Wow! Keith and Collum on our tour were super friendly and a true joy to be guided by. Keith was a great tour guide with a mound of knowledge and history shared. I truly felt like I had been around him and Collum more than this trip. They made it very enjoyable and fun with Q and A. The part of the tour that was enjoyable for me was in between the ride and the guiding, there was local music being played while riding to allow you to truly take the experience in. I highly encourage to go on this tour with anyone guiding you along on the Wee Red Bus tours but if your able to get Keith and Collum, your in for a treat. It’s a must do tour if history and it’s beauty is what your looking for.

We enjoyed a wonderful trip on The Wee Red Bus recently while in Edinburgh. Our drivers (one in training for this tour) were excellent. Plenty of great information and some time to just listen to Scottish tunes as we traveled. They were kind enough to allow us a stop at Bamburgh Castle which we have tried for years to see. We recommend this company hands down!

Great tour on the Wee Red Bus. Easy pickup and drop off, great info from our guide Paul throughout, Lindisfarne was beautiful (though I would have loved more time there, understand the tide makes it difficult, so be prepared to walk fast out to the Castle if you also want to see the town). Alnwick Castle was also brilliant with a good mix of history, activities for the kids, Harry Potter references and huge grounds. Heart of Scotland did a great job at keeping us all happy and the small bus size is a bonus. Great tour!

Our tour guide mislead us into believing that it was safe, expeditious, easy and convenient to leave Alnwick Castle for lunch and return in time. We are not from the UK. We were NOT told that the castle has multiple entrances and exits, GPS is NOT reliable in the UK, there are no Uber services in Alnwick. There are very few taxi services, and the one we found was cash only. The tour guide did not apologize for causing this horrific situation. We will not be using this tour group again.

Hello Lola, Thank you for joining us recently on the Wee Red Bus. We are disappointed to hear that you had some difficulty finding your way back to the pick up point after your 3 hour lunch break in the small town of Alnwick. I think it is a little unfair to suggest that your tour guide caused this situation. That said, we do hope that your 15 minute delay returning to the bus did not detract too much from your tour and that you enjoyed the rest of your vacation in Scotland. Kind regards Helen and the HOST team

Alnwick Castle is a long drive from Edinburgh. The driver we had was high energy and very friendly. She did a great job. The red bus was comfortable too. There is a stop at Holy Island. My wife and I would strongly recommend that this stop be extended 30-40 min. The island has Lindisfarne Castle but the castle is about a 15-20 min walk and there is not enough time to walk there, walk back and have any time to see the castle or other sites. If the stop time was 30 min longer you could get a cold sandwich and eat while walking to the castle. As it is now, you just have time to see the Lindisfarne Priory and Parish Chuch. The extra 30 min would also give you time to eat at one of the many places on the isle. The tour departs now at around noon and your only lunch option is at Alnwick. At Alnwick, you have the option of fish and chips or fried sausage and chips. Alnwick is a great stop. There is lots to do and not a lot of time to do it. If you had lunch on the "island" then you would have plenty of time at Alnwick. Overall a very good tour we would recommend, with the potential of being a great tour.

The stops are pretty, and you get plenty of time in Alnwick Castle, were you can visit the caslte, the gardens en even the city of Alnwick. If you like history and castles, do this tour! You wont regret it!

Took this trip 3 yrs ago and it was great. This time we knew what to expect. Alnwick castle makes the royal family's place look like a hovel. Holy Island has the best mead we've ever tasted. Iain, our driver/guide, had the luck with the tides and the 411 on everything. There is nothing better than Heart of Scotland!

This was our third trip to Edinburgh and we have previously taken day tours with Heart of Scotland and enjoyed them - so I booked this one because we hadn't taken it before. Amazing day to two spectaucular places! Both Lindesfarne and Alnwick were beautiful, historic and fun. Angela was an entertaining and informative guide. Heart of Scotland tours exceeds expectations and is our number one choice for small group day trips from Edinburgh.

Really enjoyed our tour with George. He was friendly and informative. Lots of Scottish pride.
The tour was great. Loved Holy Island. Would have enjoyed 30 minutes longer there and shorter time at Alnwick probably. However the Castle and gardens were wonderful too. We also had gorgeous weather so that was a bonus.
No complaints from us.
