It was wonderfull. There were long walks to site. I think that should be mentioned in the tour information. I have trouble walking distances. Our tour guide was great.

    The magic of Royal Deeside
We won the “Jim trifecta” on this trip, fortunate as we were to have him as our guide for all three Rabbies tours over a three week trip to Scotland. This last was in our opinion the best as it showcased extraordinary natural wonders through the day, each one intelligently and entertainingly narrated by our guide. Sights difficult to describe and impossible to forget. In short, Rabbies tours are excellent and Jim has found his true calling, as a tour guide extraordinaire.

    Beautiful Northeast Scotland Coast
Wonderful day spent with Jim, the entertaining and informative leader of our tour to the Northeast coast of Scotland. All along the way Jim added insight to the passing parade of countryside, villages, rugged coastline, and extraordinary offshore formations. I had Cullen Skink for the first time and highly recommend it. Thanks to Jim and Rabbies for a first class tour experience.

    More than fills a day
At some point in the beginning of the tour Jim, our guide said something along the lines that weather makes the difference between a good and a great tour. On this point I respectfully disagree and would instead say that is the quality of the tour guide that makes a tour truly special, and Jim is one of those tour guides that at every opportunity went above and beyond to make this one of the best day trips I have experienced while on holiday. At every stop Jim was knowledgeable and understanding, and his specific insights were crucial in getting better seats on the boat on the Loch or proving deeper understanding into the other pit stops along the way. I would greatly recommend this tour to anyone who has never experienced the Highlands Before as the scenery is awe inspiring and magical.

    Beautiful Highlands Trip
Yesterday we went on the 12-hour Highlands trip with Jim. It was phenomenal. Really beautiful scenery. Lots of interesting places. Jim was a fabulous guide and had many interesting facts to tell us. It is a lot of driving so you need to enjoy the aspect of taking in the scenery. Next time I would like to try the distillery tour. Jim is considered one of Scotland's sheep experts, so be sure and ask him all your sheep questions (you will see thousands of them)!

    Beautiful
Stunning scenery, a truly magnificent place to visit. You certainly get the feel of magnificence, not disappointed. I would say it's not good for people with mobility issues as there are many steps and difficult surfaces to navigate.

    No regrets
I was sceptical about the quality of the tour as I had read some not entirely flattering reviews about it. However, nothing could be further from the truth! You don't spend most of your time on the bus at all, but yes a fair amount of it, but given that it's quite a second route from Aberdeen to the Inverness area I think this is perfectly normal. Besides, by spending some time on the road we were able to enjoy the beautiful Scottish countryside. Our guide Jim was very friendly, from the start of the tour he told all sorts of interesting facts about the places we drove past, he was also very funny, a truly wonderful man who loves his job. Between the attractions and riding in a very comfortable bus from which we had a great view of the surrounding countryside we had our comfortable breaks for a toilet, a cigarette or to stretch our bones. We were in the town of Tomintoul famous for its whisky where it was possible to have a tasting and buy some lovely souvenirs, we admired several Scottish castles, rivers and other beauties of the Cairngorms National Park from behind the windows, we also had the opportunity to see several whisky and gin distilleries. We also went, despite being delayed by a car accident that happened on the road, to Clava Cairns - the ancient gravestones that probably provided the inspiration for Craigh na Dun in Outlander (and we are big fans). We also went to the Culloden battlefield where we had plenty of time to admire the site and delve into the history of the Jacobite uprising, Jim also gave us lots of information about the battle. It was wonderful to learn about the history of the brave Scots and to see the site where the last battle in the islands was fought. We then went to the famous Lake Loch Ness, we were able to purchase tickets for the cruise from our driver-guide Jim at a small discount this was a very nice touch. I think everyone who was there has no regrets the place was breathtaking, the lake cruise was just as wonderful and comfortable, I would recommend going there to anyone. We also visited the small town of Carrbridge it was very charming especially the bridge there. The history of the town is also interesting. A lovely moment of the trip was a close encounter with two Scottish Highland cows - Donald and Hamish we were delighted. I would highly recommend Rabbies services to anyone, the tour was well organised ran in a relaxed atmosphere and there was no shortage of activities. If you want to see a bit of Scotland without the hassle of changing buses and planning it yourself then this is for you. I will definitely use their services again :) :)

The best choice to enjoy spectacular views of the north east coast!
A wonderful one day tour of the north east coast of Scotland! We were incredibly lucky with the weather and the sun was shining almost all the time, the wind was calm. Our driver and tour guide, Jim, brightened the driving time with very interesting and meaningful stories. The places and towns where we stayed were very beautiful and the nice weather made it possible to enjoy them in every way.

Best possible experience if you genuinly want to see and learn
The full day tour gives full value for the money - and certainly when you are lucky to have a fantastic guide as Neill: Knowledgeable, a fantastic story-teller, though factual, and not shy of generously sharing his insights into the rich Scottish history and unique landscapes. It is a dense and ambitious day programme, possibly not for everyone. But for others like me, you will not find a better Highlands and beautiful Speyside live crash course! Warmly recommended.

