    Good for tweens!
The tour guide was funny and accessible and made an effort to engage my 12 year old. It was her favorite part of the trip. We loved the Harry Potter and history of Edinburgh as part of the tour.

Harry Potter fans you MUST do this!
A must do if in London if you're a Harry Potter fan! Not only do you visit filming locations, but our amazing guide pointed out key tourist hot spots and gave some history as well. Our guide Insia was so lovely, came complete with a Hagrid inspired coat making her easy to spot, and chatted to my 7 year old the entire time. 100% recommend this tour!

    Great Adventure
The tour was great and it gave me a better idea of where things are in the city. Benjamin was an amazing tour guide. I will recommend him to family and friends when they come to Edinburgh.

    Harry Potter tour in Edinburgh
This was very informative and a fun walking tour. We had no idea that J. K. Rowling spent so much time in Edinburgh as she forged her imagination with the Harry Potter books. Our guide Kirsty did a very nice job.

Excellent experience and brilliant tour by Johnny. The weather allowed us to see the best of the city and the castle. The Harry Potter tour took us an hour and a half and we seen loads of the city as part of it.

    Waste of time and money
This is in no way against the tour guide as a person, but she is really in the wrong job, unenthusiastic tour guide, rushed tour which was stated would end early at the beginning and throughout the tour. Stating, we have to do 2 hour tour and photo because management say so. Poor knowledge, made reference to us googling images, unable to answer question. A lot of 'I thinks' or 'don't knows' Rushed in and out of the museum to see items that may or may not have had connection to the author. Difficult to follow on foot, or hear when speaking. I jealously listened to other tour guides as they were getting a much better experience, and could hear what they were saying. Constant reference to those with castle tickets may want to leave the tour early. With the most unenthusiastic early tour end when she actually said, 'well I have run out of things to tell you' I had to leave when asked if we knew which direction to get to the castle, then proceeded to google map it to tell us. Complete waste of money

    Not what I expected
I dont like to leave a bad review, but I was pretty disappointed with this tour. I was hoping for some magical adventure of a day exploring all the Harry Potter inspiration points and found myself bored and wondering when it would be over and what the heck some of the topics had to do with Harry Potter at all. Our group agreed that we should have skipped the tour and found the sights ourselves. It would have taken a lot less time and certainly a lot less money. Absolutely NOT worth $75.

    Lovely tour of magical Edinburgh
Excellent tour of Edinburgh, and Kirsty was personable and knowledgeable. We saw much of Edinburgh locations that inspired the HP franchise and more. My family enjoyed it very much.

    Do not recommend
Overall it was not what was expected. Even though our tour guide Benjamin was a nice person, the tour was poorly done. Half the time we were trying to keep up with him because he was moving too fast from spot to spot, we could barely look at stuff around us. The other time we could barely hear him over the weather and cars, depending on the spots that we were lead too. Overall I would not recommend this tour as we also did not get facts that were not already known to a true Harry Potter Fan.

I booked this tour as children up to age 14 go free and I thought it’d be a fun way of exploring the city before we head home. That and being a huge Potter fan! Our guide was Benjamin who was funny, super knowledgeable and made such a wonderful effort to speak to each of us. Really enjoyed his tour and he had my step-daughter in absolute stitches with his humour, 10/10 recommend.

It was so cool to see a bit of Edinburgh and learn about parts of the city that inspired JK Rowling as she wrote the Harry Potter series. As an author myself, it was inspiring, and for my kids, it was very cool. Tessa was full of interesting facts and was also witty in her responses to questions from people in the group. It was a great tour and I would highly recommend it for families of Harry Potter fans!

We did this tour with our five children (aged 8-15). Our tour guide, Benjamin, was excellent. He spent time getting to know everyone during the tour and ensured we all felt included. Our 8 year old was absolutely buzzing the whole time, enthralled by Benjamin’s enthusiasm. Our 11 year old says he would give it 7 out of 5 stars, and even our 15 year old son , who isn’t a Potter fan, said “That was actually pretty good” which is high praise indeed! A really great way of getting the children to walk and finding new parts of the city to explore. Highly recommend.

This was DREADFUL - we went with 3 children aged 8,10, 11 and it was so boring that we left halfway through. I simply do not believe the review I read that stated how much children had enjoyed it. It was a complete rip off - a boring script with irrelevant details.

We are sorry to hear you were not entertained by our tour enjoyed by thousands of guests every year, children and families alike. Benjamin your guide personally has hundreds and hundreds of 5* reviews across many platforms and we are so proud of the amazing tour he has created. If you leave us half way through you would have missed some amazing sights and stores like the. spooky Greyfiars Kirkyard, The immense Edinburgh Castle and the stunningly beautiful Victoria Street inspiration for Diagon Alley. We maintain the tour is great for children but remember it can rain in Edinburgh so please wrap up warm with waterproofs and you will have an excellent time.

Great tour with Benjamin! He was most excellent with Harry Potter knowledge around the sites in Edinburgh. He was engaging with our 7 year old son throughout and also provided some comedic bits along the tour. Would recommend to any HP fan young or old! Small tour group was a bonus for us too.

A very nice experience with a knowledgable tour guide.
The tour was fun and you really get a picture of the town that inspired J. K. Rowling.
Even if you are not a Harry Potter fun, you will enjoy the tour as it also includes historical facts about the city and the witch hunt.
Great experience!

Ben is a good guide. Two hour walking tour was interesting and saw many different spots in the city. Price is very reasonable.
A little suggestion is if you could provide a simple notes with a few sentences of each spot in future. My kids and myself do not familiar with English terms about Harry Potter. If there was a note for us then we can go home and do some research, which will be helpful for us to get a better understanding about your explanation during the tour.

Benjamin was great! Had a total of 7 people in my group, me being with my partner. Benjamin had a combination of good HP humor/jokes to combine with origin story of said topic and mixing in Scottish elements to it. Pretty good for people wanting to experience IRL for 2 hours compared to several hours of research.
