- paulahmayer00Enjoyed the trip.Great tour guide, helpful and knowledgeable. Seemed like a long time in the bus but enjoyed the stops. A lot of history provided. Also enjoyed the audio selections played during the drive.
- Dale S00Fantastic, great tripNatalie was our driver and tour guide she was very informative the area love Scotland trip was very informative. We enjoyed it and would recommend it.
- Roy L00Oban and the highlandsBillie was our driver and he did an amazing job. The entire tour was informative and amazingly beautiful. We only had time for a 1 day tour this time, but would love to do a longer tour in the future.
- 983luzelenac00Awesome introduction to the highlands, great views, enough time for pictures, great local food and whiskeyNatalie was awesome, great energy, and stories. She gave us enough time for pictures, lunch recommendations were awesome, the natural views were incredible...
- ZellieReeve00Amazing!Our driver, Cameron, was the best! He provided outstanding information on the history of Scotland with a great sense of humor. He is a talented and entertaining story teller, extremely knowledgeable about the era as well as other pertinent facts. The smaller busses were much better, in my opinion, and the coach was clean and well maintained. The only thing that wasn’t great was the main bus station where we were picked up…not the fault of the tour company just a bit too much overall confusion. I highly recommend Rabbie’s, The Outlander Adventure Day Tour from Glasgow, and most especially Cameron!
- 2trvel00Great Overview of the RegionThis is a great quick introduction to the region in all its marvelous variety, including Loch Lomond, Oban, Glencoe and many points in between. And Cameron was a marvelous guide: He was knowledgeable, charming, good humored, and enthusiastic. As a former park ranger, he has exceptional knowledge of and interest in how the national parks are managed, the environmental impact of development, and the local flora and fauna. He went out of his way several times to stop for some place of interest not on the tour that he thought we'd appreciate. It is a long day - 10+ hours - and the weather is unpredictable so be prepared: you can safely leave things on the bus. There are plenty of stops for bathrooms and coffee/tea, leg stretching, and some independent exploration in Oban (where lunch is on your own) - but the schedule is quite tight and you'll need to keep careful track of time. (A tip: We had very good seafood at the EE-USK restaurant in Oban, located right on the pier.)
- 512divines00Fandabbydosey!Had a whale of a time on this new tour that featured a diverse range of experiences from the uniquely triangular Caerlaverock Castle to the beckoning beaches of the Solway Coast, ethereal forests, rolling flower festooned countryside and breath taking cliffs culminating in the Mull of Galloway lighthouse, where climbing to the top, the sea views were spectacular with the added bonus later of seeing a white tailed eagle! The tour was well planned with plenty of breaks (if needed) allowing enough time to enjoy a lobster lunch in picturesque Portpatrick and an unhurried, relaxing evening in quaint Gatehouse of Fleet. Big on personality, charmingly witty and keenly imparting his knowledge of Scottish culture was our Rabbies guide Alistair, a true Scottish warrior-poet who kept time on this busy schedule while driving us safely, piping in some well chosen modern Scottish folk rock that only added to the atmosphere of a landscape that was reminiscent in some places of Cornwall whilst elsewhere, the Cotswolds, but always ever truly Scotland. With deer, waterfalls and Moffat toffee chucked in for good measure, we even spotted some hairy coos (which are not commonplace in this dairy region) as we drove out of Kircoobree following a short rest room stop. When we finally rolled back into Glasgow, it felt like we had been away a week despite the trip being only 2 days, a true testimony to this stunning but often overlooked region of Scotland, so I’m really glad I chose Rabbies!
- jeano29000Fun adventure to Loch Ness! The guide (Gary) was informative and fun to listen to. Set the schedule without being pushy or abrupt as I have experienced in the past. Great time!
- Y3889PIjv00Awesome experience.Awesome tour with a smaller sized group. Guide was awesome about knowing some places with less people and lots of great history. Would highly recommend as a day trip to see a good chunk of the highlands and lowlands! It was about 11 hours and 300 milea, but we saw so much on the way to and from ft Augustus.
- sarahTowers00Best day for the outlander trip!As avid outlander fans me and my friend decided to get the train to Glasgow to join this tour. It did not disappoint! A large part of this was due to our tour guide ‘grrrraham from Glasgow’ he was so so knowledgable (and you could tell he was so passionate about Scottish history) friendly and funny!!! He made everyone laugh whilst also educating us with so many interesting facts! The tour itinerary was perfect and the places we saw were beautiful (lallybroch being our favourite as outlander fans haha) and blackness castle was beautiful also! Had a thoroughly enjoyable day and would definitely use rabbies (and Graham!) again!
- bencI4506NP00Informative and well organisedExcellent tour that was well organised and made the most of the available time. Tom was an informative tour guide and driver. The Western Highlands are stunning and easily accessible from Glasgow
- F1063ZUmichaell00Loch Lomond land Whisky TourJames was an excellent tour guide, providing history of the area as well as back background of the stops. James was exceptionally knowledgeable and was able to provide that knowledge in an easy to understand way, without being condescending.
- Janetsouthoffrance00What an amazing day!Fantastic tour! Cameron was the perfect guide blending history, culture, and humor, plus fun music.
- abdurr201600Magical experienceWe booked it at the last minute. We hesitated if it would be a good Day_tour. But we were very surprised and enjoyed enormously. Again our special thanks to Cameron (The tour guide). This gentleman is THE example how a tour guide should be. Greetings from Belgium 🇧🇪🍻
- Navigator3400879902600Good experienceTom was amazing with his commentary during the trip.. love the views .. had stops at good places. Really like it.

