, no vegan sweet treats were available. My companion was served a vegan sandwich and a roll which did not look appetising. My afternoon sweet treats look like they had been defrosted from an Iceland variety party pack. The only redeeming quality was the scone. Highly disappointing and it wasn’t cheap either The quality of the tea ruined the experience. Company did not reply to email hence the negative review on here.

Extremely disappointed, glass of Prosecco on arrival but no non alcoholic alternative offered, my husband was driving. Not offered tea/coffee for 45mins by which point most people had eaten food, it was look warm and certainly no refills. The food left a lot to be desired, per person received a tiny quiche, two sandwiches basically 1 slice of bread don’t know what was meant to be on them, basically a coleslaw sandwich that was definitely all I could see or taste, the mini roll was ok, think it was coronation chicken, scone ok as where two mini cakes. Could have had better food out of supermarket sandwich counter.

The bus route did not take in any of expected sights, girl only pointed out two things George Square and Tollbooth, no where near art gallery or university unless you count backstreet student accommodation.

My mum and I done this tour a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it so decided to do it again. I must say firstly, the customer service leading up to our tour was just fantastic. I had to email in about a couple of things and was always answered promptly and in a friendly manner by Cara. Nothing was any bother at all and I really appreciated her being so accommodating. We paid the extra £6 each for the front seats again as we really loved sitting there the last time. The tour itself was just faultless. The cakes and sandwiches were beautifully presented and delicious, the staff were attentive and so friendly and there was such a great atmosphere on board. We live in Glasgow City Centre so know it really well but as I said to mum, it was so nice to sit back and see our beautiful city through a tourists eyes. Such fun being driven about whilst enjoying the lovely treats. All in all, we had a fantastic time and I'd recommend this to anyone who's looking to do something different.
