The best time ever with the best!
We had the best time with the best guide Mark! Everything was perfect! We totally recommend this 3 day trip to The Highlands, Isle of Skye!

      Perfect custom tour!
There were a few landmarks in Scotland that we were not going to be able to see with the itinerary we had planned, so Timberbush Tours designed a custom private tour for our party of 3. John was our excellent guide for the day, first driving us to Dunnottar Castle on the coast north of Edinburgh. We made some very nice stops along the way. Then he took us to Falkirk to see the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel which were both “must sees” for us. Our vehicle was very comfortable, and John’s know.edge of Scottish history and geography were exceptional. If you decide you would rather not drive in Scotland as we did, I would highly recommend Timberbush Tours, and John, for their normal tours or for a custom tour!

      The quickest 12 hours
I had a wonderful time touring the highlands. The driver, Shug, was insightful and has a great sense of humor. He has a knack for storytelling and made the legs between each stop fly by.

      Fun Tour!
This tour was very enlightening and informative. Hearing about the Rosslyn Chapter - its rich history, intricate details and overall process of maintaining it were wonderful. The Glenkinchie Distillery was also fascinating - processes from its inception to date and how they work with Johnnie Walker providing a consistent product! Tasting was lovely too!

      Invaluable experience
I could have asked for a better tour but what made it excellent was Kenny, our tour guide. There was an unforeseen circumstance which delayed my arrival by a few minutes on the first day and Ken was kind enough to accomodate that. He was extremely informative the whole duration of the tour which kept the group engaged the whole time. He made sure that no stops were skipped and I felt very safe and assured in his presence and knowledge of the country. He also made sure that everyone’s preferences were catered to and also added extra photo stops. Ken’s sense of humour added to the whole experience. There was not one day that went by that we did not laugh at least a few times. At the end of the tour, i felt like i had a lot more knowledge the country and I think it was money well spent and it was an invaluable experience to have Kenny as our tour guide. Timberbush is very lucky to have him and for anyone who books this tour, I promise it will not disappoint.

      Wonderful day trip
This is a wonderful 8 hour day trip. Brian, our driver and tour guide, made the trip more enjoyable. During our drive time he would tell stories of the history of Scotland mixed with jokes, along with facts about each site we visited. Highly recommend

Great actual tour, tour company, not so much.
So there should be two reviews of this tour, one for the actual tour, and one for the tour company. The actual tour and our driver/guide Mary, was absolutely great! beyond awesome. Made the whole tour an unbelievable memory. The tour company, Timberbush, not so much. First, I will tell every traveler who books this tour to get their own accommodations. They make it seem that you will get a quaint, cute, little B&B or small hotel in Portree. What they actually book is the cheapest most inexpensive, hostel, up the hill, 15 -20 minute walk up the hill goat shack. Try doing that at night with it raining. Also, what if you want to hang out at one of the pubs at night, just ridiculous. They also kept changing the pick up and drop off point for the tour. Not much communication, and when I told them the accomodations were not acceptable for the price, they really couldn't care. So 6 stars for Mary, and 1 star for Timberbush.

Fantastic trip through the Scottish Highlands
My daughter and I went on this wonderful trip to the Scottish Highlands and it met all our expectations. Although the weather was what you would expect in Scotland (drizzling and dreary), we still had a fantastic time. We love Harry Potter and this tour did not disappoint. David, our tour guide, did such a great job highlighting where all the HP filming sites were along our journey. We stopped in Glenfinnan where the viaduct is located that the Hogwarts Express goes across. Very cool to see. David is so knowledgeable about the history of Scotland and he brought it to life. Really enjoyed hearing him recount the rich history of his country. David went out of his way to make sure we saw some hairy coos (cows) during our trip. We made several extra stops till he found some for us to see. David also wore a beautiful kilt and was happy to take pictures with everyone and take pictures of us. Adam, our driver, did an excellent job navigating and getting us to and from Edinburgh in a safe and timely manner.

      Fantastic guide and views
We had a fantastic time. Whilst the day definitely seemed against us with road closures and traffic, our guide Jayda made the trip for us, she was very informative and upbeat, she kept us updated with what was happening despite having to change the course of the day. She made sure to check up on us and got us to Loch Ness and she made sure we had time for some photo stops. Overall I really enjoyed the views and learning a bit more about scotlands history. Jayda was truly fantastic!

We LOVED this trip. Eric was wonderful, knowledgeable and fun to be around. This was a bit more leisurely pace than some other tours we have been on which was perfect for us. Leaned lots. Couldnt have asked for a better experience.

Great day tour to a beautiful part of Scotland.
This was a great day tour. Our driver, Marty, must be a standup comedian at night, because he kept us laughing throughout the trip. We traveled in a large van which was comfortable, and visited the fishing villages of Fife as well as St Andrews. At Andrews is more than just a golf course and definitely a must see.

Enjoyed the tour and visiting Dewars, however, unexpectedly after the tour and tasting we were told that we would have 2 more hours for lunch at the distillery. So instead of going into Aberfeldy town for lunch as listed in the itinerary, we could only order from a small and poor selection of prepackaged sandwiches at the small Dewars cafe. Besides the poor food options it was also a complete waste of our time and would have been better to finish the tour earlier. Even if it was impossible to go to the village, having 3 hours at the first distillery and 1 hour at the second was poor time management. Definitely needed more time at Glenturret which had a proper restaurant (with a Michelin star - seems odd lunch wasn’t here) to try more drams without being rushed. Also times for departure were set but I was then pressured to leave earlier by the guide - which made it hard after ordering flights. Regret going on this tour.

