Hear about murder and mayhem on this night walking tour of Edinburgh, led by a ghostly guide who mixes historical fact with fable and a dash of humor. Stroll along the eerie alleyways, cobbled streets and creepy courtyards of Old Town, and visit the sites of horrific happenings. Listen to entertaining tales of the supernatural while you’re guaranteed several ghastly appearances.
What to Expect
During this night walking tour of Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, a ghoulish guide leads you to supernatural scenes of murder, torture and other horrific happenings. Meet at a central location under the cloak of darkness and set out on foot, following your entertaining guide who plays the part of Adam Lyal, an infamous highwayman who was executed in 1811.

Venture through the dark alleyways and haunted courtyards while you listen to fearsome tales of ghosts, plague and witchcraft, including the notorious body snatching trade of the 19th century. While the subject matter is sinister and the tour is not for the faint of heart (surprise ‘jumper-ooters’ make ghostly appearances), the tone is lighthearted.

Bonus: At the end of your 75-minute tour, receive a copy of the book Witchery Tales.

Please note: Due to a planned annual event in Edinburgh, the departure point is from a different location between July 30 – August 25, except Sundays. Further details will be provided on the voucher.

Really good fun and different

Really recommend this tour. Even in the wind and rain of a December evening in Edinburgh it was a good laugh. An alternative way to learn and explore the City.

Really cheesy tour with jump scares and some history. I wanted an actual underground tour of Edinburgh and did not get it. There was was more jump scares than actual history included in this tour. I knew it would be funny but this was not...More
