        The Perfect Monument to Stirling
A fantastic place to visit! When you arrive there is plenty of parking, there is a cafe, shop and toilets as you arrive which are all really cute. The walk up to the monument is lovely and dotted with benches and wood carvings giving you some history on your way. The walk is fairly steep though, but there is also a regular shuttle that takes people up and down from the monument! The monument itself is really gorgeous and has amazing views! There are also binoculars up there to look down towards Stirling and the surrounding area. Inside, each level is filled with history of the monument, of Stirling, and of course of William Wallace. There is a video, interactive shield design section, and plenty to read and do as you make your way up. The top of the monument is of course stunning, a 360 view of the Scottish highlands, what more could you want! The stairs in the monument are only wide enough for one person at a time, which can be awkward when it's busy, you just have to call up to see if its free to go. There isn't anything the monument can do about this of course, and as long as everyone is working as a team then it's all good, we've been of incredibly busy days and had no issues. The shop in the monument is great, many a gift was bought here! Lastly, check when they do the talks, they are fairly regular and totally worth checking out! They are free, they're in the grounds by the side of the monument, and really are fantastic! Informative, great fun, and a perfect way to round out the whole experience!

Climb the 246 steps to enjoy spectacular views and enjoy this historic building filled with history!
Seeped in history with views over Stirling and towards Stirling Castle. We parked at the bottom and walked up the hill. You can get a shuttle bus if you wish. We really enjoyed our visit. Walked to the top stopping on each level to explore the history and information. It was quite busy but we still had room and time to do everything. It was sunny when we arrived but by the time we got to the top it was wintery, which was very atmospheric. There is a gift shop and guides to ask questions. We loved it.

        Interesting and lovely views
Steep walk up but glad we took the path rather than the shuttle bus as there where Interesting facts to read along the way. 11.50 per adult to go to the top. Lovely views and lots to learn on each floor about Willaim wallace.

        Day trip from Edinburgh
Lots of stairs to climb to the top for a great view. The stairs wind and are narrow in most spots, so it makes it difficult to pass. Learned a lot of interesting history about William Wallace. We took a ScotsRail train from Edinburgh to Stirling then a local bus to the monument, very easy to do.

Ed was very flexible and knowledgeable to work with. We felt very safe with driving and was on time or ahead of schedule. He was very well versed in the history of Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument and other stops along the way to Inverness. Along with picking out great lunch spots! He helped get great pictures and made many wonderful memories for us! Thank you Ed for taking care us! Savanna, Amy and Darcy

        A bucket list must.
Enjoyed a fantastic day at the Falkirk Wheel. We took the boat trip up the wheel and along the canal and back. The whole experience was just fab. From the initial greeting by the ticket sale lady to the humorous but educational tour guides on the boat. The actual engineering involved is breathtakingly good. A bucket list must, enjoy.

        “Freedom!!!” The Wallace Memorial- superb!
After a morning spent at nearby Stirling Castle this seemed a must, short drive across Stirling, stopped at Stephens Bakery which is about 4 minute drive from WM car park, local steak birdie and a brew- packed with locals so you know it’s good! Then drive up the side of William Wallace pub, twisting steep access road takes you to free car park. Free Shuttle bus not running- we enjoy a walk so off we went through the gift shop and up you go! Steep wet gravel path, it’s one to pace yourself- interesting forest statues on way and a welcome halfway marker! Get to top and £11 each to enter- 249 steps up tight, narrow winding staircase- the only one! Great place to meet people going up and down but everyone soon gets hang of it! 3 floors on way up- Wallace’s sword and big screen story- loads of story boards re Battle of Stirling Bridge, I think we both loved the Scottish Heroes best- very atmospheric. Thankfully seating a plenty so time to recover between floors! The view from the top level is incredible and the site of Wallace’s triumph unfolds like a map in front of you… We were especially taken with the actor, he was fabulous at bringing the story and Scottish history to life! Not sure this is everyday so lucky us!!!! There is a gift shop and coffee shop at ground level, thoroughly enjoyable/ strenuous afternoon out!

        You need to see this
Amazing experience which will cost you many stairs to climb but it is well worth it. Impressive on the outside, Wallace Monument is a place you should visit if you are in the area. The parking is for free and then you can either take a shuttle bus or walk to the top. The Monument has a few floors and you can rest and read a lot about history on each. You can even make your own coat of arms! The weather at the top of the monument may be pretty harsh but the views are truly amazing. There is a cafe, a souvenir shop and toilets at the parking place.

        Ed was terrific!
Ed was terrific! He was flexible with our schedule when the ship disembarkation ran late, providing options to maximize the time we had. He also helped my mother with limited mobility to help her make the most of her time. He was very knowledgeable in guiding us through the castles.

Great day on the Jacobite steam train!
We had an incredible Experience with Harrison our tour guide and intrepid driver. We had a great Jacobite steam train ride, stopped for a lovely lunch in Mallig, and saw a few other historic spots. The route is lovely, we were on time, and Harrison was funny, charming and full of historical info for us. Incredible day!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Ed. Unfortunately, our flight was cancelled and we were a day and a half late to Scotland. We had booked Ed for two days, but were only left with a day plus a few hours. He was so gracious and kind trying to get everything in one day. We were able to start early and see all the sights we wanted to see. Great communication and patience with us as our flight kept getting delayed. I would absolutely recommend Ed without any reservations.
