    Amazing
My sister and I had a wonderful time, and luckily the weather was also perfect. It was really worthwhile. Our driver/guide Michael was amazing, and made the tour so much better!

    LIFE CHANGING
Our guide, Martin was AMAZING, he was an incredible driver and storyteller. The whole journey we all enjoyed his personal stories, historical recounts of Scottish history and his jokes! The whole day tour itself was gorgeous, we had regular breaks and lots of opportunities to get food and take a walk/explore. They fit so much into one day and we were just so grateful to be able to depend on our guide.

Take Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye tour for an unforgettable experience
Rod was the best guide/driver we have ever had anywhere. So knowledgeable and funny. Knew we both had trouble walking and made helpful suggestions on the best things to do or where to go at each stop. Isle of Skye was beautiful and majestic. Hairy Coo equipment is clean, new and quite comfortable. I highly recommend the 3 day Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye tour. Three are very easy to work with and made suggestions when we booked.

Long bus ride, made entertaining because of our driver/guide. Weather dependant activity.
It was a long bus ride, thankfully our driver (sorry I forgot your name it was a few weeks ago - I know he had a long beard and was supposed to get married to a canadian in a few weeks) had a lot of interesting stories and facts about the area we drove through. So it made the ride much more enjoyable. Unfortunately we had some bad weather on the way and sometimes we couldn't see the surrounding views because of the fog and raid. But hey, it's scottish weather, what can you do. The stops were well thought and long enough to take plenty of pictures and take the area in. We saw Loch Ness, highland cows, pretty scottish villages and drove past some famous filming spots from the movies (not gonna spoil the surprises).

Loch Ness and the Scottish Highlands
This was an amazing day! With Brian Smith as our guide we got sweeping views, Scottish history, a musical journey of Scottish artists, Loch Ness in her majestic beauty, of course some hairy coos and lots of fun along the way. 100% recommend!

10/10, recommend to anyone visiting Scotland!
Spent a whole week in Scotland and this was by far the highlight- absolutely unbelievable! William was a more than fantastic guide. He was hilarious, knowledgeable, and kind. He told us practically the entire history of Scotland from the Ice Age to today, complete with on-theme musical interludes. We were able to stop and visit with some hairy coos (although sadly they did not want to be fed by us). This tour was WELL worth the extremely reasonable price, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I don't think I've ever been to a more beautiful place than the Highlands, and they were able to fit so much into a single day tour. Again, I can't sing the praises of William enough- by the end of the tour, we wanted to take him along with us for the rest of our trip and keep hearing more of his stories! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone taking a trip to Scotland- it's a can't miss opportunity.

    Awesome
The tour was awesome compared to others we have been on as far as information. Our guide was Michael and he was a great story teller and guide. Kudos! My favorite part was seeing the "hairy coos"!

    Get there early!!
The day we went on this tour, we filled one large bus and two smaller ones. We were in the last bus, which would be fine if it was in good operating condition. We froze. It’s hard to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Highlands when you’re uncomfortable. The driver tried to fix it, but he was not successful. From previous reviews, I was anticipating listening to the guide’s stories but with the feedback in the audio system, I was relieved to only have to listen to a few, one of which was a recording that I couldn’t hear anyway. I was looking forward to shopping in Pitlochry as described in the tour, but the stores were closed. To top it off, the windshield wipers stopped working on the way back and we had to wait an hour in a grocery store for another bus. If I were to do a bus tour again, I’d make sure I was early so I would be on the first bus for a better experience.

1-Day Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands, Glencoe & Pitlochry
Loch Ness was fun. The Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Pitlochry are beautiful. However, you are in the bus a lot! So 9-10+ hours of mostly sitting was rough. Our tour guide was a little difficult to understand and a few times she scared me, especially when we went over a hill and she told everyone to say weeeee. The bus was moving back and forth when we hit the hill. Scared the living daylights out of me.

Loch Ness and Scottish Highlands tour with The Hairy Coo
I got to see a lot in one day with The Hairy Coo and even though there was a fair bit of time on the bus, there were regular comfort breaks and our tour guide Michael entertained us with stories of Scotland. It was amazing to see Loch Ness and I recommend going on the optional cruise. I really enjoyed seeing the dramatic mountains in the Highlands and there were multiple photo opportunities. Seeing the cute Highlands coos at the end of the trip was a great way to finish the day.

