A wonderful day to the Kingdom of Northumbria, Ainwick Castle and briefly Holy Island. Wished we had more time for the Holy Island. Loved the gardens the most at Ainwick Castle. Wish we had time to visit the Poison Gardens there; but unfortunately too much to see and do.

Jo was our guide. Very sweet, knowledgeable and if she didn't know something, she always got back to us with information.

We did 3 1-day tours with them on 3 consecutive days!
1- Loch Ness, Glencoe & The Highlands with David and Martin.
2- Holy Island, Alnwick Castle & the Kingdom of Northumbria with Paul B.
3- Glenfinnan, Mallaig & Glencoe Adventure with Paul B.

Maybe 2 and 3 would have been enough. The chosen sites were quite nice with lots of photo opportunities as well as learning about the history.

The tours were well organized. The bus is confortable. We did not need them, but translation for non-English speaking person is available.

Yes, there is a lot of riding in the bus, especially with tour 1 and 3. But hey, there is a great distances/km/miles to be covered, so what can you do? The beautiful scenery scottish music in the bus and lots of information by the guides on Scottish / UK history still makes it worthwhile.

We brought a cold lunch every day and this gave us more time to visit.
There is always extras to pay for visiting certains sites. I think it allows the tour price to be lower for those who would like to skip castles or boat trips. We however paid to do them all and this definitely made the trips more interesting.

All 3 guides were very very nice and adapted to the difficult request of some passengers. There English accent was also easy to understand.

Overall, I highly recommend Timberbush!

Hi there, thank you for the 5* review! It's great to hear that you've been on 3 tours with us - you'll be an expert on Scotland now! I'm really glad that each time, you found our guides to be really nice and easy to understand, the coaches to be comfortable, and the tours well organised. Hopefully we will see you again some day soon for 3 more tours and show you even more of Scotland! All the best, David

We took 2 tours with Timberbush Tours. We took Holy Island, Alnwick Castle & Kingdom of Northumbria with driver Andrew T and Rosslyn Chapel, Scottish Borders & Abbotsford house with Donald. While both drivers were knowledgeable on each tour our favorite was Donald T. He was much more fun and engaging with us. Both tours were great locations to visit. Keep in mind you will still need to pay to enter each specific chapel or Castle location but still worth the trip. Would definitely do it again

Hi there, thank you for your review! I'm so glad to hear that you really enjoyed both of your tours and that you found both of your guides to be really knowledgeable. Those tours both cover some great locations and it's interesting to go down south rather than heading up north! Hopefully we will see you on some other tours soon! Best wishes, David

Fraser was a wonderful driver and guide, sharing a wealth of interesting information and very friendly and professional. We enjoyed the trip very much but did wish that we had more time in Lindesfarne/Holy Island. We had only one hour here, which meant that we couldn’t see the castle or get to really see the town due to the time it takes to walk out to the island. On the other side, the tour spent 3 hours in Alnswick which was lovely but we would have liked to spent at least of bit of that time in Lindesfarne.

Hi there, thank you for your review! We will definitely take on your feedback about maybe spending some more time the Holy Island area and taking some time off Alnwick, even though it is very beautiful. I'm glad that you found Fraser to be a wonderful driver-guide and that he was friendly, informative and professional. Hopefully we will be able to take you on another tour soon! Best wishes, David

We had a beautiful ride through the countryside on our way to Alnwick Castle. Stunning castle! We were a bit rushed at Holy Island, but we enjoyed walking along the sea. Gorgeous rainbow on the way home.

Hi there, thank you for your review! I'm happy to hear you had a great time on the Holy Island, Alnwick Castle & the Kingdom of Northumbria tour. I'm sorry you felt a bit rushed at Holy Island, we do need to be careful there as if we time it wrong, you could end up stranded there as the tide comes in, which we definitely don't want! We also have to ensure we reach Alnwick in time. I'm glad you were still able to have a great time on tour though, and I hope you were able to get a photo of that rainbow. Hopefully we will see you again some day! Best wishes, David

Neil was a superb guide, very informative and attentive. We learned a lot about the history of Scotland and the rest of the UK. Enjoyed the coastal drive and the quaint little village of Lindesfarne (found some great crab sandwiches :-)). Also got a kick out of walking across the border between England and Scotland, a nice touch.

USB charging ports on the bus were a big plus!
