What to expect
This 3-day adventure in the Scottish Highlands begins when you meet your guide at a convenient location in Edinburgh and set off via a top of the range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach. With only a small group of fellow travelers for company, you discover the area’s unique landscapes and rich history. On the first day, you head to Portree, the Isle of Skye’s largest town. En route, see the historic city of Stirling, Ben Nevis (Britain’s highest peak), and the hills and waterfalls of Glencoe. Enjoy free time to explore Portree in the evening before a night at a B&B or 3-star hotel—whichever you picked at checkout. The second day begins with a guided tour of the Isle of Skye. Depending on the weather, visit the 13th-century Dunvegan Castle, the rugged rock formations of Quiraing, or the sea cliffs at Neist Point, among other destinations. Your second night is again spent in Portree. On the third day, make your way back to Edinburgh, with plenty of sightseeing opportunities as you go. Pause at Loch Ness to see if you can spot Nessie (its sea monster), and admire the wild Grampian Mountains. The tour ends in early evening, upon return to Edinburgh.

Fabulous trip and an amazing tour guide!! Ray Kept us all entertained on the bus with tons of history and fun facts. And a great music soundtrack!! Thanks Ray and Rabbies we had an awesome time the past 3 days
The highlands on the way to Skye were beautiful and the Isle of Skye was amazing. The tour is well organized and makes lots of stops so you’re only on the bus at most an hour and a half.
If you are mobility limited you wouldn’t be able to see everything as a few things were a slight walk over rocks but you could do almost everything.
We booked our own hotel - we stayed at the Cuillin Hills hotel which was beautiful and had a great restaurant with amazing views over the harbor.
We lucked out and had great weather all 3 days so we wore sneakers- never needed our rain jackets but it was windy at many sights where you needed layers.
The bus was new and comfortable with stadium seating so everyone can see out all the windows- the bus was air conditioned and everyone had their own vent to adjust the air flow.

This was mine and my husband's second Rabbles trip and it was just as brilliant as the first. Our guide's name was Ashleigh and right from the moment we all met at the minivan, she was warm, happy, enthusiastic and excited - this helped us both feel very at ease. She was so in love with Scotland!!! Our fellow travellers were all wonderful people and it was such an amazing opportunity to explore Skye with people who had come from all around the world. Skye was gorgeous and felt surreal. We stopped off at so many places and Ashleigh always made sure that there were plenty of toilet stops. She also planned in our food for us and ensured we had plenty of snacks for long driving periods. She was a nurturing, informative, warm guide and we couldn't have asked for better! Everything ran like clockwork the whole trip and despite all the windy roads in the wilderness, Ashleigh's driving was fantastic and so safe.

It would have been a 5 star review for Ashleigh and the tour but we had a slight problem with our accommodation this time around. We had asked Rabbies to book our accommodation for us on the booking form but were informed that if we wanted a 4 star hotel, we would have to book it ourselves. We did this at the Marmalde Hotel (which was an amazing hotel and I highly recommend it) but our email explaining this confirmation to the company was lost in the internet. Rabbies then sent us an email the day before we were due to leave for the tour, telling us that they'd booked the accommodation for us. We queried this and were told we would have to pay for it in full as it was too late to cancel.

We completely appreciated that you never received our email for the hotel we had booked ourselves, but felt that sending the accommodation details the night before we were due to leave and not checking up after the last email where you had told us to book our own accommodation, left us no time to rectify this and get a full refund. Again, our guide Ashleigh was so helpful during the tour in helping us sort out this worry as it was a lot of money to have to pay. Thankfully, Rabbles agreed to split the cost in half due to mistakes on both sides which we were thankful for and helped us to then enjoy the rest of our tour.

We will still be booking another tour as we are obsessed with Rabbies and the guides and experiences we have had so far but we will click book our own accommodation on the booking form to avoid any confusion in the future.

Absolutely fab.
"It's not whether you or I believe in Nessie, it's whether she believes in herself."
What a fab tour. As a solo, female traveller, I felt so comfortable with the group and with the driver guide, Chris. Chris was friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and had that typical, Scottish, dry sense of humour! The tour was amazing value for money and we managed to cram in so many spots on each of the three days; some of which were decided in the heat of the moment as Chris was so well informed of the local areas. We had ridiculously varied weather over the three days and luckily the days were times very well so we managed to get the most out of our trip. Word of warning - definitely take good walking shoes, spare layers, and a bright yellow waterproof jacket :D
I would recommend this tour to anyone thinking of going to Scotland, or in fact anywhere that Rabbies operates. Thanks again.

This was such a magical tour! My husband and I did the 3-day Isle of Skye tour with Robbie as our tour guide and it was perfection. The highlands and Skye were absolutely stunning and were our favorite part of our entire trip to Scotland. Glencoe and Quirang were at the top of my list as far as spots to visit. And let’s not forget meeting some highland ‘coos’ - the entire group was elated.

