I come to Edinburgh regularly to visit family and because I was travelling on my own this time, I treated myself to this tour. What an amazing way to see this beautiful city; Bella was fantastic - as a guide, a story-teller and a teacher. I had already seen pretty much all of the sights we visited, but Bella was able to get me to see them in a different way, I learned so much more about the history behind many of them. Her passion for her craft was inspiring and after 18 months of lockdown, she has helped re-ignite my love of photography. Thank you so much Bella!!

Had a great photo tour with Bella. She is an excellent photographer, instructor and tour guide. I learned more about photography these hours than I have in several years. She also took me to some beautiful spots in the city, that I didn't know of before. I really enjoyed her company and advice. If you have a passion for photography, Edinburgh, or both, I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Bella was efficient in answering our emails and adjusting the schedule to meet our late cruise ship. She met us in town and we quickly warned to her friendly character. She took us to some fascinating places and gave us real insight into the City. She exposed us to some super photographic opportunities and guidance as appropriate.She was never pushy on timings and let the tour revolve around us. Highly recommended .

It was fate that brought me to Edinburgh and I am utterly besotted. In the past, I have always been massively disappointed with the photos that I take when I travel, but I was determined to leave Edinburgh with photos that were worthy of this spectacular city. In a sudden flash of inspiration, I googled “photo walking tour of Edinburgh” and discovered the indomitable Bella McRae who took me on a whirlwind tour the following day. Bella is a true artist, an experienced photographer, and a kind soul—it was such fun spending the morning with her. Our four-hour walking tour took us to idyllic locations that allowed me to capture astonishing images of this gem of a city. Bella’s instruction on composition, leading lines, and perspective were invaluable as was her kind encouragement to find my own style of photography. I have vowed to do a photo walking tour in every new city I visit going forward. The opportunity to discover a city on foot with an expert photographer who knows the best locations for snapping images is a no-brainer. If you are in Edinburgh, Bella should be your go-to guide.
I used my iPhone to take photos because I prefer not to carry a camera when I travel. If you are an amateur photographer like me who wants to snap some beautiful photos while at the same time discovering Edinburgh on foot this is a perfect way to accomplish your goals. That said, if you are a serious photographer—all the better. Bella can accommodate any level of participant on her tour.

Had a great experience with Bella on the Edinburgh Photo Tour. It was just my wife and I on the tour. Bella was particularly helpful to my wife, who has less photographic experience than i. She took us to some great spots and helped us get the shots.

I had a very enjoyable photo walk with Bella. I was the only customer that day and the tour nevertheless took place, so I had private tuition. The tour is a good mix of sightseeing and photography. The tour was adapted to avoid some places where I had already been or which would have been quite crowded in the festival time. Bella points out typical views of Edinburgh, and some not so well-known, and explains good ways how to photograph them both technically and regarding composition. I am not such a good photographer, but managed to get some very nice shots and took away useful hints and tips. Last not least, Bella is a very friendly and enthusiastic person. During the tour, she also pointed out places which would be good to photograph at night and offered to provide further advice by e-mail. I definitively recommend this tour.

We had a great tour with Bella on our second day in Edinburg. I was confused on the time and Bella still honored our tour in the afternoon. She had a lot of great tips and stories to share with us as we used our mirrorless cameras on manual.

I went around Edinburgh with Bella for about 7-hours for a one day customized photo workshop of Edinburgh. We covered a lot of the main highlights of the city in a short period. Bella was knowledgeable and fantastic to spend the day with. We photographed a variety of places from historic architecture and buildings, to old cemeteries, city and street photography, etc., as she covered photo tips and history about the city. Edinburgh is an amazingly beautiful town and one day was not enough to do it justice. I highly recommend this photo tour.

Edinburgh is such a beautiful city, and Bella took me to a number of fabulous spots for great photos. Many were off the beaten path. She gave me tips about composition and how to get the best exposure. She also had a wonderful knowledge of the city, and we covered a great deal of ground in a relatively short period of time. I highly recommend this tour!

Had an excellent walk around Edinburgh photographing in many locations. It is a beautiful city & the tour includes street, architecture & landscape photo opportunities. Bella has a lot of knowledge to share both photographically & historically. The tour covers many highlights of the city & showcases the best vantage points for photography. Bella loves the alleys & arcades & showed me several which normally would be overlooked. Overall it was a great experience.
