About
Edinburgh is a long way from Loch Ness, Scotland’s most famous lake—even Glen Coe is an almost 3-hour drive. Let your driver/guide do all the hard work, as you relax on your private coach and view many of the Highlands’ key attractions. You’ll see Glen Coe, Loch Ness, Kilmahog, Rannoch Moor, Pitlochry, Loch Laggan, and the Forth Rail Bridge on a tour that’s tailor-made for anyone with limited time.

  • Discover Loch Ness—an optional cruise features underwater imaging!
  • See glens, lochs, moors, and villages from a comfortable private coach
What to expect

We had an AMAZING guide/driver Jamie. This guy loves his job! So much knowledge, information, stories and even music to fit the scenes that we drove by. He had tons of stories about Scottish history, that he told with such pride. He introduced us to scottist singers and told about their history too. The tour didn’t feel long at all. We had many stops to take pictures and to strech our legs. The weather was also nice, so our day was really a jackpot. Thank you Jamie so much!!! -the couple who brought you candy

My favorite part was our driver and tour guide Brendan. He was outstanding from beginning to end, all 12 hours of the beautiful and very informative journey through the Scottish Highlands. Learned a lot about Scottish history, geography, and culture. Including that you have snow- covered mountains in Scotland! Brendan even serenaded us with a gorgeous Scottish song on the ride back.

An amazing trip that I wish more people knew about. Brendan (Mr. B) was a endless resource of history and culture, while at the same time presenting it in a humorous manor and keeping our attention. I can not stress enough if you are the fence about who to us for this trip, we would recommend this company. Again, thank you for perfect day and even better company!

Brilliant day topped off by the brilliant, knowledgeable and funny tour guide/driver Brian.

Was picked up from our hotel and dropped off where we wanted which was a nice touch.

We learnt so much and had enough time at each stop. Great selection of stops and lovely route.

The coach was comfortable throughout and the coach was cleaned at each stop including the toilet.

Would recommend to anyone, thank you Brian for a great day

Don’t book with Gray Line Scotland through Get Your Guide. They will just cancel and let you down if there’s not enough people on the trip cos they haven’t made enough profit. They sent me a text to say they were cancelling my trip the day before we were due to fly to Scotland for our trip to the highlands. I called them immediately but they said we should be grateful that they had text us with more than 24 hours notice as thats all they normally give. I said we were flying the next day then due to travel on the highlands trip the day after as a special birthday treat but the advisor from Gray Line was incredibly uncaring and ended up putting the phone down. It’s going to take me at least 7 days to get the money back now from Get Your Guide and we’re still flying to Scotland but won’t be traveling to the highlands. What a let down Gray Line travel is. I’ll never book with them ever again.

We are disappointed that you have chosen to leave a review when you haven’t experienced the tour. We understand your disappointment but at the time we spoke to you, the tour was not cancelled and we were giving you some notice that as you were the only booking that day then if your schedule allowed it was advisable to change the day of the tour to the day before when we had reached the minimum number of participants to operate. Unfortunately, you cancelled the tour yourself through your booking agent. Most tour companies will have a minimum number they must reach before operating a tour and this is stated during the booking process and also again when we send you an email to arrange your pickup. Our coaches carry up to 48 passengers and we often send a tour on numbers as low as 8 therefore cancellations are rare and nothing to do with lack of profit as you suggest. Unfortunately our call record shows the decision to end the call was made after swear words were continually being used and our agent advised that the call would have to be terminated if this did not stop as our company does not tolerate any kind of abuse to staff. We are sorry that you chose to cancel the tour and that you won’t have the opportunity to join us but we wish you a pleasant stay in Edinburgh and hope to have the chance to welcome you in the future.

We went on the Loch Ness and HIghlands trip during a short visit to Edinburgh. We always use Greyline and have traveled extensively with them in America and found the really good with Edinburgh being no exception. The trips are always good , but the real difference with other companies are the drivers. We had gone on a Loch Lomond trip two years previously and had the same driver this time Brian. His knowledge of the places we visited and Scottish history were brilliant and he organised the trip brilliantly. He went out of his way to drop everybody off near their hotel and was helpful throughout the trip. He even got in some brilliant photo stops on the way home. Brilliant trip with a brilliant driver/ guide, would highly recommend.

Easily one of the best day trips I've ever been on. Brian is a wonderful guide and the perfect blend of entertaining and engaging. While taking in the beautiful scenery, Brian told us the rich history of the regions, which made the experience feel more special.

Would definitely recommend taking the boat trip at Loch Ness & getting off the bus to take pictures at Glencoe.

Very entertaining tour with stunning views, spotted countless highland sheep, cattle, deers, several rainbows and Nessie, of course. Cruise with sonar boat on Loch Ness is not included in the price, but really worth it as you get to experience the vast dimensions (especially depth) and wildlife hidden in the dark.
The tour itself is well planned and covers many highlights, we also appreciated the numerous picture stops.
What made it an authentic Scottish experience was our tour guide's humour, musical interludes and many catchy stories. We felt far from tourists and were immersed in Scottish culture and history. A big thank you to Brenden!