Robbie was our tour guide and did such a good job of giving us the history of each location and explaining the intricacies of the clan system and how it all interconnects throughout Scotland’s history. He also had a great sense of humor, was extremely knowledgeable (we asked a lot of questions), and very considerate. The ride to Skye takes about 6 hours but with perfectly timed location stops, photo opps, and rest/food stops, it made the ride pleasant and so easy. I have a chronic back condition and was nervous to book a tour but the van was comfortable and there was time to walk around at each stop to avoid stiffness and of course explore.

I did a lot of research before booking this and I’m so glad I did because it exceeded my expectations. Do not hesitate to book this tour! And if you get Robbie as your guide, it’s an added bonus!

We took a 3 day tour to Isle of Sky from Edingburg on the 19/6/21 and It was excellent. We were very lucky to be transferred to the tour group originated in Glasgow due to COVID restrictions and less number of people. Our guide Cameron was full of knowledge and went an extra mile to make our journey enjoyable. He stopped in all the beautiful spots for photos. He explained everything in detail and played appropriate music in different locations and made sure all of us were safe and comfortable. He even made sure we went inside our accommodation on the first day. I will not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone to specially if Camaron is the guide. Thank Camaron for everything and your stories.

We saw some beautiful areas of the highlands. We signed up for a small tour of <16. We were put on a large bus of over 30 without air conditioning! We were unable to visit some sites because of the bus size, Also while our driver/guide was nice, he was a bit lackluster. He should have been driving and we should have had a proper tour guide.

We only have and use 16-seat mini-coaches so it doesn't sound like you were on a Rabbie's tour. We suspect you were booked with another local operator who use full size coaches. We're keen to investigate this further, so please do contact feedback@rabbies.com with your booking details.

When we booked this tour we thought it would be amazing. We thought it would be the main event during our trip to the UK. We couldn’t have ever imagined what was awaiting us. This was not only the main event of our trip but a life changing event for me and my wife. There are no words to express this magnificent experience. We want to send a very special thanks to Fraser, our guide. Thank you for your dedication and for the passion you put into your job. In every little detail from the way you drive, the songs you put, all the tales and valuable information you give, you are an outstanding guide. We’ll need to come back. We can't believe the beautiness of the places we went to. They leave you breathless from just being there. Everything was perfectly executed, punctual, perfect balance between traveling to destinations and time outside the mini-coach walking and experiencing those magical places. I wouldn’t hesitate a second to book another tour with Rabbie’s and especially if it is with Fraser.

This tour was the perfect introduction to the beautiful Highlands. With small, comfortable ultra modern mini coaches (USB sockets in seat much appreciated), super friendly and knowledgeable guides and plenty of time to explore the best sights, it felt like we packed in as much as possible into 3 days without feeling rushed.

Shout out to our tour guide Iain who was the perfect host, had so much interesting knowledge about the landscapes, the people and history of Scotland, was a great laugh and kept us all entertained. He even has specially curated Spotify playlists of old, new, pop and traditional Scottish music!

Check the photos for the highlights, of which there were many. Even though the weather was against us, we couldn’t have asked for a better few days. It’s also great value for the amount of ground you cover over three days.

My only tip would be to book your own accommodation in Portree, as the operator’s choices seemed overpriced compared with the going rates. We got a great 4 star hotel for not much more than a basic B&B. Other than that, just sit back, relax, and soak up Scotland’s incredible landscapes.

We're delighted that you enjoyed your introduction to the Highlands with Iain. You were in great hands and it sounds as though it was a really fun trip, thanks very much for your great comments. Accommodation wise, prices on our website are approximate guidelines based averages across all tours. The exact price will differ depending on the location, date and availability but is always sourced directly from the hotel/b&b. Discounted rates can be available at this time of the year and we're glad you were able to get a good deal! Thanks again for your wonderful feedback and recommendation! All the best, Aimee

Such an amazing tour!
The highlands landscape and Skye island are magnificent. Just breath-taking. Views from the first bus stop (out of many) were already worth the price.
Our tour guide (Iain) is such a lovely, funny, and educated person. All bus was either laughing or intently listening to all stories and folklore that Iain prepared for us. Super happy to have him as a guide. Cannot recommend him enough. If you're reading this and still thinking about whether to go, just go. It will exceed your expectations. I can promise that.

Our driver-guide, Martin Evans, was absolutely incredible. He made this tour for my mum and myself unforgettable. He catered to what everyone on the bus wanted to see and experience with a few extras on the side. A gem of a guy and an absolute credit to Rabbie's.
Our time at the black sand beach and fairy pools along with an unplanned stop at Glenfinnan on our way back to Edinburgh shows that Rabbie's goes above and beyond and it truly showed the love Martin has for Scotland, it's history and his career. 20/10 will never go with any other tour company when visiting Scotland, Ireland, Wales or England.
