A highly engaging and informative tour led by Steve on a grey day in Belfast. I can’t recommend this walking tour highly enough if you’re interested in the politics and history of the troubles. I grew up hearing about it on the news but didn’t understand the whys and wherefores and Steve gave us such a thorough history & explanation through the years to explain what led to what I was hearing as a child & adult that I now have so much more of an understanding. He was completely unbiased and delivered only facts which was important even though he grew up in Belfast himself. We moved slowly from one location to another and with every event Steve gave us the background, the details and the fallout caused by the event. We were a group of four and each one of us was impressed and so glad that we took the time to learn about the city we were visiting. Thanks so much

We loved this tour of Belfast. We saw and learned so much in just a few hours. Our tour guide, Mark, was exceptional. Days later, as we traveled around Ireland, we would come across something that reminded us of a factoid that Mark had taught us. A few times we knew more about some historical event than the tour guide on other tours because we had learned it from Mark! We toured on a rainy, somewhat miserable day but we enjoyed our visit to Belfast immensely. The rain did not dampen the experience. Our pit stop at a local cafe also had some of the best hot chocolate of the trip!

Me and my wife Susan took the tour around Belfast and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had James as our guide and he interacted with us as well as told history mixed with humour. I found Steve's tour highly informative, both for me as a local and for my Australian friend visiting Belfast for the first time. I liked the way Steve structured his talk around the lasting contributions made by exceptional individuals across the centuries - and across religious divides. It was an engaging and very enjoyable tour.

This was a wonderful way to learn about Belfast’s history. Steve, our guide, grew up in Belfast and gave us an unbiased view of events. He was a great storyteller, interweaving the stories so well. He is passionate about his city and its history, and has a great sense of humour. I was visiting from Australia and knew about the Troubles but not the compassion shown by individuals regardless of their religion and the role they played, especially the significance of members of the First Presbyterian Church. Regarding the Titanic disaster, I had no knowledge of the fire that was raging inside it. As a Line of Duty fan, I was chuffed to learn about the filming locations around the city - I’ll have to watch the series again. Steve also recommended places to eat which was very useful. The use of individual ear phones was the best way to hear the commentary, especially in the noisy streets. The three hours just flew by because Steve held my interest for the entire time. I highly recommend this tour, you will learn and see so much, especially with Steve.
