Gave us the real feel of Scotland's history, culture and beauty!!
It was truly a beautiful experience, the highlight of our Scotland trip. Scott was so kind, knowledgeable and funny. Our group had 2 kids, one almost one and the other one a toddler. As much as it felt like we were being ambitious in doing a day long tour with the kids, considering my younger one was out on a trip for the first time, Scott understood our challenges and planned the whole day so well, that we did not have any trouble, while we got to see the Kelpies, the bridges, lunch at a lovely local rustic restaurant, see a Castle. My husband managed to go to a distillery too!!! And in the end my kid was waiting to meet the highland cows, ans Scott made that possible as well. Amazing is an understatement.

Glencoe Tour is a Must!!!! Ask for Scott!
My family and I did a day tour of Glencoe with Scott. It was a highlight of our trip! Scott picked us up from our hotel and was just an absolute delight from the moment we met him. As we were driving out of Edinburgh Scott took us by some must-see sites and talked about the history/background. As we made it to and through Glencoe, we saw bridges, monuments, and just absolutely picturesque lochs, mountains, waterfalls, and landscapes. We stopped and fed some highland cows that were just adorable! We also stopped at a mini Stonehenge type area with stones that were thousands of years old. We visited a number of quaint and lovely villages to break up the drive and do a bit of shopping with coffee breaks etc, which included stopping at a world-renowned chocolatier for a tasting! The tour ended with Scott dropping us off at our hotel. Again, this day was an absolute highlight and that was due in no small part to Scott. He was so lovely and funny and knowledgeable that it just made our day. I can't say enough nice things about the day and highly recommend it to anyone considering that tour.

      Book and don’t think twice!
TL:DR - Book with Iconic, Scott is the man, have a great time! Long form - We booked with Iconic on the recommendation from a friend who recently toured Scotland with their family of 5. Our friends had a blast and so did we! What you need to know: Pre-trip communications 1. We received a personal email confirmation within several hours of booking. 2. Will (owner) answered all our questions over email. 3. Will worked with us to loosely define our custom experience over email. 4. We received confirmation emails prior to our trip, validating our address and confirming pickup time. Day-of Travel 1. Our guide, Scott, arrived an hour ahead of our scheduled departure. (I know this because I saw him on the street while I grabbed breakfast) 2. Scott was a font of knowledge, with a radio voice to match the quality of his story-telling! And he’s funny! You will learn an immense amount of history while laughing your arse off. 3.You are signing up for a custom experience, not a pre planned route. “How do you know this?” You might ask…..because we asked to change itinerary during the tour. Instead of hiking, we went to a chocolatier. (best chocolate ever). Simply put, book with Iconic if you want a fun, personable, personalized, informational and memorable experience.

      A great day of touring!
Gary was our outstanding guide for a fun filled full day. He was knowledgeable, friendly, a good driver and very accommodating. Setting up this custom private tour was very easy thru email. Gary knew we had 2 requests, Kelpies & St Andrews. He delivered those and so much more. History of things in Edinburgh & St Andrews, facts behind the Kelpies, shopping advice, lunch at a quaint small town diner. We would absolutely to any of our friends.

      Scottish Highland tour delightful
Scott was a terrific guide on our Scottish Highlands tour. He picked us up promptly as planned, was very knowledgeable about the sites and knew how to entertain us too! The day was full of great scenery, good shopping (that we requested) and a terrific lunch too.

      Gary & The Hee-land Coos
Gary was a fabulous tour guide. Gary had our group of six friends laughing before we jumped in the van to start the tour. His knowledge of the sites, Scottish history, and landmarks were excellent. He kept us informed where we were going, when we would get there and what we would see. He even made sure we knew how to properly pronounce the Highland Cows - a wonderful day!

      A Taste of Scotland
Thanks to Iconic Tours we had an amazing time in Scotland. If you are looking for a private tour company this is who you want to book with. I reached out to Will prior to our travel dates, he always responded in a timely manner. He could not have been more patient and attentive in helping us to work out an itinerary to include all the things we wanted to see and experience. He also showed us several places off the beaten path that were fantastic. We found Will to be very professional, personable and to have a good sense of humor. We spent 4 days with him enjoying his wealth of knowledge not only about the sites we were visiting but about Scotland in general. Can’t wait to revisit some day and would definitely book with Iconic Tours again. Scotland has so much to offer, from Old Town Edinburgh to The Highlands to St Andrews to Whisky tastings all in between, it truly is a full “bag of delights”. Victoria R

      Wonderful experience
Scott was our guide, educator, comic, friend on this really wonderful day excursion into the mid highlands. While we did not have any set expectations or any specific sites to visit Scott was very masterful with getting a feeling of what we would prefer from the conversations we had while traveling. We hit the spots generally outlined in the description of the tour but we did a number of side spots that were interesting, beautiful, and allowed us to feel a part of the land and people of Scotland in our brief visit. The company was very informative and punctual in preparation and Scott was very timely and thorough. Brilliant in all aspects and we would look forward to another excursion with exactly this company and Scott when we return.

Private Central Highlands Tour with Scott
We had a fantastic day trip to the central highlands with Scott. Seven US passengers said it was the highlight of their trip, aside from the reason they came to Scotland for their son/brother/nephew’s wedding. Scott was very knowledgeable and added an extra flair with his Scottish wit. We saw the Kelpies, William Wallace Monument, Doune Castle for our Outlander fans, paid respects to Rob Roy’s grave, and we took a nature walk with faeries to a beautiful waterfall. Scott took us to a lovely restaurant in the central highlands, and on an excellent visit to see the hairy coos, Honey, Haggis, and Hamish, whom we saw up close and personal. Thank you, Scott for a memorable tour!

I had a private photo tour with Chris. It was an amazing experience. Chris is a very knowledgeable and talented photographer, a very good tour guide, and great person to spend a few hours with. I highly recommend any type of tour with Chris, but the photography is an extra special adventure. Chris worked with my timing, my interests, and answered all sorts of photography and history questions. Highly recommended!

Great way to spend a lovely bright and chilly morning in Edinburgh and learn good stories about the New Town (having toured the Old Town the last time we visited). Started at the Scott Memorial, moved to Calton Hill then into the classic grid of the New Town and finshed off in Dean Village. Gains was very knowledgeable and kept things moving all morning. Recommended.

I thought the tour was going to take us to all of the popular sights around Edinburgh and give us some basic background on them...but, in actuality, our tour guide, Gains, took us to some very unique spots in the city, including a cemetery and place where you could see Mr. Higgs (of Higgs Boson) hand prints in the cement in the city. We also stopped by statues, the St Giles Cathedral and other unique spots. The walking tour was very informative and interesting.

    Highly recommend this tour!

Although I've been on the bus tours a couple of times, I thought a walking tour of the Royal Mile would add additional details. Our guide, Margaret-Ann from Mercat Tours led a multi-cultural group of around 16, on the Secrets of the Royal Mile, and she certainly knew a lot of them. Welcoming questions from the group, her love of history was plain to see, and her often humorous descriptions were appreciated by all. Beginning and ending with the Castle Mount, it was nicely paced, and a realy pleasurable walk.