    A+ Guide Jim & Itinerary is A+
Highest recommendation for the Dunnottar Castle Rabbie’s Tour; an all-day trip with never a dull moment. Awe-inspiring vistas; multiple different stops of interest with extended time at three - Dunnottar Castle, Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve, and the Braemar area. Coincidentally, King Charles and Queen Camilla are in residence at Balmoral and they were at Crathie Kirk for Sunday service when we passed by. Every option for enjoyment available whether you are a fit hiker or a more sedentary sort. This is a delightful must-do excursion! Hope you are lucky to have Jim as your guide!

    Good views and history.
A good day with a very informative guide. A combination of historic sites and a visit to Loch Ness. An enjoyable day but the inclusion of bridges might be substituted for another item of interest. Doug was a pleasant, informative, and professional guide/driver.

    Brilliant!
We had a brilliant time on this adventure. Our guide was filled with wisdom about the area, and recommendations when we stopped for lunch. The coach was comfortable, and every place we stopped was absolutely stunning. I highly recommend this tour. Be mindful of how many steps and hills there are, especially at Dunnottar Castle. We thankfully had a lighter day for walking the day after, our legs were sore. 100% worth it, I cannot express how wonderful this tour was.

    Worth every cent
The tour very much lived up to our expectations. Spectacular views and good walks. The driver was friendly, knowledgeable and witty. We would like to have seen the puffins, but unfortunately they leave in August.

We were fortunate to once again have the charming Jim for our guide through lovely Speyside, home to many of the worlds most renowned single malt whiskey. His insight into the history of the area added greatly to our tour experience. Watching whiskey barrels be refurbished by experienced Coopers, who go through extensive training and are often children and grandchildren of Coopers who have come before them.
Cardhu provided an excellent tour of the distillery and the process of making whiskey. Once again it was our tour guide, Jim, who made the long day fly by with interesting anecdotes. Loved this tour!

We went on this day trip on the last day of our vacation and I highly recommend it. Doug was a fantastic guide and even took us on a little more scenic of a route on the way back which led us to a neat bridge over the river Spey where we stopped for some pictures. The Scottish countryside is very pretty and we were able to see quite a bit of wildlife including pheasants and red deer. The Glenfiddich and Cardhu distillery tours are well run with Drew (Glenfiddich) and Molly (Cardhu) being great guides. We also really enjoyed the speyside cooperage.

The guide used the time on the bus from Aberdeen to Dufftown to give good and informative background information that made the guided tours on the Coopridge and the two destilleries more giving. I liked to note the differences in the destilling processer between the two destilleries. At Cardhu I liked to have an introduktion to flavors that made the testing at the end of the tour more interesting. I recommend to tale part in the blind testing at Cardhu.

We had a terrific outing with Alice (the trainee) and Doug (I hope I'm remembering his name correctly?!) The whole trip was packed with gorgeous vistas, pleasurable stories, nice musical interludes, and of course, Whisky! We found that whisky is to Scotland as devilled eggs are to the midwest picnic menu. Everyone seems to have a favorite recipe and enjoys tasting other folks' home favorite. It's ordinary and special at the same time. The distilleries really welcome you and are very informative. It was all a terrific way to see the sights without the stress of driving, and all of your needs are well anticipated (i.e. food and restrooms). FYI: The cost of the tour is really for the transport and the guide's know-how. Entry to the distilleries, lunch on the road, etc. are NOT part of the tour price. Don't be put off by this- it is well worth the day out. And don't be shy about showing your appreciation to the guide- they will appreciate it!

We lucked into a very small group tour (just the two of us). Douglas was our guide. Of the stops, Glenfiddich was especially great and the cooperage exceeded our expectations, as we were able to observe the craftsmen hard at work. Douglas was a first-rate guide; generous with his knowledge, friendly and flexible. He made sure we saw things we would have otherwise missed, both at the planned stops and along the way, and suggested great diversions. He’s from the area and shared lots of his insights. It’s hard to imagine what more he could have offered.

The promises shouldn't be made, in case there's no plan in keeping them. I am extremely disappointed, as several days before my trip, I started getting emails about tour being shortened and agenda changed, and proposals to change to other dates, because apparently I was the only traveler for the day - until last day surprise, when I was already waiting for the bus in Aberdeen station, I got to know that TOUR IS CANCELED! They didn't even call me, just notified by email!!! Very unprofessional.

Booked this trip a few months in advance. When we got to the bus station, it was me and my friend and a couple. The van was so nice! Heated, clean, and charging ports in all seats.

Our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable on whisky! He had great conversation and overall good energy which made the experience that much more pleasant. The tour itself was a great deal for the price. We even had some spare time to stop at a local town.

Overall, it was a great, well-put together tour that made the trip out to Aberdeen worth it. I enjoyed how we started from the making of the barrels. I learned tons about whisky which was the point of my visit! 5/5!