This is neither here or there. But if everyone is going to the same distilleries and doing the same tours it would make more sense to include the tour prices in the ticket instead of getting everyone to pay individually at both distilleries.

Dear 91jackf, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the whisky and Distilleries we visited. However, we are disappointed to hear you had a bad experience. All optional extras such as attraction entrance fees are not included in the price of your tour. This is to allow our guests the freedom to choose which optional extras they would prefer. Not everyone wants to take both whisky experiences. The reason we stayed two hours in Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery and one hour at Glenturret Distillery is because the first distillery has a museum part, an extra whisky tasting plus chocolate tasting and a longer visit than the second one. We are sorry you think the time was not well distributed. We do normally stop in Aberfeldy town for lunch. However, due to exceptional circumstances, we had to adapt that stop on your day tour. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We've taken on your feedback about the lunch stop on the tour. Thank you again for sharing valuable feedback with us. Kind regards, Aleix

Top to tail, this tour was terrific. Our guide, John, was knowledgeable and filled our brains with historical and cultural facts about Scotland and whisky. We toured Dewars+Aberfeldy as well as Glenturret. Both came with terrific tour guides of the facility, and a tasting. The views while in transit were breathtaking. John was great at keeping a pulse on the group rotating in some Scottish music when he could tell everyone was running out of steam or attention.

Bravo. We had a wonderful experience with Timberbush and will be checking out additional tour offerings.

Hi Patrick, Thank you for your kind words! We are very proud to have drivers who go above and beyond to provide the best possible experience, we are sure John will be happy to hear that you enjoyed your time on your tour with him. Our drivers are known for their playlists which is said to work as the perfect soundtrack for your Timberbush tour, we are so glad you enjoyed this. We will be sure to pass your kind comments onto him. Experiencing a whisky distillery in Scotland is definitely a must for any whiskey lover! It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the distilleries that you visited and learned so much about their histories! Please don't be a stranger, we hope to welcome you back on tour with us someday soon! Kind regards, Christie

This is a brilliant trip which takes in one of my favourite whisky's Dewars. Our driver Gillian is a superb host who is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She is a very good driver with wonderful stories and also some good music including a bit of Deacon Blue. Every precaution was taken against the Covid Virus which made you feel comfortable and completely safe. A superb day out taking in 2 distilleries and some of Scotland's beautiful places.Very enjoyable and worth all the costs, Highly recommended so get on board.

An educating experience, to say the least...Tourguide Jim was, to put it simply, a true Scot and obvious Whisky enthusiast. The trip was very educational, and I do feel I’m going home feeling just a tiny bit more Scottish...at the very least, now I know at which side the Barley gets in! 😏

Bringing home a nice bottle of 15-year-old Single Malt straight out of Distillery is also I pleasant addition!

Hope to see you guys again soon! 😉🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I loved the guide but the bus broke down and there was no offering of refund even though we missed two hours of our day. Overall, it was defiantly a budget experience. I wish I would have spend more money for something more well organized and intimate. The distilleries on the trip were awesome. But we did not stop for lunch or at any of the nature spots described.

Hi Aimee, Many thanks for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I can see that despite the coach having a delay, you were able to visit both distilleries and the driver arranged for the lunch stop to be combined with Dewars Distillery at their café. I'm sorry to hear that your coach had a breakdown, unfortunately working with buses this is inevitable, the replacement coach left our yard within 10 minutes of hearing about the breakdown and got to you within 2 hours. I hope that this setback didn't spoil the Whisky experience for you and that you were able to have a good day learning about Whisky. Best wishes, Jodie

Perfect day trip from Edinburgh! Stewart (Stuart?) was a wonderful host for the day. Highly knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly. Both distillery tours were enjoyable and different. In contrast to other posts, it is clearly stated that distillery entrance fees are not included so very much expected to pay our entry. I would highly recommend this tour, company and host! Very well organized from start to finish and well worth going.

This was an absolutely amazing experience!! This trip takes pretty much all day, so you really want a tour guide that is dedicated to providing a fun experience. Eric, our driver, is one of the most likable people that exists on Earth and he made the trip EXCEPTIONAL! Between his stories, dad jokes, historical facts about the areas we were passing through, and fun music, we had a blast the entire time. Both places we stopped at to tour and try whisky were great, and we really felt like the trip was well-planned. Would recommend to anyone looking for a day tour when in Edinburgh!! Even if you don’t drink whisky you will get to view the gorgeous highlands and enjoy all the stops.

A bus trip to the Highlands to Aberfeldy and Glenturret. Unfortunately, we couldn't see the distillery in Aberfeldy because of construction work. That should have been said beforehand. Still, it was a lovely experience with incredibly friendly people who looked after us. Glenturret was in operation, even one of the cats was there. On the way back, everyone fell asleep (two whisky tastings, delicious), which was a mistake. Because Peter, our driver, told us a lot of interesting things about the sights along the route and the history of Scotland. That really enriched the tour.
