- katien18400A great time!We had a wonderful whisky tasting experience with Padge. He was a great storyteller and very informative. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to learn about regional differences among the whisky while having a fabulous time drinking and chatting in a unique space. 10/10!
- BigRed72300Excellent Whisky TastingJames the host made a the experience with great knowledge of whisky and fun, humorous storytelling. He had many whisky options for the beginner to the connoisseur, with no judgement on how you like your dram. Each person scheduled during my time slot had different likes, and James tending to us all. The underground hidden underground close (alley) made it that much more of an experience. A must try!!
- P6255VFrichardc00Luxury ScotchWe really did taste Luxury Scotch in a truly old cellar/vault. The host, Mark, was very informative and answered any questions - but - I have a few suggestions. My wife and I took several sips to try to gain full appreciation of each Scotch, but in the end had no more water as we were retasting again. I believe they should have more or a larger container of water there to keep the process going. Also, we were introduced to a proper tasting glass, and since they had so many of them available, they should have offered them for sale or charged more and gave each participate one.
- adampK7966YQ00A lot of funWe did the Introduction to whiskey with Sarah. It was a lot of fun. It was in a group of 8 people, which was a good size. Sarah was very amimated and she seemed very knowledgeable about whiskey. I would definitely recommend this.
- Seaside30772000Luxury tastingCorky and fun. You try five different whisky’s that you probably won’t try again in your lifetime. Our guide Paige was entertaining and the opposite of dry. It was over an hour so don’t be in a rush! The late night tasting was a perfect way to end our night.
- BKGTrips00An amazing scotch tasting experience. This was a wonderful experience! My husband who is a self proclaimed scotch aficionado - loved it. Sara was a wonderful guide and went toe to toe with my husband trading knowledge. No lie, when you get there you wonder what you have gotten yourself into but it’s totally worth it.
- KCfromSunshineState00Wonderful WhiskyMy mom and I learned so much about whisky and really enjoyed the tasting portion of the experience. The setting is fantastic - an old, old bank vault many feet below ground - and makes it all that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend it!
- Simon R00Whisky funGreat guide great whisky and an awesome insight in each region Great fun A wonderful selection offered an would recommend to do
- Cole M00Great Experience!James was a great host...loved hearing about the history of the building and area and the "Lost Close" was discovered. What a great way to try different local beers and learn about the local breweries. Fun Night!
- Kristen D00Highly recommended this new experience, one of a kind!! Break away from whisky and beer for a moment. This is an experience you do not want to miss! It was a wonderful surprise, we did not know what to expect. After checking in, we were given a brief history of the building and began walking to the underground. There was a beautiful space created and to our surprise we were the only two booked! Private experience, excellent host, and brilliant drinks with proper mixer included. I loved all the history and stories! Cozy, well informed, and I would highly recommend!!
- abw12300Gripping, serious, eye-opening review of dark side of historyAn educational and mind-bending visit to the real lives of real women unjustly and vindictively accused of witchcraft - and the awful consequences they suffered. The talented storyteller tells tales steeped in research in a mesmerizing way. This isn't a silly presentation about broomsticks; this is tragic history, told with empathy and drama. Very well done.
- P1721NBkenc00Nice !A knowledgeable host and some nice whiskies to try. A very nice setting in which to do it too. It was a bit odd that the basic, intermediary and high end tastings were all at the same time, so we all didn't taste and compare the same things. Enjoyable though and I’d certainly recommend it.
- 801kamih00Go for the good stuff!!Amazing tasting in the cool underground space. Great info on the whiskies and the areas. We tasted rare finds, some that retail at over $250, and the experience was well worth it!!!
- Lauren L00Sara was a wonderful guide!Sara was a wonderful whisky guide! She was very knowledgeable as a guide to teach us all about the history of whisky and answer any other questions for us and share more stories. Would absolutely recommend this as a night cap tour.
- V2059JVsaraa00Fantastic experience to learn about Edinburgh's dark history with witchcraftThis was such an amazing, immersive experience to learn more about just how many women in Edinburgh were condemned and sentenced to death for "witchcraft." Natalie got to the heart of what happened to many innocent women in the 1500 and 1600s, who were subject to social ridicule, extreme torture, and ultimately death, for no good reason other than the whims of men in power. She helped us get into the minds of individual women who were condemned as witches, so we could understand that these were real people who were being executed, not just nameless, faceless numbers. Folks like us, in a different time. Such a great experience. Would 1000% recommend for anyone who wants to take an honest look into Edinburgh's dark past.

Excellent and informative tour which provided interesting insights into both the history of Edinburgh itself and the coffee trade here.
Our guide James was unreal. He was not only engaging and fun, but was also willing to answer any questions we had throughout.
Thanks very much for all your work James!

James is really enthusiastic and leads a very relaxed tour giving lots of information about the history of coffee in Scotland and beyond, and how you can trace the roots of coffee in Edinburgh.
The tour really is excellent value for money, and although it doesn't cover far in terms of route, it takes you on a real journey through time. I'd highly recommend, especially if you want to take it easy for a morning of your holiday.

Walking around town, with an included coffee, and learning about the origins of coffee in Europe, was amazing. Our tour guide was so knowledgable and spoke about how coffee made it's way to Scotland. Plus some fun stories and bits of Edinburgh.

Had a great time on this amazing tour! Ross was my tour guide, and he made it such a good experience. I was the only person who had booked a tour on the day I went, so I essentially had this amazing tour guide all to myself! Good jokes, loads of interesting facts, nice coffee, and a great time overall. Thank you so much, Ross! :D #SaveBilly

Brilliant tour with the very knowledgable and engaging James. We learnt so much about this hidden gem which is right in the centre of town. Great walking section outside, excellent second half in the Lost Close itself which is fascinating. And a wonderful cup of coffee halfway through! Even locals will learn something new.

This tour was a great way to learn the history of coffee in the area and see some cool underground tunnels. I was honestly surprised by how much information and detail was on the tour vs. the low price. This tour is perfect for people who love food history.

The History of Coffee tour is definitely one of my favourites to do, and I'm glad you enjoyed it too! Looking into the history of it all is full of surprises, and there's too much to cram into just 90 minutes, but I do try :D Hope to see you again in the future.
