A Memorable Journey through Scotland's Beauty
This tour was an adventure to remember! Led by the charismatic Martin, our tour guide, every moment was filled with laughter and warmth. Exploring the Scottish Highlands was a highlight in my life. From the breathtaking landscapes to the charming villages, every stop along the way offered a glimpse into Scotland's rich history and natural beauty. One unforgettable experience was getting up close and personal with the Highland cattle – an unexpected delight! While the tour primarily focused on the mystical Loch Ness, I wish we could have stopped more often and had a bit more time at each place although understandable given the long hours of driving. Nevertheless, the overall experience was nothing short of amazing. Martin's enthusiasm and knowledge added depth to the journey, making it not just a sightseeing tour, but a cultural and educational experience as well. I definitely recommend this tour. Worth it!

    Fun throughout!!!
Travelled to Loch Ness from Edinburgh, so it was a long journey but never felt like it due to various stops on the way and the excellent entertainment from our driver/tour guide (Brian Smith). Very informative and real fun throughout our journey. I have taken lots of tours/trips in places around the world but none were as fun as having Brian. Look forward to coming back to Scotland. Thanks Brian!!

    We cried to Adele
This trip is well worth it. The most amazing scenery driving through Highlands. Our driver Jamie was funny and played some good music along the way. We were very lucky with the weather. It was cloudy all the way through Highlands (so perfect for all the photos we took) and then the sun came out as we reached Loch Ness. 10/10 for the best day ever!

    ABSOLUTELY NOT
Absolutely just not. We did the tour through Lochness, the Highlands etc leaving the 21st of april at 8am. The tour in general was not that great, we were always stopping at the most random places to take photos of nothing basically and the day felt SO LONG. But most of all, the worst thing ever was our guide, Ryan. I don’t know why the other reviews are good but honestly he’s the worst i’ve ever met, he kept singing, making annoying sounds, talking about uselsss stuff like his contract, beyoncé, the split of one direction, just SO ANNOYING NEVER AGAIN. I will never suggest this tour to anyone, let alone with Ryan. Can you imagine listening to someone speaking non stop, not even stopping for one second, from 8am to 9pm to a super loud radio? Honestly I couldn’t wait to be back home. When we made him notice that and asked him to lower the volume, he said he would but didn’t and so I asked the other guide if I could join his bus (always the same company) but he said I couldn’t. He probably then told Ryan and when we got back on his bus he basically pointed it out childishly and said sth like “I was told some people wanted to leave the bus because of my ugly voice” and kept coming back at us, honestly the worst and so annoying and stressful. He made it impossible for us to enjoy the tour and the landscapes, hated it really. It’s not possible to let someone this unprofessional be a tour guide while singing and making sounds for full on 12 h. Please do sth about it. Also, of course it was not a me-problem but everyone on my bus was complaining and the customer service was of absolutely NO HELP WHATSOEVER. Never again in my life. I have the worst headache of my life and all of my family too.

    Fantastic tour wid Ryan
We took the loch Ness day tour (with optional paid boat cruise) from Edinburgh covering Callandher, Glencoe, Pitlochry and our tour guide was Ryan. He was a really lively guy wid a tanker of energy.. he kept us fully engrossed thru his witty commentary thru out the journey. Everything went perfectly as advertised.. it was a memorable tour n journey. I would gladly recommend d hairy coo n Ryan to everyone who wishes to visit best places in Scotland and have fun. Thanks Ryan and Hairy Coo tours. At the end of journey he even sang us and made us sing wid him.. Only downside was the bus was without WiFi (already mentioned in the ticket) but we expect that in todays world regardless of the price..

    The best coach tour
My son and I had the best time on this tour. Martin, our driver/ guide was excellent, made sure we were comfortable, full of useful information and kept the whole bus engaged for the full 12 hours. Easily the best couch tour I've been on, and yes, the Highlands of Scotland is there most beautiful place. Thank you Hairy Coo

The 5-day tour was a great opportunity to discover the precious “gems” of this beautiful land. The minibus was comfortable and being in a small group was ideal for socializing and for keeping up with the schedule. Our driver-guide Freddie went above and beyond, by adding his personal touch to the story telling. The tour was even more entertaining with his selection of music. Absolutely recommended!

Our favorite part of this tour was our driver/guide Stephen. He was so much fun and added a lot to our experience. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, funny and a very competent driver which allowed us to sit back, relax and enjoy the ride...even on those very narrow, winding roads. What an enjoyable and memorable experience and a great way to see Scotland. A plus was getting to know the small group of other travelers from different parts of the world. By the end of the tour we were all sad to say goodbye to each other. I highly recommend the Hairy Coo tour.

If you have any doubts about your vacation in Scotland, don't waste your time overthinking - just go on this tour. Before arriving in Scotland we had our thoughts about renting a car and driving around ourselves, but I'm so glad that we didn't - the bus was comfortable, we had enough stops for leg stretching and we were able to soak all the beautifull views and have a few beers for lunch and do not worry about the road conditions ;)
Stephen was exceptional tour guide, kept us entertained all the time with his interesting stories, funny jokes and broad musical taste playlist ;) Thanks to his great driving skills and lack of fear we have seen some breathtaking views of Highlands. THANK YOU STEVE <3
Be ready for some short hikes and climbing up the hills for the best views. Waterproof shoes and jacket is advised.

