Kevin was an awesome guide. The way he told the stories and explained things were fantastic. The group felt very comfortable during the trip.

Great value for money, amazing day
Oct 2021 • Friends
Our driver, Kevin was so full of information throughout the whole day. Amazing day, every stop was just perfect. We were a small group which made the day very personal. Weather wasn’t brilliant but we were in The Highlands! Managed to beat the rain showers with most stops. Long day but we all got back to Edinburgh and agreed that we were so pleased that we had done this trip. Highly recommend it.

We did a 3 day highlands and Isle of Skye tour with Euan. He was a perfect guide—flexible, attentive, knowledgeable, and funny. We were ‘Euan’s clan’. He kept us engaged with open QnA as he was sharing all kinds of facts and stories which was very informative. The tour was flawless, mixing in facts, great music (including Bollywood😊), scenic stops etc. Highly recommend! 😊

Keith did a nice job of showing my wife and me the Highlands, Loch Ness the Irish Sea and many other sites. His commentary on some Scotland/UK history helped us appreciate the journey even more..

If we had elected to use our rented car we would had to pay attention to the curved roads, driving on the left, and we could not have enjoyed the scenery.

A great day trip with plenty of sights.
Sep 2021
We spent the day with Keith as our driver/guide. This tour was small (10 people) which meant that everything could move at a good pace that satisfied everyone. Keith's knowledge is extensive, on history, and also the best stops. We had plenty of stops and saw some amazing scenery and sights. Keith also ensured that we avoided the worst of any weather (not sure how he controls the rain, but he managed it!).
It IS a long day (7:45am to 8pm) but you see so much in that one day that is is definitely woth the effort if you can spare the day. We didn't feel that anything was rushed, or that we lost time spending too long at any particular place. The tour was perfectly paced.
Would totally recommend this tour

Really great day tour with Keith! We visited so many Scottish landmarks and touched on a lot of Scotland’s rich history. Keith adapted the tour to the weather and his local knowledge, and also kept the energy up for the whole day. He was delighted to answer any questions we had, was deeply knowledgable and a great story teller. We were in a small group (10 ppl) which meant we weren’t lost in a big crowd. Really recommend this tour if you can spare a day.

A really great day out of Edinburgh
Sep 2021
We booked this tour via TripAdvisor and really enjoyed the day out. It's a chance to see nature and the surrounding areas outside of Edinburgh. We were picked up by Andy at a stop near the Waverley Train station in Edinburgh. We were driven out of Edinburgh and up into the Highlands. Andy was friendly, funny and told us some interesting facts about the people, history, buildings and geology of the places we drove past and visited along the tour.

We went by the Troussachs National Park via Glencoe all the way to Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. The Cruise on Loch Ness is extra and costs £18 each. We paid the cost of the cruise tickets in cash to Andy on the morning of the tour and he booked the cruise for us. The cruise is 50 minutes long and is worth it to see the Loch and surrounding countryside.

On the way back to Edinburgh we stopped off at Blair Athol and a couple of other places. There are toilets on almost all of the stops but they are not of the best quality. The Highlands were stunning and definitely worth the drive over to see them.

The weather was awful the day we went (very windy and it rained most of the day) so take along a raincoat and warm clothes. Also, take some lunch (sandwiches, drinks, snacks) although some of the stops had cafes or a very small supermarket where you could buy snacks. Be warned that this is a very long day (almost 12 hours).

Hi and thanks for your comprehensive review of our Loch Ness & Highlands tour. It's an epic day in the Highlands but it sounds like Andy looked after you really well. Our very small groups also help keep the tour moving along of course...Thanks for choosing Heart of Scotland Tours!

Well organized and thoroughly enjoyable tour, would 100% recommend
Sep 2021
Excellent tour and would 100% recommend.

This was a surprise birthday present for my partner and we both really enjoyed the whole day. Our guide Euan was fantastic! He explained everything in detail and answered any questions the group had. He gave interesting historical and modern overviews of our destinations, with some jokes we are still laughing at. It was especially interesting for me as an English person to learn about all the history that we never learned about in school.

The tour it self sounds longer than it actually feels. Its scattered with beautiful photo / pit stops so you're not on the bus for hours on end. When you are on the bus you're engaged by the stories or peacefully watching the scenery go by with a mixture of music in the back ground (little bit of nice Scottish folk music or modern chart style music). It was a great balance of talking/stories, music, and quietness.

The boat tour of Loch Ness was seamless, off the bus with 15mins before we had to walk straight on to the boat (we had to pay extra for this but worth it, it's was the cherry on the cake for us).