    Highly recommend!
I attended a one-day tour to the Highlands with Scott as our driver - he was fantastic! The sights alone were beautiful, but the information he provided along the way was interesting and filled with details I likely would have missed out on otherwise. We had a chance to stop and see (and feed!) a hairy coo along the way which was easily one of the top 10 experiences I've had while traveling.

Worst tour operator for Loch Ness & Highlands Day Tour from Viator
Worst tour operator viator and rabbies for Loch Ness & Highlands Day Tour. We have buy one tour from this operator and we reach on time early in morning and they refused as they do not have space for baby and when we asked them refund than they said that you have to send mail and than our team investigate and than they decide what to do. Till now we have not get any refund from their side neither received any mail. I highly not recommend this operator for any tour in your edinburg tour or any other tour operated by this operator

This was one of the best tours I went on and it will be one of those experiences you treasure for life!
Me and my friends decided to do a trip through highlands and since we were a group of 6 renting a car was too much of a hassle. And oh boy how happy we were that we chose to go on the hairy coo trip!
We had an amazing tour led by Brian with the 6 of us and one other person. The best thing was that we all just clicked, and it did not feel as a tour but rather a trip with friends! Everyone was cracking jokes all the time, talking, and just having fun! Since we were a smaller group (first tour after the lockdown, so I guess people were still scared? I reassure you there is nothing to be scared about!) we were flexible and that led to some awesome experiences. We wanted to go swimming in loch Ness and not only we managed to do that, but Brian also joined us! We of course visited the most famous hairy coo Hamish and fed him the traditional way ;), we went to see Hogwarts express, saw dolphins at Kilt rock in the Isle of Skye (which was the first for us as well as Brian!) and went on an amazing hike to enjoy the views of beautiful highland scenery. Throughout all three days Brian was full of facts and stories about highland history, which were always accompanied by awesome jokes and the most iconic music, from Outlander to Star Wars (you will understand when you go on the trip :D). Though you spend a bit of time on the bus (Highlands are big) there is no dull moment because there is plenty to see on the way, also the stories Brian tells always relate to the landmarks we see. If Brian needed a rest from talking (it was amazing he didn’t lose his voice within the tree days, that man is a legend) or just needed to focus on the drive we played our music and did karaoke, and of course we had to mess with Brian a bit so we played some annoying songs, all in good fun!
So all in all the trip was brilliant! A couple days have passed, but we are still gushing how great it was and I have no doubt we will be remembering this amazing time for a very long time! Can’t recommend this tour enough and thanks to Brian for making it so fun and without a care in the world!

Rose the Perfect Guide!

Although there is nothing perfect in this mortal world, Rose is an exception. She is a textbook example of how a guide should be; she was kind, considerate, and upbeat. I am astonished by her storytelling skills; she made it so enjoyable that I am sure nobody on the bus dozed off even for a minute.

The tour was one of the few experiences I would remember for a long, long time; it was a perfect blend of sightseeing, history, cultural stories, and fun! If you are visiting Scotland for the first time, I would highly recommend doing this three-day tour to experience the highlands and Isle of Sky.

Amazing. Marty was the absolute best guide. We had a small group so he took us to a lot of extra spots that weren’t on the itinerary. Very knowledgeable and had great food recommendations. He really read our group and was great with telling stories and giving information about the landscapes we passed through. We had all the luck with blue skies and clear views. So happy my friends and I took this tour!

This tour not only lets you see the highlights of Scotland but provides a one-of-a-kind experience. The scenery was breathtaking, the bus was comfortable, and we had the chance to listen to a perfect balance of great music and stories about Scottish history and myths without a single dull moment. Despite the tight schedule, we always had time to explore a bit on our own, and to taste great meals and drinks.

Still, the heart and soul of the tour was our gorgeous tour guide, Brian. He is a perfectly skilled driver and storyteller with a fantastic taste in music, contagious enthusiasm, and an extremely attentive, energetic and warm personality.

Even if you only spend a few days in Scotland, I would definitely recommend booking a tour at The Hairy Coo to experience the quintessence of Scotland!

