      Great day out!
We were a group of 4 friends touring Scotland for 16 days. We went on multiple tours. This one was by far my favorite. Our guide, Alex, was superb. He kept us entertained all day. Later in the afternoon he played several types of Scottish music, all of which was great and I’m going to download it. I am a huge British Royal Family fan, so actually seeing Balmoral was a thrill. It would have been nice had our trip been in July or August when the castle will have more open rooms, but we were committed to May. I don’t understand the reviews that complain about only seeing the ballroom as that is clearly explained in the tour listing and in the Balmoral website. Plus there were many other stops in the tour too. I got many wonderful photos. Alex gave us a great recommendation for lunch on our lunch stop and got us a 10 % discount too. I simply loved the entire day and if I’m ever back in the Royal Deeside area, would do this tour again. Thanks for a great time!

      Outstanding full-day tour!
Our touring party is two American couples on a 10-day visit thru Scotland. We had 1 full day in Aberdeen and needed to find the best tour possible for our limited time. We hit the jackpot with Grampian Escapes and Tours! We were astounded by the depth of the tour (visited so many spots on the way to and from the castle) and by our tour guide’s knowledge. Jacqueline was thoroughly engaging, very knowledgeable, and so much fun with which to travel. Even after doing this for 7 years, she is still enthusiastic about sharing her love of all things Aberdeen. We learned about local history, plants, flowers, and the best places for shopping and dining. The self-guided tour of Balmoral Castle was very enjoyable and worth the tour as a single event. When you factor in everything Jacqueline brought to the tour, this trip was worth every penny. Highly recommend!!!

      So many beautiful places
Many thanks to Jamie for a fantastic time in what would have otherwise been just another wet and wild day. We would never have seen as much as we did without his knowledge of the area and the roads - he packed in so many diverse places and some interesting anecdotes. Picturesque villages, views, wild life, folklore, history & award winning food (fish and chips!). A day well spent despite the awful weather conditions. Great value!

      Lovely Day Trip from Aberdeen
This was a lovely tour…we were able to visit places we would have had difficulty finding on our own. Plenty of time at each stop to get out and explore and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and fun!

The Fishing Villages and possible sighting of Birds and Seals
It was a really interesting tour that I am sure you could have done on your own with a rented car but would highly advise that you don't as the roads going down to the fishing villages are super steep and they curve and wind down to the villages. It was not polluted by tourists which was a good sign and our tour guide, Alex, was super fantastic with knowledge and little stories he told us as well as being fully equipped for the rain by giving us umbrellas. Be ready with snacks and possibly a packed lunch but we did stop in a small village that had enough restaurants. The views were magnificent. Take your binoculars to catch a glimpse of the Seals. I would recommend this tour to see the hidden way of life in the fishing towns of the North East of Scotland.

      Brilliant tour guide
Wonderful choice of coastal destinations, all decided by an experienced tour guide who also drove the vehicle. I have to say not once did I feel afraid whilst driving down some very sharp and steep inclines to reach some of the bays and the cottages. Jacqueline was very mindful of our needs as a mixed group of invisibly disabled adults. The first time I've seen the North Sea, and it is as formidable looking and green-grey as I had imagined it. The flora and seabirds were worth the walks that we took. The geology of the cliffs was amazing. At one of our stops, we encountered the cleanest public toilet we have ever seen! Thank you to Jacqueline, without whom it wouldn't have been such an exceptional day. She is incredibly knowledgable – you will feel at ease to ask questions or for lunch recommendations.

      A wonderful day out
A wonderful day out with Alex as our guide. We were blessed with dry weather so that all of the stops could be fully enjoyed. There was just the right amount of time in each spot and the little treats along the way were very welcome. Transport is in a 8-seater vehicle which can get about the countryside very effectively. Highlights were the Fettercairn distillery, Stonehaven and Dunnottar castle. A lovely day seeing the sights - highly recommended.

      Quaint coastal fishing villages
This day tour to several villages and a castle ruin was one of the best choices I made while in Scotland. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She is an amazing driver traversing some of those narrow streets in the fishing towns. I really enjoyed our lunch break at the lighthouse town. She suggested wisely regarding food choices and how to use our free time. I recommend this tour!

      Great day
I can highly recommend this tour. I really enjoyed the whole day. The best part were cliffs Bullers of Buchan and the beach in Cruden. I said that will come back the following day and I really did. The weather was completely different but it was still gorgeous. I will recommend this trip to my friends 😉

      Small group trip with Jackie
Enjoyed the small group and saw all on itinerary but might have been better if she had pointed out certain noteworthy sites on the roadside before we got to them not after we had whizzed past them. Would definitely do it again. Balmoral is a treasure and not to be missed.

      Costal villages
This was an excellent tour, enjoyed the villages and our tour guide was knowledgable and provided historical information about the places we passed on the tour. A great way to see the coastal villages of Aberdeenshire.

Second tour 2 days in a row. Different guide and both were A+ and different experiences. I wish I could stay and do the remaining 4 tours. The authentic drinking place you go on this tour is a distillery, the rest of the food is local food packed in a picnic basket that is shared at the various stops like a castle and stone circle.

I loved that Jacqueline still has this tour although I was the only booking for the day- I had the whole van and her to myself! We did a whisky distillery (I paid for entry and took excellent tour/tasting here), an ancient castle tour - Jacqueline was my tour guide here with great ability to take you back in time and architecture, a great pub lunch on your own and a more “modern “ ancient castle tour that I paid for guided. A bonus on the way home was a stop to see a stone circle!
I was offered fresh local items to taste in the van between stops while we were on the road- it really is a taste of Scotland! I highly recommend this trip!

Thank you very much. So glad that you had a good day out! It's nice to be able to add in a little something when we can and who doesn't love a stone circle?