DO IT, you will NOT REGRET IT.
We have 3 fantastic days with STEWART which was an absolute joy of a guide. He made everyone of the group to feel included and engaged with everyone of us. It really felt as if we were a group of friends travelling to SKye.
If you have little time of SCOTLAND, by doing this tour you can avoid doing extra large day tours, as you see skye, you see glencoe, loch lochmond, loch ness and the scenary is spectacular. This tour will show you that paying a little bit more is 150% worth it because if you drive you cannot enjoy the scenary the same way :). A LIFE TIME EXPERIENCE.

Only one adjective is enough to describe this experience: excellent! It's the best tour I've ever done in my life. Everything was perfect: the organization, the places visited, the comfortable minibus and the guide. Cameron, in addition to being a very punctual driver, was our history teacher, dj, entertainer with a great culture and sense of humor. In short only one adjective: excellent!

It's an excellent tour, our guide, Peter is very knowledgeable, energetic and compassionate.
Since it was wintertime, we didn't have a lot of daylight, but we have been lucky with the either and still managed to see some very interesting places and breathtaking landscapes. Peter doesn't only stick to the schedule. He is also flexible upon our request and weather.
Highly recommend this tour.

We had a great tour . Our tour guide Peter was friendly and very informative. We were also impressed w/ his driving skills . We encountered some severe weather w/ flooded roads and very high winds. Peter had no problem and transported us safely around the Isle of Skye . We enjoyed all the sights and wouldn’t change a thing . Highly recommend!

Most amazing time on this tour. Small group, only 10 of us. The best and I mean the BEST tour guide Peter. I do not know his last name but he was awesome. The music, the narrated history ( Peter was quite and impressive historian) , the absolute maginficance of Skye and the Highlands. Each stop we made was perfect ( I was born in Glasgow) so this was not my first trip back. Skye is beauty beyond imagine. This tour met all my expectations and then some. Our B and B was perfect ( Dalriada Guest House), the hosts were amazing, the room was immaculate and the food and afternoon deserts were perfect. Thanks to all for making.my trip a dream vacation. I will definately use Rabbis again! anne-marie purtill

Very enjoyable tour. As a solo traveller on thos tour, I wasnt feel awkward or bored at all. Our your guide Ben has great knowledge about the regions and share a lot of interesting stories with us. The weather wasnt the greatest but Ben will add in extra effort to make sure we get to see the nice landscape and sceneies of Isle of Skye. The accomodation organised by Rabbie (Woodlands Guest house) was great. Clean and tidy.
DEfinitely recommended the tour.

