We booked this at short notice after Timberbush let us down at 24-hour notice and we had only one other day (Sunday) of our short break available. It was probably a blessing as the weather was much nicer on the Sunday rather than the Saturday and our driver and guide Jim Scott could not have been bettered. He was excellent. The trip was the same price as The Timberbush equivalent but, sadly, did not include a trip to Sir Walter Scott’s house Abbotsford.

Rosslyn Chapel is a fascinating piece of history, it is quite easy to get there by bus from Princes Street in Edinburgh. The Chapel is set in the most beautiful countryside, it’s carved out of pink sandstone and inside there are beautiful carved ceilings and columns. The history is amazing, told to us by very knowledgeable guides. There is one spot on the floor marked by a brass plate where three Lae lines cross and very strange things have happened to people who stand on that spot. There is a great gift shop and a lovely restaurant, serving delicious food. Of course the film The DaVinci Code has made the Chapel famous but it is much much more, a really wonderful day out. Don’t forget to take your camera. If you don’t fancy going by bus, there are some tours available from Edinburgh.

Melrose abbaye and Scottish borders was great experience. Driver and guide was very interesting and funny. Highly recommended. The rosslyn chapel wasn't appealing to me and not on my choice for this tour and I still paid to enter it and was a 5mns visit lol boring and nothing historically appealing to me as more for da vinci code fans. The whole tour experience was great !

We went on the day trip guided by Jim Scott and it was one of our most memorable trips throughout our stay in Edinburgh. Rosslyn Chapel is as stunning or more as you could ever imagine. The view point was extremely beautiful and the story shared by the guide made us understand and appreciate it even more!

Jim was an awesome guide who made our day extra special and has now become an unofficial member of our small little Malaysian family. We found a friend/photographer that day and that was the best part indeed!

This is the 2nd time I took this tour. The 1st time was 3 yrs ago with my mom and the most recent was with my husband & son. Each time I had excellent tour guides. Graham was our operator on this last tour and his knowledge of history was impressive. We all learned a great deal and are very grateful for Graham's efforts. Melrose Abbey was fenced off this time, I guess they've had some areas of the building to repair since I toured it 3 yrs ago but it was still accessible on the outside to see. Rosslyn Chapel had an orator to explain the history 3 yrs ago but I guess since COVID, they've adapted to info pillars at each focal point and an attendant to answer questions individually. Still great info, I couldn't get my husband and son out of Rosslyn!

Went on this short trip as it was my last day in Edinburgh and had to catch my flight home. Trip started at 9.45 our driver was Willliam and he was really good. We went to see a statue of William Wallace, Melrose Abbey, Rosslyn Chapel and the borders. We found out a lot about the border area and the people who lived there. We stood where Walter Scott used to stand and look out about 5 miles from his home. We found out a lot of information about King Robert, Mary Queen of Scots, St Clair family and so much more. The picture of the inside of Rosslyn Chapel is from a book because theres no pictures or videos allowed inside the chapel.

I forgot what our tour guide's name was but he was Australian. He was absolutely FABULOUS! We loved him and the tour. This was the BEST tour we took of the our 4 guided tours in Edinburgh. My husband and I were blown away with the professionalism of this tour and the friendliness of the driver/tour guide. We had the best time. We were given sufficient time to visit at each of the locations, we were never rushed through anything, and the tour guide just felt like he genuinely cared about whether or not we were enjoying ourselves and happy with the tour. He was super friendly and he was extremely informative. We were even given time to explore and eat at Melrose with great recommendation for lunch from the tour guide. Rosslyn was a wonderful, mindblowing experience and we have time to explore after Rosslyn too! We took a short hike down to Rosslyn Castle. This was our favorite day of all our days in Scotland. Rabbie's definitely set the bar high! After going on this tour, we were disappointed with our other tour groups which paled in comparison. We love RABBIES!

Please specify in your tours which ethnicities you don't like included so that we could be saved from an awkward experience.
Our tour to Rosslyn Chapel was not taken kindly as we were seen as immigrants from the "third world" as pointed out by one of the fellow tourist, and also agreed by the tour guide. We were asked countless times why we were on the tour, what our interest was in the tour, why we had two kids with us, why were we there. For next time please specify CLEARLY which ethnicities you prefer on your tours, this would save not only our time but money as well.
Thank you

Everyone is welcome on our tours and we strongly believe that they are richer for the diversity of our passengers. We are so sorry that this is not how you were made to feel. It is common for our guides to enquire why passengers have joined us and what their interests are, so that they can better tailor the tour and commentary to those on board. Knowing, for example, that you're interested in wildlife, or are in Scotland because of family heritage means that the guide can share things that may be of specific interest or make additional stops where appropriate. There are good intentions with these questions, but it is concerning that it felt interrogating and unwelcoming. We are sorry for your experience and I hope you will contact me at feedback@rabbies.com so I can investigate this further and arrange the appropriate training for our team. Kind Regards, Aimee

Our guide, Nik, truly made this experience worthwhile! He drove beautifully (spoken as someone who easily gets carsick), and his personal stories of growing up in Edinburgh and visiting the borders with his family provided a unique perspective rarely seen on typical «tourist-y» attractions. He took great care of us, making us all feel welcome, and made it easy to connect with other members of the group. Great information and great experiences on this tour, highly recommend.

Loved Melrose Abbey and Rosslyn Chapel! There was also adequate time to spend at each location. Our guide Grant was energetic and informative. The Rabbie's tour buses are a great way to travel in a small group! It was a bit too hot on the bus today though.
