About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- leeanalake0 contributionsFantastic TourWe had a great time on this tour. We saw the highland cows, beautiful scenery, and Loch Ness, as well as other lochs. Our guide Dan (Dayne? he didn't spell it) and driver Micheal were very fun and entertaining, with lots of jokes and banter. They played nice music and told us about the history of the areas we were visiting. I would recommend this tour to friends.Written November 7, 2024
- ee730 contributionsGreat tour with Steven B. Lots of history and top spots to visitGreat day tour when short on time. Steven B is a great, fun tour guide. Lots of history with the humor thrown in. Would highly recommendWritten November 6, 2024
- lorrainedO2564EC0 contributionsThree amazing days in ScotlandI booked this trip for my family to explore Scotland and we absolutely fell in love. Our three day tour was so much more than we expected, and we loved every bit of it. Our tour guide Hugh was a wealth of knowledge, he was so very patient, explaining everything he possibly could, so passionate about his country and its history and even keeps an excellent playlist in the tour bus. He truly squeezed everything he could into the three days and even surprised us by playing the bagpipes on top of a mountain in the pouring rain! It was such a special day. I cannot recommend this tour enough, it was the experience of a lifetime, and I will definitely be booking again soon!Written November 6, 2024

- KochiNoah80 contributionsExcellent tour with an exceptional tour guide! The tour was exceptional and Chris did a great job throughout the 3-day journey. He has great sense of humour, very fluent and very knowledgeable. He made the tour quite alive specially when the weather was not quite good. Well done Highland Experience Tours! Highly recommended. Cheers😀Written November 2, 2024
- 854katrinp0 contributions10/5 !I have been on quite a few daytrip bus tours from Edinburgh in the past years, with different tour companies. I have to say this has been by far my favourite - Hugh was an amazing guide, giving us the perfect mix of funny dad jokes and interesting facts about Scotland. He also has a really good playlist (no proclaimers for once, yay!) We even had time for some extra stops and one of those stops was the highlight of the day for me. Oban is always worth a visit and a great place if you want to see something different from the classic (and much busier) Loch Ness route. Would (and probably will during my next visit to Scotland) book this tour again!Written November 2, 2024
- mariekllr0 contributionsAn amazing day!I had an amazing day during my tour in the Highlands! Steven B. was our guide for the day, and he was very nice and funny. I learned a lot of things about Scotland thanks to him, so thank you so much Steven !! This tour was amazing; the views are all so incredible, and I am very happy I had to experience the beauty of the Highlands during my first trip to Scotland. If you don't have much time during your trip to go explore by yourself, this tour is the perfect option for it !!! For my next trip there, I am already thinking about their 3-day trip to experience and discover even more about this beautiful country.Written November 1, 2024
- OnAir463196330310 contributionsFirst Time in the Highlands! It was my very first trip to Scotland and the Highlands. The tour was incredible and rather informative with our knowledgeable guide, Hugh, who filled us in with his historic fun facts throughout the day. The views, the landscapes, and the hairy coos are worth a visit. I look forward to doing another trip with them in the future!Written November 1, 2024
- 49Lainey0 contributionsExcellent day your from EdinburghYet another excellent day tour with Highland Experience, my third so far. Our driver/guide Graham was very knowledgeable and gave a running commentary as we drove through the countryside, giving plenty of facts and insights. Ample time was given at each stop for a good look around. Would certainly recommend Highland Experience.Written November 1, 2024
- 490faynae0 contributionsThe Higlands, bagpipes, princesses, fish and chips and NessieI booked this trip blindly to get to know a bit better the Highlands and the Isle of Skye, and I just say it has been the best choice ever. Our tour guide Hugh offered us an amazing trip into the magical Highlands, sharing amazing folklore stories and also history events, that immerse us more into the experience. Travelling through an overwhelming landscape we learned about the Sad story of the Campbells and the MacDonnalds, the sisters that were turned into mountains, the lovely Nessie, the river of eternal youth and the lake (loch, sorry!) of fertility. Our guide happened to be a bagpipe player, and starred in a gig up in the Inverness, where we had lovely haggis for dinner in a local pub. I strongly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed ❤️Written November 1, 2024
- Mikemalo0 contributionsA great place to visitLots to see here, there is something to see everywhere you look. The talk was fascinating and it was essential to the visit as you would miss the history of a lot of it. Very ornate and amazing at what was built here.Written November 1, 2024
- Jet588166835760 contributionsA wonderful trip through the highlandsIt was an amazing trip through the highlands!! We got to see so many beautiful landscapes and even though it was long, it was worth every minute. Our tourguide Hugh was great and really entertaining, he made the whole trip even more fun and we learned so much! We would definitely do it again!Written October 31, 2024

- BaselLisa0 contributionsHighly recommendedWe (my sister and I) absolutely loved our tour, the two-day Jacobite Highlander tour. It superseded our expectations. Jamie was a wonderful guide and the memory of it will stay with us forever. It was a perfect mix of nature, culture and history. Furthermore, our accommodation was top notch. We can’t wait to visit Scotland again and will certainly do another tour in future. Highly recommended.Written October 29, 2024

This was my second tour this week with Highland Experience. A couple days ago I went to St Andrews with Jamie who was an awesome guide, especially knowledgable about whisky! Today we went with John back to his native land of England. I’ve been on tours with John before (to Oban 2 years ago) he always goes out of his way to make sure you have a good experience, taking photos of you and your group and working extra stops in to scenic and interesting places.

I wanted to explore south of Edinburgh and also wanted to see Alnwick Castle. John, our tour bus driver, was great. He is new with company but lives in the area where the tour went to. He had the best local knowledge and stories, in addition to all the history of the area. It was great to see the most amazing castle in Alnwick Castle. This was like out of a fairytale or movie! Specially since we were able to watch children learn to fly to play Quidditch! The castle and gardens were incredible! You could spend hours lost in amongst the flowers and pathways. Melrose Abbey was hauntingly beautiful. John gave us more than enough time at all of our stops for us to explore and make memories. I loved being able to stop at both the English border plaque and Scottish border plaque for a quick picture! Having the local knowledge was instrumental in the enjoyment of our day! I loved every minute of it.

We were sad that the trip to Alnwick was canceled. There were no dates to reschedule. We had to find a tour for this elsewhere.