First, the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye are among the most rugged and beautiful scenery that we have experienced. Second, our tour guide Brian took it to a even higher level over these 3 days.

Brian was enthusiastic and so knowledgeable about the area. He was caring and entertaining making sure everyone was engaged. Brian blended stories and music to give everyone a real identification with Scotland. His native Scottish brogue and wearing his kilt made it really special.

Everything ran very smoothly and we got to see so much! You do have to arrange your own accommodations in Inverness, but Hairy Coo offers many suggestions. We stayed at Adrian’s Guest House which was superb.

You are on your own for dinner in Inverness so I would highly recommend reservations as the restaurants stop serving food early and cannot accommodate a lot of people. I am sure this was because of staffing issues.

We were so pleased with the quality of this tour and would highly recommend a Hairy Coo Tour to anyone, and walk 500 miles with Brian!

Going to the Isle of Skye has been a bucket-list for me. My girlfriend and I spent some time reviewing tour options and The Hairy Coo was our choice.

Our first day of our 3-day tour of the Highlands was rainy and windy so we told our tour guide John that we wanted better weather. Day 2 on the Isle of Skye had patchy rain but mostly sun, and by Day 3 it was just beautiful. I can’t say whether John changed the weather to our request, but it sure seemed so. Just like the rest of our tour, it seemed like he catered to our every wish. He took us to a meat pie shop in Callander and fish n chips shop in Portree that were literally the best of each I’ve had EVER.

He catered to every person on our hodgepodge group of introverts to the point that on Day 1 we barely said a word to each other; to Day 3 and we are all having lunch together and even some of us meeting for drinks after the tour was over. He joked that we’d all miss each other after the tour was over and in all honesty, we do.

A member of my group said the best description of John as our guide and as of Hairy Coo in general: “they (John) aren’t tour guides…they are Scottish people who want to show us their home”.

We saw the most beautiful landscape in the World, had great laughs (rainbows and the impervious to the cold people from Hawaii (me)) and met wonderful people. Thank you John and the Hairy Coo. We are already looking forward to the 5-day tour in the future.

Hi johnfG1529RG, Thanks so much for the in-depth review of your tour with John. Although I have now drifted off into a dream-like state thinking about those haggis and steak pies in Callander... Haste ye back! Kind regards, The Hairy Coo

Anthony gave us an unforgettable tour of the highlands. From the moment we got on the bus his enthusiastic story telling and sense of humor kept us all highly entertained. Throughout the trip he would point out some of the fascinating, lesser known landmarks and their significance that we wouldn't have known about had we gone the car rental route. Pacing of itinerary was perfection, giving us just the right amount of time in each location. Many, many stunning photos were taken. The beauty of the highlands is truly unlike any other.

When I first booked the 3 days tour with Hairy Coo, I was a bit hesitant on the duration of the trip, and whether it was worth it or not. Well, hours after the tour has finished, it was worth every minute and every pound it costed and I would go again. It was a stunning experience, going through the Highlands and the spectacular Isle of Skye. Our driver Steven was amazing in every aspect. He was constantly providing details about the places, stories about Scotland and it's history, honest opinions on things to do, showing us sights throughout our trip, AND MOST OF ALL, by maintaining a great atmosphere through a 3-day journey. Great driver-guide (10/10). Amazing landscapes (10/10)

Wonderful experience introducing us to Northern Scotland and well worth the time and money. If you have the choice, ask for Rose to be your tour guide. She is an accredited national storyteller and taught us so much about Scottish history and culture. The Celtic music she played during our drive through the countryside added to the ambience of the experience and her long experience of driving buses made me feel very secure in the narrow winding roads of the Highlands. She made sure that people travelling together were able to sit together or very close together, provided sufficient bathroom stops, and always did a close headcount to make sure nobody was left behind after a stop. She also recommended some very good and not expensive restaurants to eat at during our lunch stops.

Didn't have any expectations for the tour but thanks to our guide Michael who was fun and knowledgeable we were able to appreciate the places of interests visited from a historical perspective as well as in pop culture context. Also really appreciate the safe driving skills given the really wet and windy conditions at times. Wondeful playlist especially the cover by Runrig. Enjoyed the cruise and whisky tours. Will be back for another Hairy Coo tour if we visit Scotland again.