I live in Glasgow but hadn't made it up to Skye, and when a friend came to town it was the perfect opportunity. It isn't just Skye: the trips up and back down cover some absolutely stunning parts of the mainland that are hard to access without a car. We saw so many gorgeous areas and made some amazing memories.
Our tour guide, Cameron, was fantastic. He is clearly extremely passionate about what he does and his past work as a park ranger shines through when he points out the local flora and fauna. He made the best choices for the weather and traffic as it changed and was candid about why he made each change and really kept us in the loop. He packed SO much into each day without it feeling rushed- we still had plenty of time for photos, and there were well-spaced comfort breaks along the way. Beyond the logistics, he made every topic sound so fascinating, and was very funny (especially the terrible dad jokes). You can tell that he really enjoys getting to know the people on his tours, and he tries to accommodate the things that everyone is really excited about.
The accommodations Rabbie's booked for us in Portree was comfortable and really close to town. They recommended booking ahead of time for meals and DEFINITELY do that: Portree has a lot of people looking for meals around the same time and there aren't a lot of restaurants available, so it's very busy. My favourite booking was at The Rosedale Hotel. As for the stops, there is enough time to take a light hike at almost every stop (or to simply enjoy the view if you don't feel like a hike).

Hi may I ask if the 3 day tour is available from 1-3 July 2019? Thanks!

This information is easy to find on the rabbies site...
I'm assuming you're asking about the 3-day tour to Skye from Glasgow...
A lot of the June dates show already sold out, but all the July ones are still showing available-- there is one departing July 1, and another departing July 3.
Book as early as you can, as the summer dates especially fill up quickly. Even in March, our tour bus was full with tourists from all over the world!

I didn't have questions before booking this tour but it was fabulous. Our B&B was lovely with great food and accommodations. Alan, our tour guide, was a delight. He was very knowledgeable and even included music to go along with the places we visited. I can't help but think Rabbie's would answer any questions you might have. I highly recommend it.

Hi, what is the estimated time of return to Glasgow?
Jeanie S
Sonoma, CA56 contributions
P.S. I wanted to add that the tour guides on all three of our tours had stories of people making plane reservations for, say, a 7:30 takeoff from Glasgow airport following a tour-- and there's NO WAY the tour could guarantee return in time to make it to the airport... So the guides all checked in with us at the START of the tour to make sure no one had made such plans-- the return times are a "best guess," but not hard and fast. You want to just enjoy the tour, and not feel pressured to return by a certain time-- you'll just stress yourself out (and make the other tour participants uncomfortable too!).

You have choice of hotels and stay there as base for 2 nights ( We were at the Rosedale Hotel and loved it. . Our hotel overlooked the bay and was wonderful. Many of restaurants don’t have reservations The Lower Deck restaurant is right by Rosedale on bay and you wait in line. Great seafood. Cullen Skink was absolutely delicious We checked into hotel and waited inline for table

Is smoking allowed in the van? Is there any way to get a no-smoking tour?
Jeanie S
Sonoma, CA56 contributions
No smoking in the van! And the few people on our tour who did smoke (including my husband) were very considerate of others when we made stops-- only smoking in designated areas or far from the main areas. I'm not a smoker, either, and it was no issue.
My husband and I are traveling for 2 weeks and will each have a 50lb (23kg) luggage and carry on bag. Is there any exceptions to the luggage restrictions for this tour?

We left our large luggage at train station one block from pick up without any issue. Very convenient. And carry on was more practical for carrying up to room on island