One word to start with is ‘Fantastic’. Had a great trip and loved each and everything about it. Great details and descriptions about the locations including restaurants and pubs. Shout out to ‘Stephen aka Steve’ our driver and tour guide. What a man and knowledge he has. I am obsessed with his story telling skills. He had a great playlist I must say. We literally had tears in our eyes to say good bye to him. About the locations all of them were amazingly beautiful. This trip was recommended by my close friend who had done this back in 2020 and I would highly recommend ‘The hairy coo’ to everyone.

Cheers!

Doing this trip was the best thing I have done in a long time. Travelling the Highlands through public transit is not only hard but also unreliable. By booking through The Hairy Coo everything was taken care of. I didn't have to research the places to go or bus times to get there. I just booked the trip, booked my accommodation and got to have an amazing experience.
Steven was our guide for this trip and he was incredible. This is a man that loves his job and his country and it shows. When we had extra time he made sure to bring us to hidden viewpoints and waterfalls so we could stretch our legs and take in the beautiful view. He knew the history of the places very very well and answered any questions people has easily. With all of our pitstops, I got to see so much of Scotland in so little time. Above being an amazing guide and an expert driver, Steven is also an A+ DJ. He has playlists curated based on where we were in the Highlands to enhance the experience. Listening to the Isle of Skye Boat Song while on the bridge to the Isle of Skye? That's an experience I'll never forget. I was also a female traveller that was backpacking solo for the first time. I felt safe the entire trip, partly because Scotland's culture is so welcoming but also because I knew Steven was keeping an eye on me to make sure I was okay, making it to the bus every morning and having a great time. Steven really went above and beyond to make this trip so amazing.
The bus trip itself was great. The longest stretch of driving we had in between stops was just over an hour, and even then there were beautiful views to see. There is no bathroom on the bus but stops to public restrooms were often. At every place that you stop for a meal, Steven was sure to point out the places that were worth eating. The highlights for me personally were Isle of Skye, Glencoe and meeting the hairy coos at the Drumbuie Farms tearoom.
If you are looking to book this trip -- do it. I will be thinking about this trip someday when I am old and grey, reminiscing about all the beautiful sights and amazing food. The Hairy Coo really tasks all the stress of navigating the Highlands, leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy your trip. Thank you Steven for being such a great guide. This trip was incredible.

Thank you for a wonderful trip through north west Scotland! Our tour guide Stephen was endlessly entertaining, highly knowledgeable about the history, landscape and cultural quirks of the area, and we very much enjoyed the care he put into our time together, including carefully curated playlists for the drive, jokes about all of our home countries and their relationship to Scotland, and the many recommendations and suggestions for future travels in Scotland. My friends and I appreciated his tips on what to see (and what to skip). We got to see plenty of beautiful, thrilling and fascinating sights on this trip. Each day was packed full and wonderful memories were made! I would highly recommend this tour and the tour company, and Stephen in particular.

Just returned from my 5-day tour with Stephen and it was absolutely fantastic! He went above and beyond to make us love Scotland, brought us to so many fantastic places, and even did some extra stops! Plus, he knows a hell of a lot about Scottish folklore and history so that's an added bonus!

Seriously though, if you want to visit Scotland, book this tour. It felt like having your pal driving you around the country and showing you all the places he loves! It was such a great atmosphere. I suggest the hairy coo adds more long tours in different parts of the country in the future so I can book them!!

Pointless to rate how beautiful Scotland is! Best country in the world!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this tour! We experienced and saw so much in just 5 days. Our driver/guide John (King of the North!) was awesome. Right from the beginning of the tour it was obvious that we were going to enjoy ourselves. It was wonderful to experience the country through the stories and humor of a local guide. The week before we had been on a bus tour in Ireland with a large group and we definitely preferred this small group tour. It was a little bit of work taking care of our own lodging and meals but again after being with a large group the week before it was nice to do things on our own and have a choice as to where and when to eat. John gave us recommendations (and good ones at that) as to where to eat at each stop. The tour was well paced and stops were frequent.

We just returned from a five-day private tour with John, and my family and I could not say enough good things about this trip or our guide. The trip exceeded our expectations in all areas. John was able to meet the needs of a family of all ages, from teens to the elderly. He was fun, patient, kind, and knowledgeable. He was an excellent driver and was able to be flexible in our schedule, when needed. John seems to know everything about Scotland, and went above and beyond to make our trip one of the most amazing we have ever taken. I highly recommend this tour and John as a tour guide.

Going on this tour is one of the best decisions I have made. I was quite nervous to begin with as I usually travel alone but our tour guide John made us all feel welcome very quick. All of the stops and sights were so beautiful and like nothing I have seen before. The people on the tour were also very kind. Highly recommend!
